The Inmates Are Running the Asylum

Columbia University is off the rails and going online

Like much of the rest of the country, I’ve been paying attention to the situation at Columbia University with alternating amusement and horror. Amusement because this was a completely self-inflicted wound by Columbia and the rest of the institutes of higher learning.

But then I see something like this, and the amusement turns to horror. (I’ll admit, it’s AFTER the drones repeat “repeat after me”. THAT was laugh-out-loud funny.)

Pay close attention to the tactics of the human chain gang here. Every word is spoken to make THEM the victims. “Respect our privacy and our community guidelines” as we literally force you out of the vicinity. These are people who have been trained in the art of passive language that couches aggressive action.

And the effort seems to have been successful, with Jewish Professor Shai Davidai literally denied entry into the school:

The situation is so bad that the school has moved to online classes, though the semester ends next week.

Police are now watching the situation closely:

Obviously, this is an incredibly sticky political situation given Biden’s unwavering support of Israel (while funding Palestine as well) and his unwavering support of crazy college policies that have allowed this to happen in the first place.

Now, the protests are intensifying and spreading to other campuses across the country. If Biden isn’t careful, he’s going to find himself in another “Summer of Love” — this time as the target.

In another instance of the inmates running the asylum, members of Congress who were on the floor waving Ukrainian flags aren’t being punished — the guy who tweeted about it is:

Ironically, this Tweet from Joe Biden that accuses Trump of telling people to inject bleach is literally accompanied by the video proving that Trump never said to inject bleach:

Before I flip on the Royals game, I might as well get a quick health update out of the way so I don’t have to answer a hundred times in the comments! Staying off my feet seems to be working its magic, and I’m hopeful that in a couple days I’ll be able to get back to my normal routine. (And number of typos!)

Editing to add a video from this evening. Once again, listen to the language. They are going to cause the police to use a high amount of force to arrest them, then complain about that force afterward. This is the escalation I was talking about earlier today.
