One motto I live by: "bugs don't like me, I'm too mean." That means bugs see me and run the other way, "let's not waste our time with THIS one!" Works for me at 72. Here's a thought: "could not stand up to ANY scrutiny," might be why scrutiny has been disallowed. Somewhere from Nov 2019 to March 2020 we had "another kind of bird flu" to "the deadliest virus ever encountered by man". Basic questions like "What makes this virus so different?" and "is this really a pandemic?" were disallowed. Dare aske "how will ordering people NOT to work, shutting down businesses, and sending cops out to enforce lockdowns really be a positive means to contain a viral pathogen?" or "what has been proven in the last 4 months that invalidates everything we have learned about viral outbreaks since the late 1800s?" and you are labeled "COVID denier!"
It's a clue, folks. When inquiry is disallowed, that is not science. That is politics. I stand by this as one of the few absolute truths upon which you can rely.
At the time I figured this was exploitation of an opportunity. I mean, there was no hope in the 2020 election of defeating the evil red man with the economy churning and prosperity spreading through real economic growth, increases in the number of well paying jobs, relative calm in the middle east and eastern Europe. Attacking the real failures of the Trump administration would have required admitting that vetoing CRs and unrealistic budgets was OK, something The Party could not do. I don't think SARS-Cov-19 was created to turn the 2020 election, but I can see that a crisis was created around it and exploited (let no tragic event go to waste). If, for example, this new variation of well known virus type had been discovered in 2008, it would have been a bad flu.
I live by the credo to never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence, but when we see these things in our society, I don't think we can credit incompetence any more. If this wasn't done in the name of greed, or worse, purposeful evil, nothing makes any sense.
I this case, I'd add that if i can be explained by competent greed, that's as likely as a screw-up. It is hard to explain the sum total of insanity as incompetence. That requires an extremely unlikely number of overlapping coincidences. Recognition of opportunity to use for expanding political power or to make a few billions of windfall profit is a very plausible explanation. It doesn't take a complex conspiracy. It takes fear to exploit. Which was created in ample supply.

Much of the damage is deep. You're right, it did not start in 2020. It started with government control of education. A curriculum that slowly but deliberately replaced teaching a culture of freedom with a culture of dependence. Changed history. Removed the US constitution and the context of its creation from textbooks.
Slowly, in about 2 generations, the values of self reliance and liberty were replaced with dependence on a centralized government. Knowledge of the dangers of the later eliminated. People taught to believe that liberty is dangerous. That is what enabled the incredible and illegal eradication of the most basic liberties. The lock downs, the suppression of assembly, the suppression of religion, the right to decide what gets put into your body, gone. Pushed way beyond what makes any sense at all.

I choose a good Bourbon. I don't like the smell of pot. Which is weird given that I grew up in the 60s and 70s in bars and nightclubs and rock concerts where smoking pot indoors was common. As in, if you could see across the room, it must be before the doors open ;-). It did not bother me much then. Like many things as you age, you become more sensitive. I consider that my problem, not anyone else's. I don't care what y'all do when I'm not around. The one time I asked a pot smoker if they'd delay sparking up until I'd left, the response was not polite. So I don't ask. Instead I do a Clinton - I don't inhale :-).
I'm a firm believer in "your body, your choice". I'm also a fan of courtesy and being thoughtful of others. The two need not be in conflict. As an American I have a right to my own opinion and the right to express it. As a husband, I have a wife who doesn't like political debates at family functions. Thus the superior right is the right to remain silent when political topics are raised. That's not suppression of free speech, that is common courtesy (and a desire to maintain domestic harmony).
Generally this is how I feel, too. Almost all typical scenarios should be handled with a natural solution first. If THAT doesn't work, then you look for PROVEN pharma solutions.

10-15 years or so (here) my suggestion would have been to transfer research to tax-funded universities, but given politicisation of the natural sciences too, that won't work now. And trusting in "the market"? Well, go back to before the 1940s and look at what was sold over the counter without any checks on the contents nor the efficiency or any dangers. "Jeppson's Malört" was after all conceived (by a Swedish migrant to Chicago) as a "herbal tonic" to get around Prohibition.
Also, it's far less dangerous to your health than a Covid-jab. Maybe the wrong example.

