For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
Canada is ahead of the rest of the free world by instituting a “PreCrime” -based system of government (see reference, Minority Report).
And the Head of State of Canada who is watching all this from afar in the UK must be thinking… what exactly? I’m sure she must be distracted with her own battle with Covid (best wishes of course for recovery.)
I suppose he learned that public polling (not reported to the public, of course) which showed ~ 27% supported truckers at first had turned (was reported) now to ~ 65% support for the truckers. That was told to me and I have no ability to verify. If that huge shift is real, the entire government knows they have lost the people.
At what point will sanity and reason be restored there? As we talked about the other day Commander, the nudges are getting so much harder. How, in the face of the crumbling narrative worldwide, does Canada stay so steadfast? And how is that looking to the rest of the world?
I haven't dove into this as much as others, and have been focused on other angles recently, so with the impending convoy here in the US, what are we looking at? Canada as the template? Or some inspiriting Hollywood western happy ending for the US?
I think Trudeau is all in with the WEF and their plans. There's no logic in his actions because his goal isn't what people think it is (beating the virus). If CANADA of all places won't stand for their digital plans, what chance do other 'leaders' have to implement it over the objections of their citizens?
If Canada successfully stands up, the whole scheme falls apart.
I've been thinking lately that Canada was definitely a "test case" to see what they could likely get away with in terms of clampdowns. What led me to that line of thinking was when they seized the donated GoFundMe and GiveSendGo money, and then moved on to freezing bank accounts and saying they would go after everyone who participated in any way, shape or form. And not a word that I've heard from our fearless R's in the U.S. condemning any of this abuse of power. That's deeply disturbing.
Concerning the dropping of mask mandates, can others confirm this phenomena:
Elementary schools are finding NON-compliance among students when dropping the OUTDOOR requirement of masks (I believe only roughly 20% of students STOP outdoor wearing of masks). One might be forgiven for admiring a care-for-others attitude among our next generation, but upon questioning, some 90+% of those little "altruists" are actually now happy to hide their percieved facial flaws, in order not to attract the bullies.
In short, they are hiding.
What....have....we....done.
Otoh, at least they don't seem to be scared shitless of a NON-childhood-threatening seasonal disease, like their parents are.
There was never a cause for panic. In fact, Corona Viruses are one of the common cold family of viruses and, unlike most others, COVID19 presents little threat to people under 65. And, we've known that from the beginning.
We've also known for more than a century that the first thing to do was to get people outdoors in sunlight. So, blue state governors and Canadian tyrants decided to do the precise opposite. It has also been known since the late 1890s that the distance for a bacteria cloud was two meters (just over six and a half feet). With the improvement in optics after World War II, we've known that the distance for viruses is eight meters, or about 28 feet.
In sum, this is a case of "Never let a good crisis go to waste." Which leads me to speculate that there is a three-way deal in place. Biden will be permitted a win over Putin, leaving Xi free to take Taiwan. That's only speculation. But it is absolutely in character.
Spot on. We can only hope that today's Hitler/Stalin axis meets similar fate, probably in the same way: the inevitable falling out of rival Authoritarian Socialists. Hopefully, it won't be as bloody, and they don't set off the nukes. A lot depends on the Russian and Chinese Peoples. Now THAT's a scary thought, eh?
It would seem the converse is also true: No one seems to listen to the few who, having gained power, refrain from using it inappropriately. (Sorry, no link. Do any even exist?)
It's the unwritten moral of "With great power comes great responsibility." The first (and easiest) part is "I have these powers and I can help people", but the harder part is "I have these powers and will not abuse them."
America's Founding Fathers: "We're probably not as great as we think we are and the people after us might be outright dicks. Probably better separate some powers and put constitutional protections in place."
Other Revolutionary Leaders: "We will lead the people to utopia, so everyone better do exactly as we say!"
I've always admired how well the founders understood human nature. But in those days it was quite important to educate yourself, even at a young age which they were relative to today. That appreciation about human nature, most notably abject greed, led them to try to build a structure of checks on power. Today few in their 30's begin to appreciate that human nature and by their 50's and now politicians construct law that ensures themselves wealth. Not to say those in their 30's don't have great greed because they do.
True. I couldn't think of a more appropriate term. Perhaps there isn't one, since much sorting of political outlook was occuring at the founding and its following decades, and probably as much "defining of terms" as today.
