I have noticed strange things about Washington state over the last 20 years. I used to describe the world outside of King County to be hippies with guns that did not trust or like any government.

We protested in the streets against Monsanto, Big Banking and evil corporations.

Now they rewrite the story.

"Protesters focused on issues including workers' rights, sustainable economies, and environmental and social issues"

And will explain the strange driving habit of forming up side by side next to the other vehicle and not letting faster traffic through.

Also after the BLM disruption, police departments pretty much halted traffic stops and the world survived. It is really time to defund the traffic stop system.

'Mackey made some memes before the 2016 suggesting Hillary Clinton supporters could vote by text message.'

I know poll taxes and tests are illegal, but surely anybody who believes they can vote by text message is not someone we want voting anyway.

Hi! If anyone is interested in opting out of Palantir's SAVE database, no problem. They have to comply with your demands to stop collection and delete records in compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974. Here's the catch: it only applies to U.S. Citizens. If you're U.S. Citizen Palantir's records would show they verified your citizenship enough to conform to an opt-out request, but none of those other med records or employment and bank records would get to remain.

Really enjoyed kitty scratching in Just the Right Spot! 😳 And at the end, AOC hamming it up for the camera. And my new eye glasses seem to be working perfectly. 😁👍

I suppose the Mackey appeal is good news, but that there were charges, that a trail ensued and that there was a conviction to appeal is so, so, very wrong. It shows that the most criminal thing about our criminal justice system are prosecutors and judges.

Yep. So many cases go to trial that should have been thrown out at the very first step of the proceedings -- like the guy convicted of not wearing a mask while counting ballots. (IN 2024!)

The jury wasn't even allowed to know there were other people in the room without masks on.

Frightening. And this is the economic imbalance of justice. Only the few have the financial resources to defend themselves effectively. The truth is that for the vast majority, a prosecutor or police chief has the power to force you into compliance with their wishes or destroy you for standing up for what is right. Don't ask me how I know.

I thought I had an insane cat until I saw the back scratch video. I take care of a semi-feral tuxedo cat and when I scratch him above his tail he goes BANANAS. His head starts going from side to side and then one day I heard his teeth chattering. I thought for a minute I was hurting him

I used to have a kitty that reacted the same! Licking the air with a lot of "nom nom nom" sounds. G and B both like it but don't freak out like that.

What happened to the “winter of severe illness and death”? When they were chirping about it, I really thought they’d manufacture something so they didn’t look like mendacious fools when it didn’t happen. I guess I gave them way too much credit!

Weird how seasonality only "works" when it's scary, right?

They never said "the scary winter is over, now comes spring!"

It was only when the scary winter was coming that they mentioned it.

ha! My cat does the mouth twitch when I rub a certain spot...she also has to start licking- it's hilarious! And the jockey that pushes the other one out of the way only to be passed later and ends up at the back of the pack...? So funny! Thanks for the chuckles!

I've seen the face that black cat did, the backscratch-one.

On amphetamine-addicts after a big hit. Scary.

Not positive: some animal has figured out how to steal eggs from one coop. We don't know which animal. Suspects are:

Magpie, squirrel, stoat.

We don't have raccoons or possums here, and a fox or a badger would kill hens, same if it was a larger mustelid of some kind. And since the coop is on stilts and I'm finding the stolen eggs 30' or more away on the outside, with a penny-sized hole in them, the thief must be able to animal-handle the egg safely through the coop to a hole I've yet to locate, without the egg cracking.

Which rules out mice, rats and such. It's weird.

But, positive:

This gives me an excuse to build a new coop and enclosure in a different much more exposed spot, using old wooden cargo pallets that I re-use as material.

Because building stuff is fun.

(Anyone looking for a slogan for your run for office - any level, feel free to use "Because building stuff is fun")

Our happy thing this week was getting out to the ocean for our anniversary for a few days: flying kites, watching the waves and listening to the roar of the ocean, and having dinner at our favorite Irish pub. It was nice to be out there enjoying the marine on-shore flow and out of the muggy air of the South Puget Sound area.
