The Media Can't Do Anything Right
I guess they provide me with job security - if this is considered a job!
Not much time today, but it’s the perfect chance to touch on some minor stories that aren’t worth a longform article.
Although I don’t much care for the Twitter dramas, I DO love watching the media beclown itself, as CBS News did yesterday:
“….out of an abundance of caution, CBS News is pausing its activity on the social media site….”
What exactly does CBS News think is going to happen if it continues posting on the site? Are they going to get attacked by the new Twitter Mob that Elon Musk has personally unleashed upon good Americans?
Make this quote make sense. I mean it. Try to get the above quote to make any sort of sense. I’ll take a go here:
“Since we lost control of Twitter, users on the site keep blowing giant holes in our stories and calling us fake news. To salvage what we can from our dismal approval rating, we’re retreating to the places where nobody can comment — like cbsnews.com.”
Give it a shot! Nothing you can come up with can make the media worse than it makes itself look, as shown by the continuing Paul Pelosi saga. A couple weeks ago, NBC aired a report providing some of the details in the police report of the incident:
The report was promptly deleted and the reporter suspended. The reason?
"The piece should not have aired because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards."
The issue? It looks like the report was true after all.
It today’s media, you get punished for reporting true but inconvenient things, but rewarded for spewing outright lies. Maybe that’s always been the case.
Another teaser:
(Spoiler alert: It is not the weirdest FTX news so far.)
