SC - GSB updates with photos & video!!! Mr Whiskers sez it all. Be careful on the walks and THANKS for MAKING MY DAY [Mon] which sometimes goes like this... https://youtu.be/Zo4-XwBCctU?
We had a cat who disappeared one Memorial Day weekend. We had no idea what happened to her. Then, one late afternoon during Labor Day weekend, I heard a meowing at the back porch door. Voila!! There was our Zukie, as in she purred like a Suzuki motorcycle. It turned out the neighbor's visiting friend's kid high jacked the cat! Parents didn't realize until a 100 miles away. So, they kept her and brought her back, and let her go without a single apology, three months later. The funniest part of the story?? She was pregnant (unbeknownst to us) and delivered a batch of kittens, which they kept!!
I'm sure! Imagine being 90 miles down the road, a half hour from home, and there's a commotion in the backseat. As a parent, your head would explode. "What Have You Done!?!?" 😂😂😂 Would love to have been there. "But, she's SO cute."
On Saturday afternoon I saw a pair of ducks--a couple presumably--walk across a city street, unhurriedly, and peck in the grass strip next to the sidewalk.
I have no video, no funny punch line; it was simply interesting to see.
Glad to hear you've recovered. As I commented in your article, your Sunday article made me happy. It also looks as if I have inherited my dead neighbor's cats. I'm calling the calico Brat because she is. The ring-tailed male hasn't got a name yet. They don't come in but they show up regularly for their meals. And I get to pet. Maybe the best of all worlds.
Now that the weather is good, Bonnie prefers the outdoors most of the time -- but when she wants in, she just jumps up on the outside window ledge and gets my attention. Come inside to eat or a quick nap, then back to catting around outside. (It's lizard season, so lots of things to chase!)
You’re walking again - yay! That’s what makes me happy this week!
When I was in my twenties, on Election Day my then-husband voted for our cat as a write-in candidate for Parks Board. The city newspaper next day reported the vote totals for candidates, and mentioned that a “Mr. Texas Bunny” received one vote for office. Clearly, the reporter didn’t quite know how to characterize that candidate - a man, maybe?
I saw vids on twitter during the plandemic in China where the “authorities” were killing peoples pets. The person taking the vid said that-didn’t see the actual killing , bodies. Disgusting! That has stuck w me in all the talk of eat bugs etc.
Well, Stubbs was the mayor of a town in Alaska, so I guess it can be done. I’d have to think a cat would do a better job than most human politicians these days! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stubbs_(cat)
this weekend the blackberries were starting to ripen. I had seen my Tippi (dog) in the patch and wondered, then I saw her carefully grab one and eat it. Better hurry before she gets them all!
oh uh! mine are just wild ones, imported from the soil I had trucked in. At first I tried to get them out, but since close to nothing grows, I just let them be last year, and now I got berries. Are there any berry bushes in the woods near your? I remember them in the woods in Belgium, but of course, it does not get that cold for that long there!
Raspberry and black currant grow wild here, so much that they are sometimes considered weeds, but blackberries just don't seem to be able to handle the frozen ground and the cold.
In southern Sweden, blackberries grow like razorwire-vines, up to four meters high unless tended. I've walked through "tunnels" in one place while out picking when we lived down there.
Probably, what passes for soil here is wrong too; down south, it is chalk/limestone, but here it is moraine, sand and rocks with about 10cm of humus on top.
yes what you describe from Sweden is what we had in Belgium, too, the very high, very though plants. Here in GA we have low growing species, the ones in my yard, barely a foot high and with long above ground shoots, and low growing under ground shoots. Some have regular berries and others just 4 or 5 little balls clumped together, but all are tasty. There is also a species behind me in the waste land, that grows about3 feet high, with stronger thorns and less juicy berries (might be because the soil there is really dry and in full sun). I wish you success in finding some!

Great memes. Loved the dog rescue.
Unfortunately, I don't have any happy stories this week. I live in the SF Bay Area. It did rain though.
Every ballot needs a Sir Whiskers!!!

I can't believe they didn't even apologize, or let their friends (your neighbors) know that your cat was safe!
Our neighbor lady told my mother what happened, AFTER, the people left. My mom was just relieved they didn't bring the kittens, too. 😂
Probably embarrassed

LOL!
Quoting a friend's, friend's, brother, who was obviously brilliant, "People are basically ass holes."

Oh, yeah, that Jessica Jones meme hits me right in the sack. That's the stuff.

Cats for prez. Any cat will do. A whole lot better than what we got now.
Crixyon: At least cats clean themselves and best of all, sleep 20 hours a day. Oh, wait, we already have a president who sleeps 20 hours a day.
A dead aardvark would be better than what we've got now!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 TRUTH!!!

I think I'm still at least a couple weeks away from "recovered", but we're close enough now that I can handle 15 minutes on my feet at once!
Sounds like the perfect kitty relationship!
Yes, no litter boxes!
Keep on keepin' on as we once said.

Don’t be fooled…she’s coming in to cuddle up to her man! #Gstudmuffin!
Glad you are upright, out and about! That’s great news!
I was walking almost normally and doesn't look like there's any bleeding, so that's a great sign :)
Taking care of a friend's older Australian cattle dog this week made me so very happy.

Well, since the focus is on our pets…who saw this UK article on how the Cabal is coming for our pets?

The very idea might help alienate a lot more people from the Net Zero policy.
They're wanting us to be in Hell.
"The politicians said that the bill would identify pet owners in an emergency." They don't even TRY to sound believable.
the guys that saved the dog are great! What a wonderful recovery
The kitty that traveled via Amazon, that is hard to believe, It must have been a big box and the sender was very dumb.
The reunion movie had no sound? but it was just so so emotional. Really such a blessing.
Bonnie and G look quite content. Oh my.
I hope your walk went okay. please ice and elevate after wards (bossy nurse voice)
Happy Monday. It was a hottie here today in Northern Virginia
Walk went pretty well. Sadie (the dog) was happy that I gave her unlimited time to sniff all the poop she wanted :p
🤣

Not-so random question: do you know of any sort of blackberry that can survive in -30C winters, and ground frost for four-five months?
I love blackberries but the sorts I've tried just die when winter comes.

I love black berries. I do not like raspberries at all, they are so sour.
well, Tippi will probably lick them all anyway but that is okay
