1/6 Committee Highlights Deficiencies of the Justice System
There seem to be two sets of rules.........
The justice system in America has never been perfect. Thomas Jefferson stated in the Declaration of Independence that it is “self-evident” that all men are created equal. Immediately breaking this ideal, America condoned slavery for almost 100 years following the Declaration. It wasn’t until the passage of the 13th Amendment in1865 that slavery was finally outlawed. (Don’t listen to people who tell you that “Lincoln freed the slaves:”)
Lincoln didn’t actually free all of the approximately 4 million men, women and children held in slavery in the United States when he signed the formal Emancipation Proclamation the following January. The document applied only to enslaved people in the Confederacy, and not to those in the border states that remained loyal to the Union.
(In other words, Lincoln ‘freed’ slaves states in which he had no legitimate authority. This is sort of like Biden stating that gays in Russia are free from government persecution — he’s not the one who makes that decision.)
Even after the passage of the 13th Amendment, minorities endured a long struggle to ensure the “self-evident” wisdom of the Declaration of Independence was upheld in reality. From racist gun control laws to racist speech control laws to racist drug laws and anti-gay sodomy laws, America has sadly always fallen shot of its ideals.
As most of America collectively yawns its way to tonight’s “special report” from the January 6th committee, it’s more evident than ever that the justice system in America is a way for the powerful to both punish their enemies AND evade consequences for their own actions.
Not satisfied with an attempted impeachment of Trump over the events of 1/6, Democrats have formed the (highly illegal) January 6th committee in order to focus on (what they think) is a winning political position: continuing to attack a president that’s been out of office for years. (To be fair, they can’t really run on their competency, can they?)
By now, the 1/6 prisoners have been in custody for 17 months. The vast majority of these people aren’t charged with violence or destruction of property or anything major.
All this stands in major contrast to the riots of the preceding summer. During those riots, protest was American (and who says it has to be peaceful?), rioters were bailed out by political organizations at the highest levels, and violence was focused directly on government officials and buildings. No talk of insurrection. No sedition charges. No cell phone or social media monitoring.
This is how it goes when you’re a Friend of the Swamp. (Or at least useful to it) Michael Sussmann lied to the FBI. We have the receipts. But when you’re a Friend of the Swamp, that doesn’t matter because ‘lying to the FBI shouldn’t be a crime’.
After the verdict, the jury forewoman, who declined to give her name, spoke to the media. She said charges should never have been filed against Mr. Sussmann in the first place.
“I don’t think it should have been prosecuted,” she said of the case. “There are bigger things that affect the nation than a possible lie to the FBI.”
Contrast this treatment with that of Michael Flynn. In that case, allegedly lying to the FBI is enough for the agency to threaten his son! (A disgusting ploy that likely led to the guilty plea in the first place.) And in that case, the entire thing was a setup from the beginning.
When you’re a Friend of the Swamp, you get off scot-free, even if the documented lie to the FBI triggered Russiagate, in which EVEN MORE Friends of the Swamp commit crimes and are given a slap on the wrist.
With the 1/6 committee, Democrats are attempting to blame Trump — because of his words and actions — for the crimes of others. (Make no mistake, those who ACTUALLY broke windows and attacked police should be held accountable.) Yet that standard neatly disappears into the æther when Friends of the Swamp seemingly encourage violence against those with which they disagree:
Later, their ‘followers’ show up intent on murder. But there’s no special committees. No wide condemnation from the press. The entire incident goes down the memory hole, to rest with stories such as the Waukesha parade attack and the NYC Subway Shooter.
I’m sure tonight’s “special report” will be full of breathless hyperbole, ridiculous conjectures, and outright lies. The entire thing smells like a Stalin-esque show trial, right down to its professional production. It is designed to send a message to all Americans: oppose us at your peril. You don’t have to even be in the city for us to charge you. We will brand you a terrorist and steal your assets.
If we must have a multi-million-dollar investigation into the events of January 6th, then let’s ACTUALLY DO IT RIGHT. Let’s release ALL the video surrounding that day. Let’s form a legal committee that has legal subpoena power and ask people — under oath — about January 6th. We’ll start with Nancy Pelosi. Maybe she can finally explain what’s going on in this video:
Of course, that will never happen, because the justice system is simply a political weapon, ready to be wielded by incompetent politicians and ignorant blowhards. And as the saying goes: “It is dangerous to be right in matters on which the established authorities are wrong.”

No words can adequately illustrate my disgust and disdain for the US government and those who have destroyed it. I will not be watching the Potomac Pravda Production.
This show trial is Democrats focusing on their trauma. While the trauma that regular Americans are facing (rising gas prices, ridiculous man made inflation, coming layoffs) is completely ignored. Read the room, assholes. We’re tired of your politics and your heavy handedness.
