The poor FBI just can’t catch a break. Just weeks after the FBI claimed to not know where Hunter’s laptop is, none of the four defendants on trial for the Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot were convicted, with two found not guilty and two mistrials. The jury questioned the extensive presence the FBI had in the plot itself (at least twice as many FBI plants as actual defendants), as well as the ‘fortunate’ coincidence that one of the agents operated a security firm designed to handle exactly this type of plot.
It’s hard to overstate what a blow this is to the FBI’s already-dwindling credibility. Indeed, the entire plot is a throwback to the ‘War on Terror’ days of the FBI planning a ‘terror attack’, only to step in at the last minute and ‘save the day’.
…the circumstances of the case and the megaphone the Justice Department used to publicize it were familiar. As with the prosecutions of more than 350 international terrorism defendants caught in post-9/11 FBI terrorism stings, in which agents or informants provide encouragement and weapons for criminal plots, questions of entrapment quickly emerged in the Wolverine Watchmen case. The FBI had used at least a dozen informants and several undercover agents to build the case. One of the group’s key members, known as “Big Dan,” was an FBI informant. Another, an apparent explosives expert whose role was critical to the alleged kidnapping plan, was in fact an FBI undercover agent.
Indeed, when the leader of the Michigan group — Big Dan — went to the authorities with concerns, the FBI simply started paying him $9,000 a month to become an informant. And inform he did. Thousands and thousands of hours of recordings show Big Dan and other informants strongly pushing the kidnapping plot, even going so far as to ensure the ‘real targets’ didn’t leave the group.
More and more the entire ‘plot’ looks like a politically motivated operation designed to associate GOP voters with ‘domestic terrorists’ just before the 2020 election. In that sense, the operation was a smashing success, as the election was long-over before the malfeasance of the FBI came to light. How many votes did this bogus plot flip? We’ll never know.
And this comes on the heels of FBI ‘mistakes’ (all going in one direction!) in the Carter Page investigation that led to the surveillance of the Trump campaign.
The FBI, inspector general Michael Horowitz found, had changed or withheld significant information used to build its application to surveil Page. The FBI attorney who changed the information is now under criminal investigation.
Collyer called these “troubling instances.”
The court specifically noted on Tuesday new information that should have cast doubt within the FBI about the accuracy of ex-British spy Christopher Steele’s dossier on Donald Trump and Russia, which was cited in the Page warrant.
The FBI withheld information “which was detrimental to their case for believing that Mr. Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power,” Collyer wrote.
And THAT came on the heels of extensive ‘cooperation’ between the Obama administration and the FBI ahead of the 2016 election. Further investigation has also uncovered a link between the FBI, Hillary Clinton, and the infamous Alfa Bank allegations.
In a bombshell filing earlier this week, Durham claimed Sussmann, Joffe and the campaign took part in a “joint venture” to gather and spread dirt about Clinton’s opponent with the assistance of Fusion GPS, which was hired by Perkins Coie and subsequently hired former MI6 spy Christopher Steele to produce his now-infamous dossier of now-debunked allegations about Trump’s links to the Russian government.
At no point did the FBI ask where the information came from, because they didn’t care. The allegation was enough to get the wheels turning, and THAT was enough for the Clinton campaign to ‘leak’ to the press that the FBI was investigating.
As more and more of this information comes to light, it’s clear that the FBI has been weaponized to go after political opponents of The Swamp. Perhaps that’s always been the case. Either way, we need to be aware of the agency’s history when viewing the January 6th debacle.
It was no surprise that protestors arrived at the capitol on January 6th. Everybody in the country knew they were coming. The protestors literally walked by FBI headquarters. Yet we’re supposed to believe that the agency had no presence on the ground during the riot, even as reporters on hidden video admit the opposite?
A national security correspondent for The New York Times said the media’s coverage of the Capitol Riot was “overblown” and that the events of Jan. 6, 2021 were “no big deal,” according to undercover video released Tuesday by Project Veritas.
NYT correspondent Matthew Rosenberg and his colleagues have described the reported presence of FBI plants among the rioters outside of the U.S. Capitol a year earlier as a “reimagining” of the “attack.” But in the Project Veritas video, which appears to have been recorded without his knowledge, Rosenberg paints a different picture and claims that “there were a ton of FBI informants amongst the people who attacked the capitol.”
As a people, we should DEMAND the complete and full release of ALL video evidence from January 6th. (If you’ve got nothing to hide, right government?) It’s beyond clear that those in power will lie, cheat, and obfuscate in order to advance their agenda. The only way to counter such duplicity is complete transparency. If the videos are so damning, surely releasing them will BOLSTER the case, right? Unless the videos aren’t actually damning at all………..
Remember, on January 6th the country was finally going to hear the evidence of election shenanigans. It’s incredibly ‘fortunate’ for the left that presentation of evidence was canceled, and it’s CERTAINLY in the realm of possibility that the entire thing was (yet another) FBI operation. Once we view the thousands of hours of video and come to the conclusion that the January 6th defendants are political prisoners, there’s only one option — disband the FBI completely.
