Hello, Screamers! Believe it or not, it’s been a full two years since the first Screaming into the Void post (6 likes/6 comments), which came about as a result of my Twitter ban (and removal of all my content ☹️). I was banned for repeated instances of spreading malinformation (which is true but inconvenient), and just wanted to get back at the Bully Blue Bird (which is a bird no more). At the time, I figured this ‘Stack would just be mostly raging impotently while nobody listened. (After nearly 18 months on Twitter, I only had roughly 500 followers. Little did we know how much we were being throttled!)
Instead, this community has steadily grown (crazy what happens when you route around the censorship algorithms!) into one of the best on Substack — a place where we can come and freely talk about whatever crazy stuff is going on in clown world. In the last two years the country has undergone a lot of twists and turns (not the good, roller-coaster-style twists and turns), and we’ve been here Screaming about all of them! (Not the good, roller-coaster-style Screaming.)
This means there’s a TON of great content from Screaming into the Void’s first two years — just sitting there waiting for you to read it! (Think of it as my birthday gift to you!) When on the main ‘Stack page, just click on the magnifying glass and enter your search term! Obviously, covid dominated early articles, but you can search for plenty of other topics as well!
Inflation, free speech, the trucker protests, and the FBI are all frequent issues that we Scream about, but searching nearly any current topic should bring up at least a few articles about the subject. Happy reading!
Turning our attention to clown world - DC edition, there’s two stories I want to talk about really quickly. The first is the election of a new Speaker of the House. In case you have better things to do than pay attention to DC, here’s a quick recap of the story so far:
After winning the majority of seats in the House during the 2022 midterms, the GOP went through a few rounds of voting before ultimately electing Kevin McCarthy as Speaker. In the later rounds of that process, McCarthy made specific promises in order to get votes from the remaining GOP holdouts. (To me, the most important among these was the public release of all 1/6 tapes. We’re still waiting.) After McCarthy failed to uphold his end of the deal, a portion of the GOP (many being original McCarthy holdouts who felt betrayed) voted with all participating democrats to remove McCarthy from his role as speaker.
Of course, the media typically fails to mention that Democrats provided nearly all the votes to remove McCarthy:
Now, momentum in the GOP is strongly behind Jim Jordan — he of the angry letter fame — with only a few “divisive holdouts” in the party preventing his election:
Now completing the perfect circle of illogic, Democrats are freaking out about maybe not controlling the guy who Republicans are getting very close to voting in as Speaker:
One might wonder exactly what AOC expected to happen when her party voted McCarthy out of his position? Did she expect that Democrats would be able to choose the next Speaker? If so, well……..that might still happen. The Uniparty always seems to find a “maverick” or two who will “break ranks” and advance the ball downfield. And what does “advancing the ball” look like right now?
Neat. Democrats bravely joining together with Republicans in order to send more of our resources and money prolonging conflicts around the globe……..
Also in DC news, a judge has signed a ‘gag order’ on Donald Trump stemming from his ongoing case regarding the 2020 election. I spent part of the afternoon reading the full 86-page transcript (thank you Julie Kelly!), and I can say for certain that this entire thing is ridiculous.
Trump lawyer John Lauro continuously brings up the difficulty of censoring political speech — especially during an election — only to be shot down by the judge, who continuously assumes Trump’s intentions in order to justify the gag order.
Central to the judge’s reasoning is that government workers shouldn’t be “harassed” for simply doing their jobs. When Lauro argues that he’s been “harassed” for doing his job, the judge states outright that he knew what he was getting into when he agreed to work the case……..
In America one of most basic principles is that you get to speak out against your accuser — especially when political motives are so clearly in play. Yet the court tosses all of that to the side based on the theory that it might be witness intimidation. (I’m sure the same Mike Pence that talks shit about Donald Trump is also terrified of him. Yeah right.) It seems to me like this order is just a trap to put Trump or his team in contempt of court — the next step in the escalation of ultimately removing Trump from the ballot.
“For Democracy,” of course.
(At this point, I’m compelled to mention that there’s no caterwauling about the end of democracy when President Biden issues unconstitutional orders that everybody knows will get tossed immediately…..)
To wrap up the news, Russel Brand recently connected with Matt Taibbi for an hour or so to talk about Tony Fauci and his link to the lab coverup — stuff that’s right up our alley. If you don’t have an hour for the whole conversation, here’s a couple minutes of it:

Happy Birthday. Now, stop wasting electrons with videos of spawn of Satan.
That Julie Kelly has sure grown on me!
