It Sure Is Monday
It sure is
(Note for new subscribers: On Monday, I recap some of the positive stories/funny memes I’ve come across in the last week. Feel free to add your own in the comments!)
We’ve made it to another Monday, Screamers! Hope that your holiday season isn’t too busy for a round of pawsitivity! Today we start with the cold open for this week’s “Saturday Night Live”. I don’t want to spoil anything if you haven’t seen it — but I will say it’s a spoof of the hearing I wrote about this weekend:
What the heck is the most unfunny skit in SNL history — which is really saying something — doing leading off this week’s pawsitivity post? It’s a near-perfect example of the point I made in this post about the need of collectivists to run EVERYTHING through a political filter. The end result is that they’re completely unable to actually convey humor — which to a large extent is dancing across the line from ‘acceptable’ conversation into the risky or forbidden. There was certainly plenty of material to work with from that hearing, but the politics of the show prevented a creation of THAT skit — instead those politics demanded what we eventually got.
It’s hard to see this as anything but the continued acceleration of the demise of the wokescolds.
Also this weekend, “60 Minutes” dropped an interview with (unvaxxed) tennis stud Novak Djokovic. When the topic of vaccinations came up, Djokovic sounded like every sane person in 2019:
Djokovic skipped tournaments instead of relenting to the pressure — and now he’s back to winning them. (Making Bill Gates very very sad:)
Oh no! I just found out……
I guess we have no choice but to bomb!
As we ready another round of cash for Ukraine, it’s important to remember the wisdom shared by Ron Paul:
When you ask if she’s ready to get out of bed, but she really really isn’t:
“……….I guess I’ll stay in bed too.”
Little-known fact: The world’s best cat toy is another cat. (Best without sound)
It’s that time of year again………
I love the kitty at 0:12.
“Challenge accepted.”
Dogs are getting into the spirit of the season as well!
Of course, not everybody has time to goof around this winter:
Finally, we have a new video of Bonnie! She’s been coming into my room to drink from the fountain — which I showed last week — and yesterday she found the cat toys!
That’s all for me — what made you happy this week?

the happy part? i can still remember when SNL was funny.
the bad part? i am that old.
Oh my gosh, could you just imagine your dog sledding all day while you went to work? Or the kids watching out of the school window.
Bonnie loves a "dingbell" toy - is what we call them While playing your video, Princess came running up to find the dingbell.
The Christmas trees are hilarious. I have to laugh at the person that put a heavy plastic fence around their tree and the cat is looking pretty interested in that challenge.
I do not mind the climbing, it is the chewing. I love the kitty running off with the red garland
NOTHING IS GREAT over here.
NO, really THERE IS, last week I found a relatively warm dry window of time to plant 100+ yellow tulips in honor of my daddy. ~ and mom too. Both of them were amazing. I have such a shitty family no one (and this is obviously selfish unawareness from family) thanked me or appreciated the past TEN years caring for mom and dad. I just went through some old yearly daily diaries (the weekly kind) to cut out cute pictures made my dutch artist Marjolein Bastin. Each week I had 3 or 4 appointments to take my parents to. I spent 10 years caring for my parents.
Anyway, grumble grumble.
What else is horrible, Oh I have never been to probate court. Dad forgot three of his CDs to be poured into the trust account. We discovered them... and now my sis and I get to go to probate court tomorrow and do a bunch of legal shit and pay them $$$
Okay, now the good stuff.
My hubbs still loves me and helps me with this irrevocable trust paperwork doing the work that makes my head explode. I am grateful for that.
Also, my older daughter is wonderful and her daughters love me and send us snail mail pictures and love notes.
I am rambling. Happy Monday everyone.
