They're trying to normalize their ineptitude, incompetence, and criminal behavior of the past 2 years.
I've been thinking a lot lately about what's next, and it seems to bea giant rug, an even bigger broom, and a whole lot of look the other way. That's what they want "next" to be, at least until they regroup and have the will to dominate "the little people again."
Even the corrupt press can't protect this administration from its own incompetence. Their insane focus on stuff that hardly matters to the average person is the cause. We here are aware but the general public is discovering that government policy really does matter and perhaps they ought to pay attention. The public is discovering how out of touch elected official are. Maybe the election will bring some relief as the next corrupt bunch gives it a try.
Politicians often get likened to rats, seagulls, buzzards and other such animals, usually with the caveat that it's an insult to the actual animal.
However, building on that I'd like to say that there's another aspect to it: the animal, as does the politician, follows their nature. But we don't get angry at rats for being rats, do we? If they get into the feed, it's my fault for not securing the bins correctly, yes?
So why then are we angry with politicians following their nature?
Because we expect them to have that wonderful thing called "a better nature". Ask yourself: do you have a better nature which you could display? You don't, do you? You try your best with what you've got and who you are.
And so do they, only they are part of a horde of rats holding the grainstores hostage. So sometimes one must accept the loss of feed and some lean days and iron nights, to be rid of the rats.
French politics is a joke. For a start, what the French media regard as "Far Right" is basically what General de Gaulle would have advocated for. I mean, the guy was a Nationalist, but he was still pretty much a Lefty socialist.
So what happens in France is, a "Far Right" party (read: Nationalist Lefty) will advocate for what pretty much everyone in France wants, but the "shame" of voting for the "Far Right" becomes too much of a national embarrassment so they always vote for the puppet de jour: e.g. CIA puppet (Sarkozy), Globalist puppet (Hollande), WEF puppet (Macron).
The populace then spend the next few years getting extremely irate that the person who gets elected implements the policies that they had in their manifesto. Of course, no-one wanted those policies, but at least those horrible "Far Right" people never got to the levers of power!
The whole thing is a complete joke. Any successful national candidate/party in France should basically run on a ticket of doing absolutely nothing, which appears to be what the French want more than anything else!
Sounds like Sweden. 30% vote socialist democrat, 40% vote for a mix of globalist liberal parties or the communists (yes, an honest-to-gods real old school communist party, unapologetically celebrating Lenin, Stalin and Mao - gets at most 10% of the vote, mainly migrants and menopausal women), all wrapped up in the combined flags of islam, climate cultism and the gay lobby.
As for actual policies, the above generally vote the same in parliament 9 times out of 10 (the stats are public information).
And the rest vote for a random mix which never pass the bar (4% of the vote) or the Sweden Democrats, who has been subjected to a continous smear campaign so imbecilic stupid it's embarassing. An incident close to 15 years ago where three party members were accosted and assaulted by an arab gang led by a then prominent islamist/socialist celebrity resulted in the three Sweden Democrats picking up things to use as clubs for defense - this was then spun in the press as "they hunted migrants, while armed".Stuff like that runs 24/7/365 in state media.
And all those people voting for the same old sh*t? Day after election they get tax hikes. As advertised. And then they spend 4 years wailing about the socialists doing exactly what they've always done.
I no longer believe in universal sufferage, or parliamentary democracy.
A good friend of mine is French. He was very embarrassed and apologetic twenty years ago when Jean-Marie Le Pen made it to the run-off for President. His head practically exploded when I said, "I kinda hope Le Pen wins." :)
I can believe it. Unfortunately, I have found that the vast majority of French people I have spoken to are actually quite racist at this point. They seriously dislike North African immigrants. This seems to cross all age groups and even extends into LGBTQ people I have met.
There seems to be a strong correlation with this attitude and thinking that Covid has a CFR of 16% and that "vaccines are the only solution" and also treating Purebloods like myself with suspicion.
I also note that on Amazon.co.uk, high strength Vitamin D, Liposomal Vitamin C, elemental Zinc and other items that can help with Covid were all either ridiculously overpriced or sold out. On Amazon.fr, the exact same items were in stock and available for "normal" prices. This tells me that the French alt-media failed miserably in having any penetration into the minds of average French people, which is evidenced by the devotion to mask wearing, getting vaxxed, using the "pass sanitaire" [passe de la honte] and extreme disagreement with the notion that Macron and his En Marche party deserve to be tried and executed for crimes against humanity, and acting like literal Nazis.
I am looking to get out of here as soon as I can, because it seems to me this is not a viable place to live for much longer.
Thank you. I find my analysis of things is generally quite decent. I work on the basis that if I don't know something I say nothing, but if I do know something I can speak on it with a degree of authority.
Unfortunately we live in a world where normies think they know everything, when in reality they are stuck in the Matrix. It was unbelievably painful before, but now it's unbearable.
Yeah. I always thought The Matrix was stupid, because it required basically 100% compliance/ignorance, but today's "Matrix" is maddeningly elective; how is it that it has succeeded so well? I thought it would not reach this level of buy-in.
It takes a long time to realize that no one goes into politics for noble reasons. It's always about power, how to get it, how to keep it, and how to dole it out to aggregate more power.
As an ex-Noo Yawkuh I had plenty of contempt for Trump the human being, but at least he was nakedly honest--in deed if not in word--about running for President as a big "fuck you" to everyone who'd ever mocked him. I've got great sympathy for motives like that.
Finding the bastard whose own motives are more likely than not to help achieve what you want is, I now understand, a far superior strategy to having any moral scruples. My problem is I just can't, as it were, close my eyes and swallow.

It’s called unintentional comedy.

I don't know, try doing less stuff?
Funny you say that, I have wondered how successful a ticket would be of "we will spend the next four years doing nothing".
Dude! I don't know how successful it would be, also, but it WOULD be my dream ticket.
The idea came to me because I live in France.

At least they have gilets jaunes protests in France. What does the US have? Another war boner.

M. baboon, seldom have I read such a perfectly spot-on comment. Thank you!
I actually came up with a name for such a party: Le Statu Quo
LSQ! I like it.

"But vote for us anyway, you stupid benighted racist Nazis!" -- Democrat pitch, always
Seems to be too successful, when you put it that way...

Yes, Joe...we'd really like to know, what ARE you talking about?!?
Who was it said be careful, you might get what you "want."
