Sorry to hear you're under the weather! Pop a couple of ivermectins!

Europe of the 20s, 30s, and 40s had their Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and Spain, and Bolshevik Russia... the Middle East of today has their Zionist Israel and their Islamic theocracy of which Iran is the most prominate and powerful... both Israel and Iran need to be slapped to the ground and stomped until they both bleed from their asses... then maybe they'll both stop their stupid shit... I'm no fan of war... been there, done that... Vietnam... but I do believe that once war has begun, fight with no quarter given... kill everything that opposes you... man, woman, child, dog, cat, chicken, goat... ANYTHING that opposes you. Raze the enemy's earth and paint it red with their blood... surpass the enemy's threshold of pain to such a level of pain that they never again want to experience it. jmo.

I only have one thing to say... the USS Liberty... Oops! Sorry about that, Israel... Not!

I have gotten disagreement on a couple of substacks over my continuing disapproval of the War in Iran. I am glad we got our shot-down pilot back, but if we had never had a war, there would be no need to retrieve the downed pilot.

SimulationCommander's avatar

Exactly. These are the things that happen in war and you need to expect them -- sort of like blowing up schools.

If you don't like the idea of blowing up school girls, don't go to war!

Trump today: "If it were up to me, I’d take the oil. I’d keep the oil. I would make plenty of money."

We're all in this together, right?

SimulationCommander's avatar

As if we could just "take the oil" in the first place

EK MtnTime's avatar

Glad you think you are on the mend! No fun being sick!

SimulationCommander's avatar

Definitely (still) on the upswing today!

Warmek's avatar

Yeah, I am also exhausted today, which is why I'm replying in the middle of the day.

I'm glad we got our guy back. That's all I have the brain for right now.

As to the Finn study, yes it seems common sense that you can't treat mental illness with surgery, we used to understand officially that this was a bad thing.

It was always going to end poorly.

Blowing up electricity generation plants and the grid in Iran is also going to end poorly, really hope that idea goes away.

Then it will be water.

Once electricity and water are removed, it will be a disaster like never seen before.

Need to step back from that one

Sim Comm… you do seem susceptible to seasonal bugs…. Mom here… do you take Zinc? Or drink EmergenC?? I don’t do flu shots but take Zinc with Quercitin daily and drink an EmergenC every other day…so far, we have not caught anything.. feel better!

SimulationCommander's avatar

I take some Vitamin D/K2 every day but that's about it. There was no avoiding this one, though -- I caught it about 2 days after my housemate came down with it. (This is why I don't believe the "viruses aren't even real" line)

Mrs. McFarland's avatar

I stopped reading anything about “viruses are not real” years ago….speedy recovery!

The Great Resist's avatar

Another Mom here… I’m a firm believer in vitamin C vitamin C vitamin C. And then more vitamin C. Here are two very interesting posts on stopping viral infections in their tracks using vitamin C (ascorbic acid) by Adam Gaertner (aka Very Virology) and Dr. Syed Haider:

https://veryvirology.substack.com/p/the-universal-antiviral-protocol

https://syedhaider.substack.com/p/is-high-dose-vitamin-c-a-panacea

I’m not a doctor, this is not medical advice, etc. etc.

I wrote a summary of the gist of these articles for my mom. If you’re interested, lmk and I’ll post it. Or AI could summarize them better.

I will say from my experience that Gaertner’s method of quite a bit of C every few hours is easier on the gut than Haider’s method of a whole lot of C all at once.

Hope you feel better soon!

At this point I think I'm 15% Orange Juice.

Wellp, original COVID-19 apparently had an incubation period over a week!

SimulationCommander's avatar

Yeah I have no idea if this is covid or not (still taken 0 covid tests), but it felt really similar. Feel really bad for a day, feel mostly bad for a day, feel kinda bad for a day, feel a little bad for a day (we are here!)

Jimmy Gleeson's avatar

Does a "Covid" test actually measure a "novel, deadly virus?"

SimulationCommander's avatar

Our bodies don't think it was very novel or deadly!

