Here’s a thread for discussing the results of the US midterms as they come in. Polls are closing in earnest in a few minutes, and there should be a lot to discuss. I’ll get the ball rolling on predictions: before the end of the month, there will be serious media discussion about replacing Joe Biden as president.

Hmm...looking for silver lining, I think I found me a pot of gold.
We Learned that margin of victory in Congressional races narrowed significantly. We learned that the power of incumbency is undiminished. We need to recall that all politics is local, and typically Americans hold Congress in contempt, but most like their own representatives.
We learned that Democrats can be defeated - see the Senator in Nevada and Senator Murkowski in Alaska (don't be fooled by the R after her name).
