Tonight President Biden will give a speech about “The Soul of the Nation”, an incredibly ironic title forecasting a lot of accusations that his political enemies want to destroy the democracy that he’s in the middle of destroying. I’ll be doing a live follow-along, and this is a perfect chance to catch up on some of the previous ones while we wait!
And finally, body cam footage has been released in the case of Donovan Lewis, who was shot by police while in bed. The footage clearly shows the police opening the door to his bedroom and firing nearly instantly when they see him. This is yet another case of police creating the ‘dangerous’ situation and overreacting to it. But, curiously, there’s no massive protests spreading all over the country. No united condemnation from the usual suspects, with calls to take to the streets.
Wonder what’s changed?