Agree. Alas the only way forward is likely to dismatle everything, put everyone involved in handcuffs, and rebuild from scratch:
You could hook the revolving door between the CDC and the corporations they govern up to a turbine and light up the Vegas strip, meanwhile congress invests heavily in these enterprises based on legislation that they are going to pass in the future because they are exempt from insider trading laws. This collusion between government and their subordinate industry is cartel/cabal/banana-republic levels of criminal.
The only way out of this is to dismantle and rebuild the system from scratch because the system is rotten to the core and is woven together by blanket webs of interlocking incestuous corruption. It cannot be untangled or fixed as each corrupted entanglement has a stranglehold on the ones surrounding it - everyone is compromised and has incriminating evidence on everyone else - it can only be destroyed, its members sent to prison, and then rebuilt with the hard-earned wisdom from lessons learned.
It's certainly a problem. The hope that in the absence of government control, people wouldn't trust the corporations and then a "consumer reports" style system would fill the void to 'regulate' the companies.
But how do we ensure THOSE companies aren't bought and paid for, too? And is the research we're doing right now a good idea in the first place?
The answer I go to is personal responsibility. I've learned that if you are over 60 and not medicated heavily, the health care industry sees that as a problem. "my body my choice" doesn't seem to go over well with some MDs. I've POed more than one MD by asking questions. Reasonable questions like "what are the risks". I found an MD who is willing to debate and tolerate being annoyed. I can read a research paper, and know how to use PubMed and NCBI search engines (which makes me dangerous for MDs ;-). I challenge the diagnostic guidelines and need for drugs. While I won't say he's happy about it, he is willing to have a discussion, make his case, and hear my rebuttal. He's not fired me yet ;-).
Some MDs get it. The surgeon that fixed my broken foot was one. The ER doc that I saw it the day I broke it wasn't. He asked what happened - I said I rolled my ankle while running with my dog on uneven ground. He said "you were running AT YOUR AGE!?!?!?!". My inside voice said something not repeatable in a polite discussion. My outside voice said "yes". The first visit with the surgeon, he asked the same question. I answered. He said "still running at your age? that's cool!". We discussed the wear and tear on the knees and how I deal with it. This guy was maybe 35. After the surgery he prescribed a heavy duty opiate for pain. I told him I wouldn't take it. He said to have it just in case, seemed pretty sure I'd change my mind. I took some Aspirin. On the first follow-up he asked how many pain pills I had taken. I said none. He said "that's cool". Then something about either I'm a real bad-ass or he's a really good surgeon. I'm not that bad-ass. But I am stubborn. But I let him go with the "really good surgeon" explanation ;-)
What Fauci had was a political imperative to change the definition of vaccine. After being all in against "the Trump vaccine" he flopped with the change in administration - and because "humanity is doomed if you don't get your shot and then the next one and then the next one....". Remember when Tony said you'd be better off getting COVID than taking the "Trump vaccine"? I do. This is why we call him flip-flop Fauci.
Then the evidence came rolling in - people who had taken the shot were getting COVID anyway - again and again. Well, then the story is "it reduces the risk" and "you got COVID but it would have been MUCH worse if you'd not had the shot!". The definition of a "vaccine" - that it caused vaccination - was not serving the political necessity. So there was no choice but to redefine what "vaccinated" and "vaccine" mean. Just as The Party had redefined the word "liberal" to encompass the opposite.
The amazing thing about the political power of 2020-onward is how many people continue to suspend reason and their own senses to stay loyal. It's not new - but it has hit new demands for extremes of conformity. Now we have "anti-vaxers" - if you ask a question about a non-vaccinating drug or challenge the redefinition of "vaccine", a common retort is "you want polio back?" as if comparing the mRNA drugs to an actual vaccine that has shown efficacy in vaccinating is valid, and as if any question of "the authority" is a denial of the usefulness of some vaccines. That's just lunacy, pure and simple. i value the idea that it is your body your choice, but I also advocate choosing with information instead of as a political statement.
Funny that immunity is ignored if it results from healthy practices including diet, exercise, and sunlight. Makes me think that immunity is just another lie. So, why did I not get COVID? The injection was not involved, as I did not get it.
I got two shots. I love my job. My job requires international travel. I wanted to get back to it after the 2 year disruption. I needed to get back to it for my mental health. There was to be no travel without proof of the shots. Then I broke my foot. The choice was get the shot and get the surgery to fix it, or do not get the surgery. The latter reduced my chances of normal use of my foot to near zero (when I break something, I do break it good!). So I rolled the dice. I have never had a positive COVID test nor any significant symptoms. Either before or after the shot. I can walk and run.
My theory is that late in 2019 or early 2020 I was exposed to the virus, probably got a sniffle, muscle aches, etc. I'm over 60 and physically active - I am a constant muscle ache. I've developed mild allergies to, among other things, dog dander. I love my dogs. A few more aches and sniffles went unnoticed. That provided a positive immunization. Enough ahead of the shots so that the (well documented) effect of immune fixation did not undo the immunity. That's a plausible explanation supported by real science ;-)

