I am not anti-immigrant; I want increased immigration. We can't do that until we have control of our borders. To remind those who haven't read me recently. I'm older than dirt. The whole thing went off the rails in 1986 when Reagan agreed to one-time amnesty and the Democrats agreed to secured borders.

Reagan delivered the amnesty. We've been waiting ever since for secure borders.

I lived in a southwest city in the U.S. for a couple of years. I am *not* "anti-immigrant". But anyway, in those two years I watched the item descriptions for items in all of the major stores in that area go from English on top and Spanish underneath to Spanish in large letters on top to English in very small print underneath. The clean area I lived in became a trash heap with shootings at all times of the day and night, tagging and graffiti all over every standing building, etc etc etc. It turned into an utter hell hole. People advocating for an invasion of illegal aliens have a completely different attitude about it when it comes to their own back yard. There should have been more than a couple bus loads shipped to Martha's Vineyard and other elitist, mostly white areas all over the Northeast. These people don't have a clue of what it's like to have to endure this invasion. I'll bet we quietly see some "policy" changes in some of those elitist areas real soon.

NBC (I think) with their tweet basically calling illegal immigrants trash 😂😂. Now deleted of course.

The stories I heard initially didn't explain that the "housing crisis" on the island is not due to shortages but to the fact that rent is so expensive that poor and working class people cannot live in Martha's Vineyard. Incidentally, I'm pretty sure their building regulations-- if they existed in any part of Florida or Texas-- would be called racist and a vestige of white supremacy. (I'm not claiming they are, or that they even expressly exist to keep out poor people. I am a big fan of preserving the natural and historical qualities of any place. The problem isn't the policies; it's the hypocrisy.) I am not a hypocrite: I do not believe illegal immigrants should be housed in airbnbs, or empty summer homes, and I completely support the right of the wealthy inhabitants of MV to turn the immigrants away. What bugs me is that being put in this position doesn't seem to be changing their politics or attitude toward immigration in general. Is it?

‘Community’ is what WE say it is. The most telling thing about the sign: We respect... is not who is included in the most favoured list, but who isn’t... the majority of ‘the community’ who don’t pin labels on themselves and cry victim and demand social justice (whatever that is) but just want to get on with the rest of their lives in peace.

Housing crisis? Is she serious? There are 500 AirBnBs on Martha's Vineyard. Why not try a couple of those?

This flips Alinsky on his head -- forcing left wing radicals to live up to their own rules. Red states should just pass a law immediately deporting any illegals found within their borders to the nearest self-proclaimed sanctuary city out of state, it’ll be win-win! Red states ease the burden of illegal immigration on them and sanctuary cities get the refugees they feel so much concern and empathy for, what’s not to like?

"Martha's Vineyard is a very special place for my family and me. My parents have a home there, and Dan, Ruby, and I spent her first year on the island. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause."

Yeah, go f@#$ yourself 🤪

And Voila! The National Guard has swooped and and relocates those 50 unwelcome immigrants off to a military base... we wouldn’t want them to spoil possibly the last lovely weekend of the waning summer! These people are simply despicable. I hate them.

I would reeeeeeealllly love for the buses to take the illegals to New Castle New Hampshire.

It is an island jampacked full of liberals off the coast of... Portsmouth? Verrrrrry rich liberals snooting around in their $million++ homes. and they have boats, each home has at least two. One ocean boat, and one lake boat. Nice huh?

My brother and his nasty wife live there. They are extremely intolerant. I would love for their hypocritical asses to get some visitors

I thought the bussing was a stupid ploy, turns out the vampires don't like the sun shining on them. It is amazing how few migrants it took to expose the true colors of the assholes signaling virtue the hardest.

The crazy presumption is that the other communities where immigrants are dropped off in the dead of night DO have the money, facilities, and services to provide for them. (Even though poor Martha’s Vineyard claims not to.)

In Chicago sanctuary city mayor Lori Lightfoot was found to have been sending a number of immigrants to a nearby suburb-Burr Ridge, putting them in a hotel there. And, no, she didn’t tell/warn the Burr Ridge mayor, village council, or residents according to initial news reports.
