My boss's boss said she liked to fill in for him just to hear my excuse for being late that day. I liked thinking I was super creative with the excuses but apparently not.

My latest article dropped on my Substack.

I’m new to Substack, so I don’t know why it didn’t publish to the main feed.

Maybe it was too many photos for email?

Regardless, would like to get it out there.

It seems like it would be something up your alley.

“The omnipresent battlefield” is the name of it.

Sorry, I’m not trying to piggyback off your success, SC… just honestly thought you’d enjoy it, and not want to miss it..

Some email providers won't deliver long messages, but protonmail has never done that to me. It's possible the 'email everybody' button wasn't checked? I know I signed up! Either way, I've added this to my morning links to read, thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the read, sub, and advice.

Seriously, it means a lot.

I’m not sure, the little banner at the top of the article as I was writing it said “too long for email” and it wouldn’t send until I turned off the email everyone portion.

Oh well.

That's weird, it should still let you email a long article (it was definitely the pictures that did it). Most providers will either send a truncated version of the article or the whole thing, but gmail simply won't deliver it.

You should still be able to edit your post and then email it out when you're done (I don't think you even have to change anything?)

What the hell is "CP Time?"

I'm a white woman and I never met a deadline or mandatory work arrival time I couldn't be late for. I have no idea why I never got fired over it (must be white privilege?). I was the only person doing what I did (ordering pharmaceuticals for a large teaching hospital in CA) but the tardiness... When I get somewhere early I usually point it out because it happens so seldom!

As soon as they started calling black people "white supremacists" the gig was up. It was never about skin color and always about "the party".

If this is bringing you down, watch Greg Gutfeld's monologue from Monday night. He starts it out by asking, "So what do you do when you're running out of white racists?" And from off camera comes this huge guffaw. It's Charles Payne, a black anchor from Fox Business Network. It throws Gutfeld for a loop and just makes you laugh. The rest of the monologue and segment are just as good and the fact that we're making fun of this and two black men (Payne and Tyrus) were joining in gives me hope that the craziness we're seeing is the death throes and not the birthing cries of whatever the hell this is.

Warning: incoming rant:

First they want equality before the law.

Then they discover equality means having to compete on the same terms, and that they [the designated victim group in question] come up short, for purely factual reasons.

Then they declare reality "-istic/-phobic", whatever fits the identity of the designated victim group best: sexist when men out-do women in physically demanding jobs, racist when whites out-do blacks, hispanics and latinos (but not asians or jews), and so on.

Then all the competent, principled and of above average intelligence no matter their pigmentation withdraw their support and contribution to society.

Then society starts to crumble into tribalistic strife along artificial manufactured lines of conflict.

Then the woke try to metastasize by moving to areas and nations not yet infected.

Then the cycle begins anew.

There's a reason older societies prized Order and held Order and Freedom as two faces of the same principle, as you cannot have one without the other. Without freedom, you get autocratic tyranny; without order you get chaos - the law of the wild.

And then those who always cause this come crying to those who defend Order: the father, the mother, the soldier and the provider.

In sane cultures, the people who are the cause of societal degeneracy are ostracised and shunned and shut out: in the West they are embraced because the false idol of "rights" is held as an unmutable truth.

On the other hand, the woke are a very little insignificant blip in human history. The inheritors, after the western cultures are extinct probably, won't even mention them in their histories.

I only disagree with you in one area: "Then they discover equality means having to compete on the same terms, and that they [the designated victim group in question] come up short, for purely factual reasons."

I know there are minorities out there that will play the race card when they "come up short," as you say. But at this moment in time, this is more a white liberal attitude, and I would suggest that it is primarily there *because* "black and brown" people were not "coming up short." Instead, they were rising by playing by all the rules of the "white supremacist" system (including being punctual). And iterations of this today are simply white liberal attempts to keep black and brown people *from* succeeding by either (A) giving them an excuse not to put effort into things but still live "the good life" or (B) undercutting those who succeed by suggesting they only did so by "acting white."