We were giddy with Capitalist success. Our government could do no wrong. After all that bloodletting, how could we not experience the numbing euphoria.
I think we should end all term limits, that we are scared into paying more attention, including the first one. Mr. Eisenhower would have won a third term, and it would have been a good thing, both imo. (Hey! There's a "link" I was searching for! Thanks, M. Matt.)
We are not only (slowly) winning, we are, perhaps dangerously, forcing the Statists (Fascism incarnate; they can't help it) into such corners that they figure doubling down is their only option.
If my intuition is accurate, then perhaps I was prescient in asking patience of the World.
Yes, doubling down IS their only option. Can you imagine the reaction if JT stood up and admitted that all the NPIs were worthless? Maybe that was possible in May 2020, but at this point they have dug in too far. (And done it all in a super condescending way, telling us to shut up and do what we're told)
It has to be understood these people are technocrats. They have gone all in saying they can "fix" Covid. If they were to succeed in their lofty promises, their power would become astronomical, but what if they were fail miserably? Faith in their "expert authority" would shatter. People would resist further expansion of their power and push back against their current authority. The one thing technocrats fear most is the populace believing they are useless, especially if they are! They have dug too deep to get out of their hole and right now they are just digging harder and hoping for a miracle.
And technocrats (typically) have no basis in (philosophical) morality. When confronted with this (which can happen in myriad ways, both privately and publically), the resulting crisis in justification is manifest, in the worst cases bloodily so.
Also technocrats do not have broad knowledge. I mentioned America's Founding Fathers in another post and they were well read in theology, history, philosophy, economics, and had the life experiences of men who had been out in the world and experienced things first hand. Most technocrats are "experts" in a narrow field, refuse to get outside of their peer bubble, are outright disdainful of learning new things, and are convinced of their own infallibility. You would have to be to believe that you and only you should run the world.
It is said that with the explosion in human knowledge (thank you, individual freedom!), there exist no more "Renaissance" men (please read "human," but it just doesn't have the same ring).
However, why do we insist on looking to their opposite for leadership today? At least we should choose as representatives and power-wielders those that aspire to a far-ranging knowledge base.
The explosion in knowledge has not exposed much new about human nature. Seeing the great divides arriving among us suggests a return to the tribalism of our ancients. We must suppress that instinct to tribalism in order to function in larger communities. Instead as we continue we could be headed for that national divorce. Not a civil war but one of people voting with their feet.
I think the cart is put before the horse. Is it Trudeau, or the Volk that is Tyrant? Is the public not able to act? No, they are. Are they willing to do so? No. Do they want someone else to do so for them? Yes, a few do, and enough others prefer to trust in government, and so the actor Trudeau enters Stage Left as scapegoat for the Bourgeois Canadian. At some juncture there are not heroes but men who stand up and yes die. More are suffering and dying from the injections than would die fighting for human dignity.
I think it is a very bad idea and an op. Of course I have almost come to the conclusion anything and nearly anyone opposed to the Mandates only, and side effects of vaccine only, has adopted the wrong point of view and holds to it either as a life preserver or an income stream. Or of course is steaming ahead with an agenda.
If I read you correctly (did you mis-type a couple of words here?), I fear I have some guilt in this matter. I still think mRNA inoculations hold promise, but there is NO mandate of ANYTHING that is legitimate.
On the subject goading/resisting the Statists (with their warhorses, property seizures, our-way-or-die-mentality, etc.), I go back and forth, issue by emerging issue, on the one hand NOT cornering the tiger, and on the other forcing their hand. Its nearly impossible to know before-hand which is best to effect positive change.

“Many have breached that duty and, in doing so, are recklessly causing a risk of death or serious injury, by carrying on regardless of the now-confirmed dangers associated with COVID 19 injections. Some of these risks are blood clotting, myocarditis, pericarditis, thrombosis, thrombocytopenia, anaphylaxis, Bell’s palsy, Guillain-Barre, cancer including deaths.
All of these are confirmed in the following science-and-government-gathered data from the UK Health and Security agency on COVID 19 regarding vaccine damage.”

Excellent comment. This is a constant judgment call, of course, for both sides and also for those on various levels of the fence, so to speak.
For a specific example, I worry the supposedly-forming U.S. truckers' convoy to the D.C. will not reach a critical mass, and possibly backfire.
Like that wonderful Larry Elder striking at King Newsome, only to make him feel justified the more. (Oh, my idiot Californians.)

Well I start on a different premise. And following from this premise I deeply doubt the narrative of Covid-19. And further, the entire field of virology thus is suspect.
