The magic act of Covid vanishing from media view and public perception is not due to any medical miracle or the natural trajectory of a virus losing its potency. The urgent message that we must take from these past two years is that we are under sustained psychological warfare and have been for quite some time.

Nothing has been won until the ideology that the state can have control over bodily autonomy has been thoroughly repudiated.
This story is not finished until the individuals and institutions that deceived the public, censored and persecuted dissenting voices over the past two years are publicly held accountable.

I declared a state of emergency for myself years ago and it had nothing to do with viruses, financial crisis, climate change, LGBTQ, racism or any of the other things that governments consider a state of "emergency". I've had it with these politicians thinking that they know what's best because their number one achievement in their entire lives was winning an election. Ef em. My vote? For myself, my community and my loved ones to live our lives without them (politicians, "officials", leaders, etc) and their assumed "powers".

I know here in PA, our Republican led legislature did some of their job and wrestled some power back from Wolf. I feel slightly more optimistic about the balance and about protection going forward. There's still a ton of work to be done, but I think PA is heading in the right direction.
BUT, it has to be everywhere. Starting at our local level, in our schools... Everywhere. The place we don't demand control is the place they will take that control.
It's despicable the way that Inslee harps on Republicans and depicts them all as being Trumpists. He's dismissive of them because he no longer sees them as fellow human beings. The same with those who question his emergency authority or masking/shutdown rationale. He is a petty tyrant.
Maybe we'll learn from this self inflicted disaster that there is no emergency that can justify surrendering our freedom to any government. Maybe not.
