Covid Data, the IRA, and Political Persecution
It sure looks like the vaccinations are overriding seasonality -- and not in a good way
It’s been a couple weeks since we checked in on the covid hospitalization statistics, and now I have a whole new set of screenshots to compare. Let’s quickly go over what we saw during mid-July in 2020 and 2021 compared to 2022. (Quick note: the ‘inconvenient’ data that we were worried was gone is available here. The memory hole isn’t all-encompassing — yet.)
Pre-vaccination drive, the virus almost perfectly followed Hope-Simpson projections during the summer (and the rest of the year) — it basically disappeared up north while thriving in the sunbelt as it gets hot enough that people gather indoors.
However in 2022, we see some very worrying data. Although the south is being hit again (though not nearly as bad as 2020 or 2021), this year virus activity isn’t confined to that part of the country. And since we expect each yearly wave to be smaller than the one before it (because fewer people remain susceptible), the fact that numerous states are worse of in July 2022 than they were in July 2021 is extremely troubling.
Checking in on the data a couple weeks after our last screenshots, there’s clearly some very positive news. In early August 2020, the southern states were REALLY getting hammered. In 2021 they were still being hammered, though the wave was (as we expect) smaller.
In 2022, in the south the expected pattern holds. Even though states have long-abandoned covid rules, there’s no overwhelming wave of covid hospitalizations and deaths. Even in Florida, the ‘worst’ covid state in August 2020 and 2021, just over 7% of hospital beds are taken with a covid-positive patient, compared to just over 6% nationwide. (In 2020, that Florida number was over 22%!)
The worrying data (again) comes from the rest of the country. In the north, 2022 looks much closer to 2020 (when acquired immunity was at its lowest) than it does 2021. ‘Something’ is causing covid in 2022 to be worse than 2021 — as gato likes to say, this is like watching water flow uphill, it’s not natural and needs further investigation.
Here in Washington when we drill into the numbers at the state dashboard, we see this:
As always, I need to first point out the ridiculous 5,000-bed drop in our healthcare capacity. The entire point of ‘flattening the curve’ was to ensure that our hospital system wasn’t overrun. In what world does it make sense to fire nurses and reduce our capacity? In this guy’s world:
But beyond THAT idiocy, even the official covid numbers are worse than at the same time last year. Covid-positive hospitalizations are running at 150% of last year. The death rate is 0.9 per 100k, up from 0.5 per 100k last year. Nearly all the metrics are shooting giant holes in the official narrative, and try as it might, the Ministry of Truth can’t keep up.
Washington state is extremely vaxxed. Inslee mandated vaccinations for state workers (leading to the aforementioned bed capacity drop), and was recently forced to walk back a booster mandate for those same workers. (Though even that is in doubt, as the press release seems to have disappeared) The state has been RELENTLESS in its push of covid fear in general and vaccines in particular. Yet we’re worse off today than we were a year ago.
And Washington isn’t special. The entire Northeast is dealing with more covid hospitalizations than they did last year at this time. And while there’s no worry that covid will overwhelm the system, we ARE moving into winter — and if the vaccine is making things WORSE, we’re going to have a huge crisis on our hands. These are the exact alarm bells that formerly well-respected scientists were ringing before the mass vaccination campaign. Now that the data makes it clear that this is happening, everybody involved is determined to put their hands over their eyes and plead ignorance. Fortunately for the citizens of the world, we trust our monkeyspheres far more than the lying media, and no amount of datacrime will change that.
In completely expected news, the Senate (thanks to Kamala Harris) passed the Blunder Back Broker Act Inflation Reduction Act. While this will give democrats a talking point for the 2022 midterm elections, I predict that by 2024 they will be running from this obviously terrible monstrosity.
I was going to talk a little more about the passage of the IRA, but in (actual) breaking news, the FBI raided Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort today. I’ve previously talked about how the FBI is now simply a political weapon (and maybe always has been), but the openness in which the administration engages in their political war is shocking. From the blatant political persecution of the 1/6 prisoners to the ‘domestic terrorist’ designation of concerned parents and covid ‘misinformers’, this administration is sending a clear message — oppose us at your peril. After all, if they can go after a former president, what chance do you have?
What do you think the 87,000 new IRS agents funded by the Bumble Back Broker Inflation Reduction Act will be doing? It’s not to audit the 700ish billionaires in the country — it’s to attack dissenters the way that Obama attacked dissenters in the Tea Party. There’s a reason that Democrats unanimously voted down an amendment that would ban new IRS funds from targeting people earning less than 400,000 a year:
It’s the same reason that they want to be able to snoop on your bank transactions if you make more than $600 in transactions IN A YEAR: complete control. (Ask Runnin’ Justin about that sometime) Even if you’re completely innocent and eventually exonerated, the process is the punishment. Just like a bumpy ride back to the police station is a ‘lesson’ for the town drunk, an IRS audit or FBI investigation is a ‘lesson’ for those who dare stand up to Joe Biden and his Band of Insane Merry Men Penis-having person people who identify as male.
Yes, this is the type of shit that you see in dictatorships and banana republics and all the shitholes of the world where tyranny is always on the menu. The people in charge do whatever they want, and if you speak up about it, they sic the power of the state upon you. This is a tale as old as history itself, and often requires a drastic solution:
Hopefully we can avoid this with fair and free elections this November.
And lastly, I want to give a big thank you to YOU! Screaming into the Void now has over 1,500 subscribers. It seems like just a couple months ago we were celebrating 1,000! I appreciate your ability to handle me ranting. 😉 You’re the real rockstars!
87000 new IRS "agents." We can rest easy knowing they will be busy bringing America back into the black by collecting the impossible amount of 30 trillion dollars from people who can barely afford to fill their gas tanks to travel to their 3 low wage jobs they have to work, to be able to afford food and a place to live. 🙄
The raid of MAL is yet another case study in weaponizing federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents. Meanwhile, the feds continue to turn a blind eye toward Hunter Biden. And now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic.
The FBI is ideologically captured, no different than every other major American institution, including academia and the medical establishment. This has been a decades-long project by the Left. In all likelihood, it'll take just as long to undo.