I'm with you. It doesn't become tomorrow until I've slept on it a little. Feel better soon.

I read that yesterday! I was going to comment by my mouse was so far away and I was under the covers. Expect something today :)

SCA's avatar

I stopped weeping once I knew that you'd been under the weather.

SimulationCommander's avatar

Hey! Don't make me laugh so early!

Good thing I haven't gotten to the coffee yet. (Still unsure if it's a good idea)

SCA's avatar

Tea! Coffee is for other purposes.

SimulationCommander's avatar

That's what I'm leaning toward for now. If I can pry myself out of the chair.

Both Ukraine and America seem perfectly happy to continue that war forever, making me wonder how exactly it's going to end.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to take away from 14 seconds worth of Graham's statement. He could do worse than to expect Lebanon's leadership to resist control by its terrorist factions.

SimulationCommander's avatar

I mean...how well has the Trump administration been doing with our own little homegrown terrorists? Should Mexico step in?

https://hoodline.com/2026/04/portland-mayor-s-porch-protest-ends-with-vase-smash-arrest/

The rally started at Wilshire Park, then marched to Wilson’s house as organizers pushed their central demand: that the city pull the land-use permit for Portland’s lone ICE facility.

Portland Police Bureau Sgt. Kevin Allen told KOIN that officers were already monitoring the demonstration when they saw the woman toss a glass object, described as resembling a flower vase, onto the mayor’s porch. It shattered, and officers moved in to detain her.

Allen said the bureau “witnessed the crime taking place” and noted that there was no documented damage to the house itself, according to KOIN. The woman was cited on allegations of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespassing.

The Radical Individualist's avatar

????

Lots of distinctions to be made, but presumably (not certain) the woman was not part of a government sponsored terrorist group. Presumably, if she WAS part of a terrorist group, that group didn't have a seat in Congress.

In Lebanon, such people are paid, and their organization has a seat or two in government. That's the distinction that Graham was making.

SimulationCommander's avatar

Antifa is a terrorist group, and they're still at it.

https://x.com/MrAndyNgo/status/2041161253922443726

"The woman was cited on allegations of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespassing."

That'll teach her.

Your other points are well-taken.

The Radical Individualist's avatar

And you make a good point. We don't need to go to Lebanon to see state sponsored terrorism.

Rikard's avatar

"...how exactly we’re going to stop them from continuing."

Why should you? Both sides' leadership seem perfectly happy to keep murdering each other's civilians, so let them get on with it.

There're only three options for the Middle East, when it comes to intervention by Western nations:

Rameses II, Alexander and the Romans.

Depopulation - Decimation - Military dictatorship

And that's currently out of fashion, so...

...since every military planner outside the USA has realised since 1970 or so that powerful as the USA military is, it and the nation itself doesn't have the stomach to take losses in the hundreds of thousands or commit to enacting real atrocities - and so the strategy will always be to outlast, to make the USA bleed money (million-dollar drones vs thousand dollar drones is a losing equation, as Russia is finding out in the Ukraine), and to target the money*.

---

That Finnish study... it makes you sick, doesn't it, that "it's not real" unless there's been science done to it. 'S like that old study on why dogs dance around before taking a dump: the dance correlates to them trying to s(h)it at a North-South axis. Won the researcher an IgNobel-prize too, if I remember correctly.

At least it's better than TheScience(tm).

Go Vance! Turn over those stones and put a gas-torch to the roaches that start scurrying from the light! I really hope Trump can restrain himself from sabotaging a future Vance-run at the position of POTUS.

Get better. "VVS" as we say here, a pun on "Värme Vila Sömn" being the best remedy for colds and such, means "Warmth Rest Sleep". VVS also means "Värme Vatten Sanitet", meaning heating, plumbing, and lavatories.

*Swedish has the same word for scrotum/ballsack as it does for money-pouch: "pung". It's old-old, letting us know that the ancestors knew how to hit where it hurts the most.

I certainly got a lot of sleep, and piled the covers on. Today I can breathe through my nose, so I figure I'm just about out of the woods.