That's not disagreeing with me, that's just saying the same thing in a different way: emulating white culture and using that culture as the common denominator and rule (if we stick to the US) enabled all races to rise up and achieve more than their group identity would otherwise offer them.

And that is racist, no matter how you slice it, but it is the good kind of racism: realising and accepting that different cultures are differently able(d) to handle different situations and circumstances.

I just skipped that part, because it didn't fit the style and structure I was going for.

One thing I should have put in just for clarity's sake, not implying you need it but as a general rule, is that this is all on the group level. As they say in pol sci and sociology, "studying an individual says nothing about any group it belongs to: studying a group says nothing about a specific indivdual of the group".

A lot would be gained if the term race the way it is used now in US discourse could go the way of the dodo.

I just came across this, too. Apparently when men respond to being called the problem by quietly dropping out, they are the problem.

https://news.yahoo.com/nyu-professor-says-fewer-men-021341108.html

"We have mating inequality in the country," he said, adding that women with college degrees don't want to partner with men who don't hold a degree.

Maybe the men see how these women come out of college and don't want any part of them. I was always told the number one reason for women to go to college was to find a mate, if that's true then the men are now removing themselves from the market.

Personally, I think men are better off learning a trade and working toward being self-employed. Unless you've already got the elite contacts, or are a genius, you can make more money as a self-employed blue collar worker than a white collar worker.

Yeah, I can't imagine that going to school and getting preached at for 4 years is too appealing.

I've been working for myself for......a while now, and I certainly wouldn't go back. Being self-employed is the best job security ever -- even if idiotic housing drones will turn you down because you don't have 'reliable income.' (Side note: The housing drones only have 'reliable income' when they show up and work -- SAME AS ME!)

Mating inequality, what a wonderful term to use about human beings.

Not even Dr Mengele or other of his ilk expressed themselves like that.

Women don't want to marry down, it's well known and has been for centuries - they want to marry up meaning they want a man who fulfills the criteria for manliness they have been raised to appreicate and that they are genetically wired to like (and us men are even worse when it comes to this, we all know at least one guy who's literally lead around life by his John Thomas).

Grandma used to size up my girlfriends by observing how they behaved around her and granddads house: did they make the bed, help out in the kitchen, offer to clean and so on, or did they sit around doing nothing.

My wife's father sized me up the same way: what am I good for, and am I a good man.

We need - on a civilisaional level- to get back to that. There's no conflict between our sociocultural/biological imperitative heritage and having choice (one of the artificial conflicts mentioned above).

My first car "died" at a gas station. The mechanic recommended junking it. The kid across the street always said he liked my car. So, I walked home, knocked on his door and asked him if he wanted my car. He can buy it for $1, but he'd have to go get it. He drove that car for at least 2 years after that. And I don't think he complained about it.

way cool, roi.

We did the same with my dad's Subaru Forester.

AND my mom's Mercedes.

Both cars were fine, needed some work, my dad used to take BOTH cars to the cheapest place in town in Annapolis Maryland.

We gave the Forester to the boy down the street, he enjoyed it for three years.

The Mercedes.... well, we have it back. We gave it to my son in law, ($1.) and he complained about it, how expensive to maintain, what a headache boo hoo.

So we have it back. Hubbs and I drive it around every day. I actually like it. It was my mom's car. Meantime, my son in law bought a dumb cheap flimsy car, crappy tires, drives totally boring and he is paying a car payment LOLOL

I think the best part of the punctuality part was the first paragraph:

"In the context of punctuality, nonwhite people are held to a much higher standard here than white counterparts. When a nonwhite person is late — even just one time — their white management and colleagues will constantly bombard them with, “Oh, I guess the stereotype is true, Brown people are always late.” Nonwhite people have to work twice as hard to show up on time so that they are not the subject of white people’s racialized expectations of Brown and Black people."

As a former HR Dir, that remark would be an instant lawsuit--if it happened anywhere outside the head of the person thinking that people are thinking that about them.
