Happy Screaming Sunday! Hope everybody out there is having a great weekend and getting ready to SMASH the upcoming work week. Today I’m going to take a quick break from the AI series in order to catch up on some stories that have fallen through the cracks while my head was down working on the AI articles.
(This article literally brought to you by the people who decided to upgrade to a paid subscription over the last few days — they enabled me to focus on the ‘Stack “full-time” today instead of ‘writing for others’. So to them, a very special thank you!)
Last week I wrote a quick article about Hunter Biden’s sweetheart deal brokered with the DoJ. (Tereza Coraggio talks about it some here!) Many of you were outraged (as is proper), but in a rare swoop of karmic justice, that was as good as it got for Hunter. Since then, whistleblowers from the IRS have supplied evidence that government was giving Hunter favorable treatment — like the DOJ telling Hunter of an upcoming IRS search of one of his storage units.
This caused US Attorney General Merrick Garland to lash out and defend the Department of Justice as “essential to American democracy.” Give him a listen:
There’s no favoritism in the Department of Justice or the FBI! The cases are brought solely on their merits! These people KEEP US SAFE, FOR GOD’S SAKE! They aren’t interested in political persecutions OR making sweetheart deals! These are VERY SERIOUS PEOPLE.
One problem with Garland’s little speech is that it was made literally the day after he attended a state department dinner………with Hunter Biden.
It’s not a great look.
Obviously, Garland has denied the allegations, but more and more proof is emerging.
Stuff like this, a WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao, his Chinese business partner:
Days later, Hunter got $5.1 million from Chinese firm CEFC Infrastructure Investment — $1.4 million of which got redirected to a consulting firm affiliated with Joe Biden’s brother Jim. (You may remember Jim from the famous “10% held by H for the Big Guy” e-mail. Jim was ALSO getting 10%. What for?)
And THESE revelations are leading to some extremely uncomfortable moments in the White House:
“I am not going to address this issue from this podium. I’m just not gonna do it.”
Excuse me? These people are supposed to work FOR US, not the other way around. Refusing to answer completely valid questions about ties between foreign nationals and the sitting President of the United States is NOT a luxury John Kirby should enjoy.
But since the talking points memo went out, everybody was singing from the same hymnal:
Both Hunter and Joe Biden retreated to Camp David this weekend.
Also not a great look.
House Representative Darrell Issa also claims President Biden has “lawyered up”, although to be fair I have no confirmation of this as of yet.
And this all happening as allegations surface that President Biden was using a “secret global phone” while he was Vice-President.
Peter Schweizer said he shared the “phone number and account information with the people over at the House Oversight Committee.”
“My hope is that the House Oversight Committee will subpoena those records,” Peter Schweizer said.
All of this makes one wonder if the order has been given to throw Biden under the bus. I mean, during the Biden administration have you seen ANYTHING like the press room during that 4-minute clip with KJP? They sounded like real reporters asking real questions! And that certainly makes ME suspicious.
It’s been 10 days since RFK Jr. appeared on Joe Rogan’s massively popular podcast. During the course of the conversation, Rogan offered $100,000 (to charity) if Peter Hotez would come on the show and debate RFK Jr. about vaccines. The pot quickly grew to $1.5 million, but Hotez was not interested.
This is the same Peter Hotez who demanded masks and lockdowns, vaccine mandates, all of it. He told people the vaccine would halt transmission. He got money for gain of function research. In Wuhan.
In the hierarchy of covid malfeasance, Hotez ranks right up there with Fauci himself. (Hotez doesn’t look nearly as good on a magazine cover, though.) And like Fauci, Hotez has never had to face actual questions from a “hostile” audience, instead preferring to go onto shows where the hosts will fawn over him and he won’t be challenged.
And — SURPRISE — that’s exactly what he did, retreating into the safe space of Medhi Hasan and MSNBC. “You can’t debate crazy people, that just gives them a platform!” they parroted in unison like totally sane people. Then the talking points memo went out, and media outlets dutifully agreed that science shouldn’t be debated.
The same people who locked down America, closed schools, demanded that we get jabbed and put masks on our faces — and who constantly went on every friendly media outlet to spew their garbage — now they don’t want to have a debate about those things.
