Trump apologizing is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN…ever. So there is no point in talking about it.

Democrats are already saying they'll save Johnson because he's the best Democratic speaker they've had in decades.

Yes. That's why only Massie joined Green. Massie's new tack here is to enlist more Republicans into swaying Johnson through arm-twisting. Until a new Congress, it's about all libertarian (Freedom Caucus) Republicans have left, after all the traitors have jumped ship.

RFK is not a Democrat Fascist, but he also is not a libertarian.

And it looks like he realizes that replacing Biden is his only chance, so why shouldn't Trump attack him?

Meanwhile, DJT certainly does want our votes:

I don't care about the attack on RFK so much as him still insisting OWS was wonderful.

I won't lie, I am stoked that he's going to the convention.

Agreed.

I just am still convinced that DJT is more libertarian overall than RFK (and Gabbard, for that matter).

RFK still wants to reform the Democrat Party like I want libertarians to continue to reform the Republican.

Secretly (shh!), I would rather RFK leave the Dems (like Gabbard has) and make a play to be named Trump's VP!

(You heard I was crazy, right?)

Trump asked Kennedy?

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4595085-rfk-jr-trump-vp-2024-campaign/

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday alleged in a social media post that allies of former President Trump reached out to him about joining the Republican presidential ticket as Trump’s running mate, something the former president’s campaign has denied.

Kennedy’s assertion comes as Trump has in recent weeks more directly attacked Kennedy as a liberal as he pursues his independent presidential bid.

“President Trump calls me an ultra-left radical. I’m soooo liberal that his emissaries asked me to be his VP. I respectfully declined the offer,” Kennedy wrote on the social platform X. “I am against President Trump, and President Biden can’t win. Judging by his new website, it looks like President Trump knows who actually can beat him.”

Oh my, such a rich field of targets of opportunity!

The irony on the Trump post is that other than his failing to admit dupped-ness on the vaccine, the rest of his post was shockingly accurate. RFKj is really personable, and says some of the right things, but his record is too consistent with his former party on too many things. His assertion that Newsom is the worst governor our state has endured may be arguable, if we consider Gray Davis, but a case can be made that Newsom has done more harm. So I could concede this one to DT - certainly Newsom continues to do damage whereas Davis is no longer our problem.

The ability of politicians and the media to lie overtly and without shame is to be expected. Where we once could expect twisting the truth into pretzel shaped irrationalities we now expect simply "saying stuff" without even the respect given to the listener to hide the absurdity. Newsom saying we've got the best economy in the history of economies, and Trudeau defending the right of Canadians to disagree with him, are totally predictable. And why we should generally ignore what they say and refer to what they've actually done (which is almost always the opposite of their words).

At the end of 2019 it seemed unlikely Trump could be beaten in a general election. Energy policy, corporate tax reform that brought the US more competitive with other regions, these things resulted in growth of real, good paying jobs, and freed the US and much of Europe from the grasp of OPEC and Russia. We had fewer US troops in war zones - there were fewer war zones worldwide. Growth was positive and real. Inflation was low, and for many peoples' real lives, negative, as in cost of living was declining (lower fuel prices helped everything). It was dire times for Trump opponents.

That all changed in 2020. Trump fell for it, as you observed. Though he stopped short of mandating shutdowns and vaccines, state governors in lockstep did that. For The Party - those mainstream to whom Trump was the ultimate threat - things were good. Jobs "problem" solved. Growth negated. Let us not forget that Trump fell for the "relief" spending as well - massive new spending crossed his desk without veto. Not as much as in 2021 for sure, but more than a prudent president should have allowed. My main fault with President Trump was the number of vetoes he issued - zero. Even if his advisors told him overrides were assured, IMO make Congress do it.

I agree that The Party set the stage the policies of 2021-2024. The GOP and D party rallied around a common goal: stop Trump. Nothing as too extreme or damaging in pursuit of that goal. Yet the more outrageous the attack, the more support DT seems to get from potential voters. What is really frightening is the evidence that our federal courts are corrupt beyond repair. The tacit support of suppressing opposition, and of prosecuting those who question election results as criminals, would have been unthinkable in any free nation 50 years ago.

I think even if Trump were better at campaigning, the chances of victory in November is slim. I don't think we've seen the extremes to which "stop Trump" will go. My one hope is that it goes so far overtly that many more Americans wake up to the reality that their vote is being suppressed, that their elections have been corrupted and the power of the people eliminated. It might be too late to reverse, but awareness is a good start.

Yes, there were numerous orders about non-essential government workers and (IIRC) state-run nursing homes, but nothing like a full lockdown.

Found a fairly hostile article that goes over the orders here:

https://www.inforum.com/news/a-look-at-gov-noems-claims-that-sd-never-shut-down-for-covid

And her most noteworthy action came on April 11, 2020, when she and Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken reacted to a hot-spot at the massive pork slaughterhouse Smithfield's in Sioux Falls , one that would eventually see over 1,000 workers infected and some dying, by writing to the meat processing company's CEO asking for them to shut the facility down.

A day later, Smithfield executives announced the plant would close indefinitely. It wasn't until a month later that a reopening plan would emerge.

I'm kind of enjoying the temper tantrums that are breaking out at the Colleges and Universities. When these "institutions" teach America-hating Communism for a couple of generations, what did they expect ? Reap what you sow, MF'ers. You created these toddlers, so you get to deal with them. Hopefully, this wakes up some of the Normie Norms out there on what is actually going on at these places of "higher learning". Pro tip : It is NOT critical thinking skills.

In the upcoming election there is no "win" for the American people.

The same "string pullers" are behind both parties, and both candidates, the only argument is over how they collapse the economy. Like Rush Limbaugh would say, "Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic."

The Biden crew is going to keep things going just the way they are and advancing the "green" nonsense -- printing tons of money and crashing the economy.

The Trump crew is going to fund overseas nonsense like Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan -- printing tons of money and crashing the economy.

Either way the money printing continues. Money printing is what will sink the economy.

When the US is no longer the reserve currency, that's when things get nasty. And this has been long in the works.

I want to vote "Both of the above"?

With "Incredible genius reality" and "Incredibly stupid satire " added as alternatives. Or I will tape myself to the kitchen counter! So there!

Jus' trying to sum up the message and maturity of these protestors.

That woman with a face and an attitude in need of adjustment made me think of a bunch of looneys we had here - briefly - in the 1990s. They had sit-downs in crowded intersections, demanding no cars allowed in the city center of Stockholm. Including ambulances, taxis, deliveries and so on. Bicycles was their alternative to fire trucks.

Is it wrong that I want to give them a sharp tap on the temple with a tire iron? They can't get worse from it.

About that woman and her dog. Sometimes, dogs can have some kind of brain damage that makes them impossible. Not saying this is the case here, but it can happen. I know of one case where the dog had several hundred percent higher levels of male growth hormone - some kind of genetic defect leading to hyperproduction. It had behaviour reminiscent of a roided up gym-bro. Castration at age 1½ didn't help since the damage was already done by then.

Very sad.

In the case of this prospect-VP however, given her profession, age, class and sex I'm inclined to believe that she simply found it too much of a hassle. Here's to hoping that she doesn't have kids...

Trump needs to never again say a word about vaccines. If warp speed comes up, acknowledge and claim he got the red tape cut to allow the pharma industry a clear path to release a cure. Everyone was hungry for that at the time. Be very clear you would have NEVER allowed a mandate to 2 tiered society, but aside from when he’s confronted, he need to DROP it. It’s a huge liability with his base if he keeps acting like it worked. It didn’t and it has done tremendous harm!
