Butch Lewis Act Just Another Big Government Giveaway
Plus updates on farmer protests, Hunter Biden, and more!
Yesterday I posted Biden’s tweet about the act. Now that I’ve had some time to digest the information, I’m even more disgusted than I was yesterday, when I was simply trying to compare losing your savings via inflation against losing your savings via pension collapse. (cliff notes: nobody cares why they lost their savings)
But after reading the text, this really REALLY seems like another taxpayer-funded bailout of a politically favored class. The cynical side (lol) of me thinks this is also a political ploy to attempt to lure the type of blue-collar workers earning a pension back into the fold. With Biden continuing to crater in the polls before midterms, I’d expect more vote-buying schemes in the near future. I wouldn’t even rule out some sort of ‘inflation relief’ check.
Arguably the worst part of these bailout schemes is the way they ultimately condone terrible decisions. The bankers didn’t really pay a price in 2008, and public pensions got their bailout in 2021. Why would these people change their ways, knowing that Uncle Sam will always be there to bail them out (with our money) when things go sideways? (The same question applies to people who use political entities as weapons, or use shady dropboxes and rule changes in the ‘cleanest election ever’)
Also yesterday, I talked about the Dutch farmer protests. They have now spread to (at least) Italy, Germany, and Poland.
In Hunter Biden news, the White House refuses to answer questions Joe Biden leaving a voicemail to his son discussing his business dealings, contrary to very public statements that the two never discussed Hunter’s business.
Psaki looks like Honest Abe compared to Karine Jean-Pierre. Looks like she ducked out of town at the perfect time.
Bonus Hunter news! New videos have surfaced showing him smoking crack and drinking White Claw (I shit you not) WHILE IN REHAB. This guy’s living the crackhead dream! Or he would be, if we would just shut up about all the corruption.
And finally today, it turns out that more than 5 million barrels of oil recently released from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve were shipped overseas — at least some of it bound for China.
Still think this is just typical government incompetence?
"The cynical side (lol) of me..."
lol is right!
Well, yeah, actually...
Once upon a time, Great Britain and Holland ruled the world because of guys with ledgers and quill pens.
And then, generation after generation, the people in charge thought they needed to invest in fancier toys and battalions of credentialed experts to do stuff the Chinese and Babylonians and Persians had been doing for eons, with parchment and scratchy-thingies, which were just first-level ledgers and quill pens, and yet more than sufficient for the purpose.
They are morons. The guys play-acting in fancy robes at fancy dinners in Davos are emotionally still 12 yrs. old. What 12-yr. old kid doesn't want to rule the world?
We didn't start fighting back early enough, and the farmers have been slow to see the orcs on the horizon, but they done sure woke up now.
Our job to make sure they don't run out of resources and other support, like the Canadian truckers did. That's a real disgrace and almost no one even remembers them now. Maybe the Europeans will be tougher.