If I was on Hotez’s side of covid, I probably wouldn’t want to have that debate, either. I’d know I was going to get my ass kicked. But that doesn’t mean the debate shouldn’t occur — especially when $1.5 million goes to your favorite charity.
And if we’re being honest, a ton of the questions we have for Hotez and his ilk don’t even require a whole lot of technical knowledge or in-depth, hard-to-understand studies to flesh out. Indeed, we’ve had these same questions for literally years and have STILL gotten no answers.
Why mandate a vaccine that doesn’t stop transmission? (And why did you say that it would?)
Why are we treating everybody as if they have the same risk profile? We’ve known who’s at risk of covid basically since the start of the pandemic. Why was a 25-year-old healthy male treated the same as an 80-year-old nursing home patient? (Trick question, nobody signed an order that would send infected covid patients into the the 25-year-old’s home.)
As a follow-up question, why did we we mandate a vaccine for our military members — who are perhaps the youngest and fittest group of Americans — when we knew that older, obese people were at greatest risk? Especially considering military-age males are particularly susceptible to heart-related issues caused by the vaccine and experienced during times of great stress. (Such as battle.)
We’ve known since the beginning that kids were at basically zero risk from covid itself, yet we forced them into masks, closed schools, and told them they couldn’t see their friends. All of these had massive costs to our children — what data suggested the benefits of these actions outweighed the costs?
Why weren’t we testing for antibodies and acquired (some say “natural”) immunity in patients, instead mandating that people who had recovered from covid ALSO got a full vaccination dose?
Why are we not even keeping track of WHICH vaccine people got?
If “the science was constantly changing”, why did people such as Hotez act as if it were completely settled? Why did government pressure social media sites to ban those who disagreed with the official narrative — which more than once ultimately end up where the ‘skeptics’ started?
These are just a few questions I’d like answered, and I know you guys have some of your own. As I said above, these questions don’t even really deal with the specific efficacy of vaccines — they’re more based around how these charlatans felt justified in upending American life. These questions should have been answered long, long ago.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence has released its report on the origins of covid. This laughingly thin 18-page document (including cover!) has lots of blank space (and pictures!) without coming to a conclusion on the origins of covid.
The IC assesses that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, probably emerged and infected humans through an initial small-scale exposure that occurred no later than November 2019 with the first known cluster of COVID-19 cases arising in Wuhan, China in December 2019.
File under “No shit, Sherlock.” I wonder how much we paid for this pile of crap.
Missing tourists exploring the wreckage of the Titanic were killed when their OceanGate submarine imploded. A part of me is relieved by this news — at least they didn’t have time to understand what was happening. Apparently the media was running all kinds of horror stories about the possible fate of the crew. Normally I wouldn’t even bring something like this up, but turns out the Navy knew the sub had imploded basically immediately. Makes me wonder why we let the world keep hope alive — and initiate search and rescue missions — when we knew the truth.
After spending weeks calling the Wagner Group all sorts of names, the mainstream media pulled a 180 over the weekend when it appeared the mercenaries were turning around and marching on Moscow.
And although the — whatever it really was — is over now, that isn’t stopping the media from cheerleading for escalating the war.
Obviously we don’t know how true ANYTHING coming out of that region of the world is, but I know a couple things for sure: 1) This is not a good reason to escalate anything. 2) The Wagner Group is a whole lot closer to Kiev than they were a week ago.
CNN “personality” (and former Democratic congressman) Adam Kinzinger has an…….interesting take on the recent video showing the totally-not-a-front Patriot Front during a protest in Portland in which some of their members were unmasked:
Ice Cube states he’s not “part of the club of gatekeepers” (and many of us aren’t, either) and is planning on destroying them with a “Fuck the Gatekeepers” podcast tour, during which he will talk to “everybody” and let the world know he thinks.
I have a personal affinity for Ice Cube for his days of rapping about police brutality as part of NWA and afterward. I figure with that record — along with this new podcast tour — I shall bestow to him the title of Honorary Screamer.
You may notice your email version is slightly shorter -- I had to cut some content and then paste it back in after the mail went out so that it would actually send.
I'll fix the video links as soon as Rumble is working again.
Edit: Video links should be fixed. The Patriot Front video should embed properly and now you should be able to click to watch Ice Cube's video as well.
It strikes me that trying to deal with the media is like trying to deal with a zombie horde. They simply do not notice any defensive measures we might take, they keep rolling forward.
