From a comment below:

Bonnie got me just right and the little tiny poke turned into a pretty nasty infection, right on the flexible part of the hamstring. It's (very) slowly getting better, but I have to resist my natural urge to 'test it out', because every time it splits open the timetable gets pushed backward.

SC - Thanks, sorry to hear that. With cats that go outdoors always irrigate the wound, no matter how small, with hydrogen peroxide then apply antibiotic ointment. If the papule becomes excessively swollen, drains pus or you get flu like, hit the azithro or doxy. Otherwise you might get infected or... https://youtu.be/I47floRRAFs?

Luckily, I got there eventually so now the infection is gone and I just have to wait for the healing.

This made me happy this week. The song is called "If That Cat Could Talk". It even mentions Tuscon. There are better versions, but this one is cute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTGlt3gLC0M

Here's the whole song without the commentary. https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=cat%20named%20kalamazoo&mid=1363EAF86D9A3C12CFC61363EAF86D9A3C12CFC6&ajaxhist=0

Hoyt played a gig in Tucson in 1979, and a local radio station played a whole bloc of his songs as a promotion. In fact, I believe it was the 'Rusty Old Halo' album, because looking at the track list, all those other songs were on the cassette too.

My stepmother taped the whole radio show on her boombox. I 'borrowed' the cassette when I started at UA in the spring of '80. Had it for years.

I always pictured the deadly drama playing out at the Bashful Bandit on Speedway, though the Bandit was a biker bar tending more to hard rock than 'cowboy songs.'

But we'll never know, cuz that cat was cool, and never said a mumblin' word.

This says the album "A Rusty Old Halo" was released in 1980, and "Della and the Dealer" was the second track.

This page says 1979:

Thanks. What was I doing in 1979 to have heard that song amidst the operas and classical concerts? LOL. I must have broken away to have some fun or something.

Thanks for the pawsitivity! SC, I think you outdid yourself! Almost too much fun for one day!! I took a break from the computer for a couple of days. It was wonderful! Much reading. On a Kindle. I fought ereaders until I ran out of space for regular books. Watching that trooper pick up and carry that dumb@$$ protester just may be the crown jewel though! Act like a baby, be treated like a baby!! 'Waaaaah!! I'm a liberal! You can't touch me! Waaaaaah!! Oh sh1t!'

Re: the protestor hauled off by police. He seems like someone who would have taken part in the CIA's domestic color revolution in 2020 (i.e., the George Floyd protests) thinking it was a real resistance. He never expected any consequences, and is shocked, SHOCKED, that the police hurt people who actually get in the way of the State's agenda. This is a teaching moment. Hopefully he wasn't also fervently in favor of lockdowns and mandates in 2021-2023.

I have been off in outer space I guess I must have missed the post of your injury? did you trip over a cat, or sprain your ankle? What ever it was, I know it sucked. Recovery is so annoying.

I banged my knee a few months ago, on the front stoop dragging some Purple Heart stuff to the driveway. it hurt like crap and I pretended that I was not injured but ,..... I spent three days on the couch binding quilts. ice and elevated. Sucked, but the kitties liked it

I enjoyed looking at the videos.

Biden is a dope. Howard Stern was gushing over stupid Joe today. as if Howard Stern has any skeletons to hide.... called him all sorts of mushy adjectives, I heard it on Bongino driving home from an errand.

That Biden interview with Stern was embarrassing. Nothing but the same BS he's been spouting for the last 3 years -- with Stern nodding along like an idiot.

Hey, I keep a supply of Amoxicillin on hand for just such a thing as I too have cats. You can get it online from any pet meds supply stores, (Walmart pet meds) for instance. It's supposed to be for fish, but, it's Human Grade Amoxicillin, 500 mg capsules. Any flesh wounds that look like they might be infected, take 2 caps a day, for 5-10 days. It's also good for cats with an upper respiratory infection. Weepy eyes is a sign, with crusting in the corners. 5-10 mg per pound of cat is recommended. I pour out the capsules on a plate, device the med into smaller, and smaller doses, then mix with a little canned cat food.
