(Apologies if the headline is terrible, blame Google Translate!)
Hope everybody had a great weekend! While I finish up my latest longform article, (should be ready tomorrow?) here’s some stuff I missed from over the weekend.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen threatened Italy on the eve of its election, claiming that the multinational alliance has ‘tools’ to punish Italy if the ‘wrong’ party wins. (She was talking about Giorgia Meloni’s Brother’s of Italy party)
And in a wonderful ‘Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me’, Italy delivered a huge victory to Meloni, setting off a predictable round of articles comparing Meloni to Mussolini. (Maybe this is one of ‘the tools’ that Ursula von der Leyen was talking about? The media certainly IS made up of tools.)
This is simply another case of the ‘leaders’ claiming to be defending democracy when they win, but attacking the process when they lose. Instead of asking questions about the ridiculous rise in popularity of these positions (from what I can tell, mostly anti-EU and anti-immigration), the media just calls the people right wing fanatics.
So now the EU is stuck. Do they follow through on their word to punish Italy for electing the ‘wrong’ party — and in doing so further expose their own hypocrisy?
Long-time readers will know I’m not a huge fan of the FBI, especially the way they’re being run these days. But sometimes even I’m surprised about the depths to which these people will sink. We’ll start with a basic 25-agent raid of a pro-life activist who — according to his lawyer — said he would cooperate months ago.
Josh Hawley is demanding answers from the FBI — and not just about this case. He also wants to know why the FBI had Russian analyst Igor Danchenko, who was neck-deep in the Steele dossier, on its payroll until October 2020. Danchenko was previously investigated while attempting to receive payments for classified information.
Yeah, that’s a bad weekend for the FBI. But it doesn’t even stop there.
Shades of doctors being fired for speaking out against covid protocols, here we see the elimination of anybody in the FBI who dares speak out about the treatment of January 6th prisoners. If you think the agency is bad now, just wait until they drum out any of the remaining good apples.
And finally, an update on the FBI raid of US Private Vaults. After a fruitless investigation into clients of the company, in March 2021, the FBI raided the company itself. From the beginning, there were major issues with the seizure:
So the FBI, knowing it can’t get the warrant to actually take the boxes, gets a warrant to take THE SHELF THE BOXES ARE ON, then claims that since the shelf is gone, they must ‘secure’ the boxes.
How the fuck were these people not already in jail?
But somehow the story gets EVEN WORSE. Now that the FBI has taken the boxes, it claims agents are going to ‘inventory’ them — but internal communications have revealed that the FBI ALWAYS planned on stealing the contents of the boxes. (Shout out to Reason, which has been on this story from the jump)
Alas, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for FBI agents to be punished for blatantly lying to a judge to get a warrant, overstepping the bounds of that warrant, and knowingly stealing the property of innocent people.

Now wouldn’t it be great if the media actually did their fucking job and reported all this FBI malfeasance?? But they won’t, and nothing will happen.
All of this begs the question:
Where the FUCK IS THE GOP?!
