I came to Phoenix for a medical procedure and was gone for 3 days. Snoots got angry and tore up his scratch pad. But he also did damage on a chair that he KNOWS he is not supposed to scratch. But that's nothing compared with what those dogs did. So he's sitting in my lap as I'm catching up on emails. Phoenix looks a lot better than Albuquerque. Hotter, drier, but more things blooming. Not so many trails in the sky. In fact, very few. Breakfast at The Farm, wonderful!
Waiting for the pathology reports. It's skin stuff. I'll have to go back for the actual surgery. I asked why they couldn't simply remove the lesion. She told me the insurance requires a biopsy. The insurance. The doctors require a huge payment, so they have to depend on rules handed down by insurance. OK, then. Rant over.
I think that they do what they want to do. Advocating for ourselves does not get any easier as we get older but it is certainly worth it. I try to do it in a nice way but once I had a lump removal by a doctor who was angry at me for advocating for myself so I left the medical group entirely because he was too much like the rest of them. Then I met a few people who had been employees there and saw the pattern. One must get what one needs, even if it takes practice to say it in a way that they both listen and are not offended. I have one doctor who should be the "poster boy" for all doctors. I could call him on my cell if I wanted but never would.
I've had collisions with a lot of doctors. I also worked with a bunch of PhDs including my husband. Doctors vs. doctors. But I've had some treasured MDs as well. I found a very good one recently. Yay. I had an excellent one, but she retired. She still consults though.
I would certainly rather get straight to the objective with all of my doctors... my overall health! Sadly, we deal with egos. The egos in the PHD world can also be challenging. Then again, EGOS. Everywhere.
I lived in Amelia Island Florida for a spell… one of the highlights was three times helping “ the Turtle Lady.” In the summer when it gets toasty, the baby turtles risk “ frying” if they start their journey after sunrise… our job was to pick them up, place them in a metal bucket and carry them out behind the surf break…. Such a thrill!
Thanks SC. I needed a laugh. I'm helping a friend with a sick goose, got covered in ballistic goose squits (which smell like the nastiest diarrhea you ever changed out of a diaper) and had to drive home wet after hosing myself down outside in cold water. I was speeding and would have made any cop who pulled me over sniff that at least once while giving my excuses...
PS: saw a 'Chug' puppy this weekend. half chihuahua, half pug. It's little wrinkled face was hard to resist.
I teeter between “just let the free market work” and “we have royally messed up the world, so now it’s our responsibility to micromanage it”, re:sea turtles, coral reefs, aquifers et al diversion, deer et al culling, French bulldogs…
p.s. I didn't watch the one labeled scary. I am very vulnerable post-surgery. But Amazing Grace is flowing through my head and the image of the rainbow above the cellist remains. God Bless You and Yours.
My guess is a baby wolverine? Cute but mean attitude!
Happy Monday all.
I did eat a lot of easter m+ms today.
I also went to Costco for stuff, and Homie Depot for mulch and flowers to spruce up the yard.
I also made a nutty little fence around the newly planted flowers in the back yard, used some metal flimsy things and found some netting. What a long endeavor. I came in several times to have some m+ms and coffee.
Our house in not on the market yet, so whatever.
The guy across the street diagonally had delivered about 8+ LARGE pallets of black mulch in 2 cu.ft bags. Just huh? That is a lot of mulch. I mean, probably more space that a Chevy Suburban. I wonder how long it will take him to get that stuff to the back yard. I do not see a lot of area that he would need so much mulch. haha curious neighbors doing odd things.
I hope everyone is doing okee dokee
We are buying our house in about three weeks. Paying cash. I am freaking out, but really I shouldn't.
That's not so much mulch if you are truly doing the landscaping thing and putting it everywhere. My ex was a gardener/landscaper and it is easy to go through a truckload of cocoa hulls or bark or whatever.
good thought. I saw the wife, she is still alive. Kids are alive and they have a great dane! still alive too. very chill dog.
I think he is planning on mulching the woods??? I mean, he finished "mulching" his front garden and was very chintzy on the mulch, the gardens are not especially raised (I raise mine, it looks classy) so he is done with the front. He was a long narrow property, I would imagine about 1/3 of an acre. We across the street have almost a half acre but more square. Anyway, he is on fire to do the yard I guess. One thing I notice is that many of the neighbors on that side of the street with the woods right in the back about 20' they put their play equipment for the kids further back.... that year the kids get a zillion ticks on them and then the kids never go out again.
We have woods across the street, but we do not get ticks over here very often, I just think the woods are full of them... and deer. Oh well. He must have spend $2K on all of that mulch and delivery. He will be mulching all summer- or those bags are going to get moldy.
Here in Northern Virginia the use of mulch in commercial landscaping is purposely excessive. It looks very good. It is widely used here. The raised garden idea, is very common.
In the 90's, I started making my front yard gardens raised and always neatly manicured with healthy plantings and flowers (what fun) piles of mulch. It always looks magnificent. We are selling the house, as soon as possible, we have to get out of here first. We have always had compliments on our yard even though it is really not that great. Still, bagged mulch is a big thing now. It seems like a great business, sometimes when sifting through the mulch you can clearly see wood chips of things that might have been painted furniture haha
Probably the first Easter when I did not eat candy and did not even notice it! Your video of the golden looked (from behind) exactly like my dog, mahogany with cream color behind. That was so funny because if you knew me well, you would have said that it was for him, most certainly. The lab looks like my rescue. Thank-you for a post so entertaining that I am going back for seconds. All the Best to You and Yours.
and I, an English major, total waste of time as you can see. Not only did it not help procure me employment (I do not think but maybe mentioning that piece of paper mattered)... but did I REALLY say "...you would have said that it was him..." how embarrassing. Thankfully, although I am licensed to be a teacher but did not teach (which I still believe that I should have because perhaps some millenials would not be woke now but I digress) I was able to teach useful things in the corporate world... is that an oxymoron? What rambling.
SC - Thanks for the chuckle fest and Bonnie update.
Up-to-the-minute Bonnie update:
She's happily napping on the bed.

Wow. He sounds very entitled! Hope everything went ok in Phoenix!

All the best to you buddy!
Cat's don't work for cops!! 🤣🤣😂😂😂
Am I the only one who was expecting farm animals to gather around the cellist?

That dog was playing first base for the Yankees last week. I guess they sent him down to the minors
Love all the cat ones, of course. 🐈 And the turtles. I expected the chill dog to start singing along. And that must be a dream job for a working dog!
I had to look up the Tasmanian Devil! What a crazy kind of animal and not at all what I expected, having been raised on Looney Tunes!
Not a wombat?
Looks like a Tasmanian Devil to me, but... "I'm not a biologist"
Tracey - that's funny!

I couldn't get the Amazing Grace one to play for more than long enough to identify Amazing Grace.

Re mulch - I've been reading a lot of thrillers lately. Rear Window comes to mind - if you're old enough.

I was thinking it was the runt in a litter of hellhounds. . .

agree completely.

There ya go Timmy. Thinking along the same lines. Must be our age, even tho' we've established that you're younger.
A goodun, opening to closing.
If you get a chance, could you post the Slider video please? My grandson, co-captain, last year of HS baseball will get a kick out of it. I did.

Might take a minute or two to fully process
Got it!
Thank you sir.
turtles. ?? there were turtles?
NEWLY BORN TURTLES RUNNING FOR THE SEA!
then there was “that guy"

You mentioned surgery. Are you on drugs? LOL. I also had some biopsies on Tuesday. The one on my eyelid is frightening.