I listened to several videos by Dr. Ryan Cole in 2020. I didn't k ow who he was but his caution made absolute sense to me. He made me stop and think. I didn't panic because of his information. I did far more research and decided I would not take any vaccine and would just use the same caution I always use during flu season. I didn't wear a mask. I didn't get tested. I also DIDN'T get covid, or a cold or the flu. I haven't gotten a flu shot in 25+ years. I'm of "the age" where they recommend I take all the stuff. Not gonna happen. I WILL NOT COMPLY, to any new plandemic.
You may recall that through most of 2020 every talking head in the media and talking head of The Party was speaking out AGAINST fast tracking the mRNA drugs. You may have to use
the wayback machine but you can find clips of that hysteria - "I will never trust the Trump vaccine!" - from the very same faces that were screaming for mandatory shots to save humanity in 2021. Hint: the science had not changed.
I can't believe ...... sometimes I just can not believe the amount of horrible arrogant crap we have endured over this past decade or perhaps longer. Did it start in 2000? No.

Much of the damage is deep. You're right, it did not start in 2020. It started with government control of education. A curriculum that slowly but deliberately replaced teaching a culture of freedom with a culture of dependence. Changed history. Removed the US constitution and the context of its creation from textbooks.
Slowly, in about 2 generations, the values of self reliance and liberty were replaced with dependence on a centralized government. Knowledge of the dangers of the later eliminated. People taught to believe that liberty is dangerous. That is what enabled the incredible and illegal eradication of the most basic liberties. The lock downs, the suppression of assembly, the suppression of religion, the right to decide what gets put into your body, gone. Pushed way beyond what makes any sense at all.
What we've seen since is escalation based on the success of 2020 excesses. I hate to be pessimistic, but it's going to take a lot more than 4 years to fix. But...the hope is in the change. The rejection of The Party installed (undemocratically installed) candidate may signal a limit. But only if we can take back education will there be lasting change.

A pretty good example. Remember the picture circulating in January 2020 of the sign at Glacier National Park that said "this glacier will be gone by 2020" with the still frozen glacier in the background. Yet that did not slow the roll of "climate crisis" politics. Not a little bit.
People are now invested in believing in catastrophic climate change. It has become the basis of their political religion. Foundation to their belief systems. There can be no "fact" allowed that shows the inconsistency.
This is a very lucrative and useful deception. Don't get me wrong - the real science suggests that our climate is constantly changing. That's real. It's not caused by you breathing or driving a reliable car. The solutions being forced upon us wont solve anything. It will in fact slow the realization that we, humans, may have to adapt to a changing environment eventually. But those profiting from it now, either in $$$ or expansion of power, won't be the ones suffering. That's how this centralization of power works, kids - a few do very well while the rest of us pay for it, and suffer the consequences of ignoring the real problems.

I actually say this to some people, and most have to work at figuring out what I am saying. And then they laugh. But I am serious. If you had a choice between the COVID injection and marijuana, which would you choose? The former risks your life, the second does not.
I choose a good Bourbon. I don't like the smell of pot. Which is weird given that I grew up in the 60s and 70s in bars and nightclubs and rock concerts where smoking pot indoors was common. As in, if you could see across the room, it must be before the doors open ;-). It did not bother me much then. Like many things as you age, you become more sensitive. I consider that my problem, not anyone else's. I don't care what y'all do when I'm not around. The one time I asked a pot smoker if they'd delay sparking up until I'd left, the response was not polite. So I don't ask. Instead I do a Clinton - I don't inhale :-).
I'm a firm believer in "your body, your choice". I'm also a fan of courtesy and being thoughtful of others. The two need not be in conflict. As an American I have a right to my own opinion and the right to express it. As a husband, I have a wife who doesn't like political debates at family functions. Thus the superior right is the right to remain silent when political topics are raised. That's not suppression of free speech, that is common courtesy (and a desire to maintain domestic harmony).
Generally this is how I feel, too. Almost all typical scenarios should be handled with a natural solution first. If THAT doesn't work, then you look for PROVEN pharma solutions.

10-15 years or so (here) my suggestion would have been to transfer research to tax-funded universities, but given politicisation of the natural sciences too, that won't work now. And trusting in "the market"? Well, go back to before the 1940s and look at what was sold over the counter without any checks on the contents nor the efficiency or any dangers. "Jeppson's Malört" was after all conceived (by a Swedish migrant to Chicago) as a "herbal tonic" to get around Prohibition.
Also, it's far less dangerous to your health than a Covid-jab. Maybe the wrong example.

You could hook the revolving door between the CDC and the corporations they govern up to a turbine and light up the Vegas strip, meanwhile congress invests heavily in these enterprises based on legislation that they are going to pass in the future because they are exempt from insider trading laws. This collusion between government and their subordinate industry is cartel/cabal/banana-republic levels of criminal.
The only way out of this is to dismantle and rebuild the system from scratch because the system is rotten to the core and is woven together by blanket webs of interlocking incestuous corruption. It cannot be untangled or fixed as each corrupted entanglement has a stranglehold on the ones surrounding it - everyone is compromised and has incriminating evidence on everyone else - it can only be destroyed, its members sent to prison, and then rebuilt with the hard-earned wisdom from lessons learned.

