America First Legal released a new set of internal Department of Homeland Security documents this week, further exposing how the DHS sees political enemies of the Biden administration as potential domestic terrorists. The documents also shed light on how the agency is “selling” its desire to turn the American public into a vast array of informants.
Before we get going with this new information, take a gander at this article from last year. It contains the basis of a lot of the stuff I’ll be talking about today, including DHS profiling based on political affiliation or religious values. (One religious value in particular. I bet you can guess which one.)
This particular passage proved prescient:
It’s not even a stretch to imagine this type of government-encouraged citizen surveillance would be used to “report” people going to a political rally — maybe even a DONALD TRUMP rally! Nothing screams seditious conspiracy more than attending a rally of a candidate for president
Because that’s exactly what we see in these new internal documents. A little bit of background: In 2023, DHS set up the “Homeland Intelligence Experts Group” and staffed it with exactly the type of people you’d expect — people like former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan. (Who somehow aren’t rotting in jail for election interference )
And these people talk exactly how you would expect them to talk:
Raise your hand if you’re shocked to see the blatantly partisan ‘experts’ claim Trump supporters are domestic terrorists. I better not see any hands up out there — because Screamers remember when DHS proclaimed “covid misinformation spreaders” were domestic terrorists. (It’s why my profile says ‘Proud "terrorist" undermining government institutions by truthfully pointing out their actions.’)
But it’s not just being a Trump supporter that puts one ‘at risk’ of ending up on the wrong side of a DHS watchlist or two. Being religious (but not THAT religion) is also worrisome. (This must be why Biden is trying to throw anti-abortion protestors in jail for a decade plus — if God is all powerful, praying is the ultimate threat of violence!) Laughably, the documents also claim that FORMER MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY are more likely to be domestic terrorists:
But assuming that’s true — one might wonder what it is about military service that gets people who literally risked their lives for America so upset at the US government.
The thing is, DHS isn’t really looking for TERRORISTS, they are looking for people who are ANTI-GOVERNMENT. Terrorism has a definition, and words mean things:
Generally, terrorists target civilians — who cower in fear based on the threat of violence the terrorists pose — while demanding acquiescence from government. In practice, this looks like Minneapolis being boarded up before the Chauvin verdict, or big blue cities boarding up before the 2020 election. Or maybe it looks like protestors outside the homes of Supreme Court Justices.
Other actions are less clearly domestic terrorism. Pounding on the doors of the Supreme Court? Blocking busy roads leading to airports?
None of those things were done by or because of Trump supporters. Minneapolis wasn’t worried about MAGA descending on the courthouse if Chauvin was found guilty. New York wasn’t boarded up in case Biden won.
There’s simply no way for a right-thinking person to conclude that Trump supporters are the greatest domestic terrorist threat in the country — even when you throw the crumbling January 6th narrative into the equation.
Though from a certain point of view, you can see the logic chain (such as it is) and understand it. If government is America, then obviously things that are anti-government are anti-America, and therefore terrorism.
It’s stupid and wrong, but at least it sort of makes sense. In fact, it’s predictable that a government with the ability to censor speech will very quickly move to censor dissident political speech. It’s why we have a First Amendment.
Just as disturbing was the discussion about how to get more Americans to come forward with “dirt” about these “domestic terrorists” — by reframing the debate entirely and making it about PUBLIC HEALTH:
See, you’re not REPORTING your neighbor, you’re HELPING your neighbor — who is obviously suffering from some sort of MENTAL ILLNESS. Turning him in for wrongthink is actually COMPASSIONATE! (Just don’t ask why he never comes home.)
How does an agency get to the point where it can label over half the country as potential domestic terrorists? First — just like a corporation — you take over HR. Once that’s done, you can’t lose because every new hire shifts the balance of power to your side — and eventually you can ‘weed out’ the people who won’t ‘play ball’:
And here you can see how the game is played. Trump support or anti-vaccine views are basically terrorism, so if anybody — even an FBI agent — vocalizes those views, you call them a terrorist and just run them right out of town.
Biden did it with the military already.
This means that, just like hospitals, the military and FBI/DHS are full of Swamp denizens who have already ‘proven’ their loyalty to the murky depths. And if you happen to notice they’re censoring your opinions or engaging in lawfare, onto the watchlist you go.
So government wants to spy on you, but certainly doesn’t want you to know what they’re up to:
Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I think purposely withholding information from the American people is a heck of a lot worse than complaining about that information being withheld. And it’s hard to see the lawfare, the censorship, and the threats against the American people without coming to the conclusion that the people terrorizing Americans are mostly in Washington DC.

Amid all the jubilation over the fall of the Berlin wall it never occurred to anyone that our rulers would take East Germany as a role model.
But that's apparently what happened.
I would be more worried if they weren’t making a concerted effort to get rid of anybody competent. It’s like one big DEI project writ large and is going to have all the fun and uselessness that goes with it.
