We're supposed to stipulate to "the depths of Trump's corruption". After having been surveilled by the almighty feds, endlessly investigated by any entity that feels like it, undermined by in-house leakers and liars, 24/7 fictional smears in the media and still - NO DICE.

But hey, dead kids & deals with countries who want us gone? No Problem. SICK.

The corpses if children in his basement, I wouldn't have cared...

Hyperbole? Sure. I'd like to kick his teeth in. Not hyperbole

The supposed species of "public intellectual" is nothing more than "posh grifter."

A paragon of New Atheism selling a mindfulness app based on Buddhism, which is, in fact, a religion. Ask Tibetan adherents if there are no deities in Buddhism. It's to Hinduism what the Protestant Reformation is to Catholicism.

Eventually it all gets watered down, as Unitarian-Universalism is to Christianity and as Reconstructionist Judaism is to Orthodox Judaism.

Theology for people who pretend they're intellectually above such stuff.

We all owe Harris a debt of gratitude for saying the quiet part out loud. This is about nothing more than power and the incontestable fact that the rightful welders of that power need to have the proper credentials and pedigree to qualify. only they can be trusted to make the right decisions for the unwashed masses though it is just a curious coincidence that the primary benefactors of those decisions are the ruling class themselves. fuck the kids in the basement, they don't count.

He said if there were dead children it wouldn’t be as bad as Trump. Lunacy.

I pointed out some years ago in his comments that Mr Harris is, at best, a refreshing example of an intelligent person becoming a prisoner of their own flawed reasoning. It almost becomes "I am right because I am Sam"... which is a lesson for all.

I have to add, not through malice, that there are a reasonable few 'intellectuals' that I listen to for insights and opinions, I often agree but not always, Hitchens bro's, Peterson, Sowell.. to name a few. Sam never made my 'go to' list, his reason->rational process was always too vague.

In a debate with Petersen he very nearly said that he 'Sam' was the one who would make all the decisions about what is good.

After all they figure why should they hide anything. They believe the general public are in favor of the evil they are selling. The answer lies in politics, philosophy, education and a true understanding of how it is citizens who rule the world - if it is about a world we actually want to live in. Grow a world like we have and it becomes a lemming rush to suicidal behavior. We must allow for the tendency of humans to behave like herd animals.

I used to love Harris, I now cannot stand him. I feel sick just listening to him.

He has been taken over by extreme Trump Derangement Syndrome and it's destroyed him. I used to enjoy listening to him even if I didn't always agree with him. Not anymore.

Do they even hear themselves? "Whatever horrible thing I do is fine, because I judge this person to be so loathesome!"

So let's just let all the murderers out of jail, because most of them felt that way about whoever they killed.

I recognize Harris's name but don't really know who he is. You can't take seriously any philosophy, or any intellectual, whose morality is based on personalities, not ethics.

I used to really enjoy Sam's podcasts but it seems lately he's losing it. His TDS is powerful strong. Sam lives in a wealthy bubble of Californian intellectuals and has total faith in science to solve all of our problems. On the plus side he looks good with a beard.

He has total faith in the establishment endorsed science, not actual science.

Sam Harris is a philosopher, yet doesn't want to admit that we are in a battle for the philosophical soul of America. It's no longer just about corruption, as in "my guy is less corrupt than your guy". Putting the focus on "corruption" is a deflection away from the root issues. It implies that the system is fine, but for the corruption. Shame on any philosopher with such a ridiculously superficial (and corrupt!) take on our situation today.

Basically. As seen in a Lifetime movie starring, most likely, either Tori Spelling or Tiffani-Amber Thiessen.

Never heard of the guy, but I saw this earlier and was (almost literally) sickened. They feel totally justified and consequence-free. And with good reason, which is terrifying.

I’d say Harris displays weapons-grade stupidity, but he’s no more than a very dull butterknife.

That guy is just bitter because he couldn’t get into Trump U.

I can recall at the time the real estate repo guys were a travelling circus scam. They had a course where they tickled your interest. Then for only $some you could get XX, but for $somemore you get even better XYZ and hand-holding to boot. I'm sure that they attracted a lot of fools and I looked into some of the flip stuff but found it had a lot of pitfalls I was not wanting to discover.

I suspect that the TrumpU was a deal with Trump showing up periodically. There were a lot of ways to fail at those flip scams and I'm sure many did. Whether Trump was really personally involved is unclear. The difference between the travelling circus real estate seminar scams and TrumpU was the name, obviously, and the $some where that was five figures. The circus guys were $some at 3-4 figures.

These schemes all relate to the get rich quick message that some people fall for. Not at all like using politics as a means to give favors for quasi-legal bribes.

IMO the Trump U chicanery should’ve disqualified The Don from ever being president - and Hunter and his pop should be doing time.
