I’m working on a longform article for publication tomorrow, but this just hit my inbox courtesy of valued Screamer Arne:
I like the idea so much I figure that I’d throw out some feelers! I figure we could gather up some questions based on comments, and then whoever wants to answer them could publish on whatever day we decide on? (I’d also be more than happy to host ‘articles’ from people without a ‘Stack if somebody wanted to jump in and answer) If we have a bunch of people participating, maybe we can set some sort of length limit so readers aren’t stuck reading about the same topic all day?
This seems like a fun community exercise, and gives us a chance to dive deeper into some topics and get conversations started around them? What do you guys think?
If you like it, what are some of the questions that you want to see answered? Who are some of the ‘Stackers you’d want to see involved? I figure maybe a week to nail down some questions and then a week for writing? Maybe have the first installment November 4th? Let me know what you think!

i think it's a great idea, but my preference is absolutely not for philosophizing or crystal-balling.
the first substack i subscribed to i think was bad cattitude because of el gato malo's devotion to factual evidence. from his comments section i found you and glad i did so.
a roundtable should in my view serve a useful purpose. we all know now that rough times re coming in many ways. we need trustworthy suggestions and strategies that ordinary people living in a variety of environments can use. those can be strained out through the invitation to submit questions.
the plague era was lousy. things haven't gotten better--just a bit differently worser. how do we in actual practical ways reverse that?
How do we stop this? How do we hold those behind this accountable? How do we hold those who enforced this accountable?