It's certainly a problem. The hope that in the absence of government control, people wouldn't trust the corporations and then a "consumer reports" style system would fill the void to 'regulate' the companies.
But how do we ensure THOSE companies aren't bought and paid for, too? And is the research we're doing right now a good idea in the first place?
Lots of questions, not a lot of good answers.
The answer I go to is personal responsibility. I've learned that if you are over 60 and not medicated heavily, the health care industry sees that as a problem. "my body my choice" doesn't seem to go over well with some MDs. I've POed more than one MD by asking questions. Reasonable questions like "what are the risks". I found an MD who is willing to debate and tolerate being annoyed. I can read a research paper, and know how to use PubMed and NCBI search engines (which makes me dangerous for MDs ;-). I challenge the diagnostic guidelines and need for drugs. While I won't say he's happy about it, he is willing to have a discussion, make his case, and hear my rebuttal. He's not fired me yet ;-).
Some MDs get it. The surgeon that fixed my broken foot was one. The ER doc that I saw it the day I broke it wasn't. He asked what happened - I said I rolled my ankle while running with my dog on uneven ground. He said "you were running AT YOUR AGE!?!?!?!". My inside voice said something not repeatable in a polite discussion. My outside voice said "yes". The first visit with the surgeon, he asked the same question. I answered. He said "still running at your age? that's cool!". We discussed the wear and tear on the knees and how I deal with it. This guy was maybe 35. After the surgery he prescribed a heavy duty opiate for pain. I told him I wouldn't take it. He said to have it just in case, seemed pretty sure I'd change my mind. I took some Aspirin. On the first follow-up he asked how many pain pills I had taken. I said none. He said "that's cool". Then something about either I'm a real bad-ass or he's a really good surgeon. I'm not that bad-ass. But I am stubborn. But I let him go with the "really good surgeon" explanation ;-)

What Fauci had was a political imperative to change the definition of vaccine. After being all in against "the Trump vaccine" he flopped with the change in administration - and because "humanity is doomed if you don't get your shot and then the next one and then the next one....". Remember when Tony said you'd be better off getting COVID than taking the "Trump vaccine"? I do. This is why we call him flip-flop Fauci.
Then the evidence came rolling in - people who had taken the shot were getting COVID anyway - again and again. Well, then the story is "it reduces the risk" and "you got COVID but it would have been MUCH worse if you'd not had the shot!". The definition of a "vaccine" - that it caused vaccination - was not serving the political necessity. So there was no choice but to redefine what "vaccinated" and "vaccine" mean. Just as The Party had redefined the word "liberal" to encompass the opposite.
The amazing thing about the political power of 2020-onward is how many people continue to suspend reason and their own senses to stay loyal. It's not new - but it has hit new demands for extremes of conformity. Now we have "anti-vaxers" - if you ask a question about a non-vaccinating drug or challenge the redefinition of "vaccine", a common retort is "you want polio back?" as if comparing the mRNA drugs to an actual vaccine that has shown efficacy in vaccinating is valid, and as if any question of "the authority" is a denial of the usefulness of some vaccines. That's just lunacy, pure and simple. i value the idea that it is your body your choice, but I also advocate choosing with information instead of as a political statement.

Funny that immunity is ignored if it results from healthy practices including diet, exercise, and sunlight. Makes me think that immunity is just another lie. So, why did I not get COVID? The injection was not involved, as I did not get it.
I got two shots. I love my job. My job requires international travel. I wanted to get back to it after the 2 year disruption. I needed to get back to it for my mental health. There was to be no travel without proof of the shots. Then I broke my foot. The choice was get the shot and get the surgery to fix it, or do not get the surgery. The latter reduced my chances of normal use of my foot to near zero (when I break something, I do break it good!). So I rolled the dice. I have never had a positive COVID test nor any significant symptoms. Either before or after the shot. I can walk and run.
My theory is that late in 2019 or early 2020 I was exposed to the virus, probably got a sniffle, muscle aches, etc. I'm over 60 and physically active - I am a constant muscle ache. I've developed mild allergies to, among other things, dog dander. I love my dogs. A few more aches and sniffles went unnoticed. That provided a positive immunization. Enough ahead of the shots so that the (well documented) effect of immune fixation did not undo the immunity. That's a plausible explanation supported by real science ;-)

The trial of a Corporstion or a mandating Licensing Medical College can be “Fined” for their complicity of no true informed consent of mandated injections.
