I don’t know of any place that requires a vaccine card or a negative test However, Billie Ellish is requiring this for her concert (not the arena). People keep asking where to get a test on our community FB page. Can you imagine this CA residents? Only the old, sick and Fed employees got the jabs. Plus, there is no requirement for tests. But, our numbers are “high” and federal money is flowing into our state. It saved us a state tax increase since our state is under a federal court order to improve our prisons. Now we have plenty of money to build new prisons! Thanks everyone!

My fair tyranny of San Francisco loves PCR and Vax. So do varied religious congregations who shut down and go on Zoom and reopen and refuse admittance without vax or PCR test. This is always in accordance with City and State laws and doubtlessly consultation with lawyers. Leon Bloy writes-The magnificent superiority of the bourgeois is grounded on unbelief, even after he has seen and touched. No! upon the utter impossibility of seeing and touching, due to unbelief.” The bourgeois is an idolater, enslaved by the visible. “Idolatry is the preference of the visible to the invisible.” “Business” is the bourgeois’s god, his absolute. It was the bourgeois who crucified Christ: on Golgotha he cut the world off from Christ, “money” from the poor. The Poor and Money are great symbols for Bloy. There is a mystery of money, it's mysterious separation for the spirit, and the middle-class world is governed by this money bereft of the spirit. Middle-classdom is opposed to the Absolute, it is destructive of eternity.

Flying Cristina's avatar

Went and read some of the tweets in reply to Wen’s. Watching them out virtue signaling each other. . . 🍿. It’s been fascinating watching people honestly think that wearing a mask and getting a vaccine will be the only things protecting them from dying, and that those that don’t do it are killing them.

John Bowman's avatar

Did they miss Fauci telling everyone that vaccinated still needed masks because they could transmit the virus just the same as not-vaccinated, and vaccinated still getting infected?

Stegiel's avatar

And observed through millennia most prefer obedience and making bank. This proves fatal with vaccines.

Bill Heath's avatar

It's a member of one of the strains of the common cold viruses. It is quite contagious but not particularly dangerous. We've known for more than a century to put people outdoors and in sunlight, and to focus our resources on the old and the obese, and leave everyone else alone pending more information. So, we did the exact opposite.

John Bowman's avatar

Exactly. And broke first rule of contagion control: DO NOT mix infectious people and their contacts with non-infected people. Instead they shovelled CoVid cases and contacts into care homes and admitted CoVid cases into the general hospital population and allowed contacts - hospital staff, other patients, visitors - to come and go taking infection out of the hospital and into the community.

This is why our ancestries before The Science™️ was invented built isolation hospitals out in the fields. But what did they know?

SimulationCommander's avatar

But doing what we've always done wouldn't have gotten rid of Trump. It's not a coincidence that covid mania started right after impeachment theater failed.

John Bowman's avatar

You know, I have a similar notion about global warming/climate lunacy. It took off during the reign of King Dubya who is a close second to Trump in the disdain and loathing he attracted. Just as every World ‘leader’ sneered and distanced themselves from Trump, they did likewise with Dubya. He, like Trump, didn’t buy into the climate scam, and I noticed that other World ‘leaders’ lined up to be for it just to separate themselves from Dubya. Even his BFF Tony Blair, accused of being Dubya’s poodle, joined the pro-scam lobby just to show he was in fact not controlled by Dubya. Thus was the climate change movement put centre stage globally with all but one ‘leader’ singing from the same hymne sheet - and with a mentally deranged teen girl as mascot.

Bill Heath's avatar

There would have been something to justify The Resistance. Otherwise Trump would have won in a landslide. COVID19 was convenient.

Timothy Andrew Staples/pop122's avatar

Too convenient. Some might say "tailor-made." Just what the doctors (Dr. Marx AND Dr. Fau-scist) ordered. At least this covid shit seemed to stick better than the Russian kind. And SO much more "visible" and "pressing" than that always-too-slow-to-be-a-political-crisis AGW.

In my City masks must be on indoors at all times, City Employees must vaccinate, to dine indoors masked and vaccinated, to go to see a traveling Picasso show masked and fully boosted, andvon and on and on. California will never surrender.

Timothy Andrew Staples/pop122's avatar

I don't know: I think this year California will continue its decades-long slide from "leader" to follower. Iow, it will open up, too, even if the government does kicking and screaming. Eventually, even the woke and the Left don't like being held down and told what to do.

Stegiel's avatar

County by county it is in a way. We went to Monterey in October. No vax mandate for restaurants but masks. Starting November the Aquarium requires vaccine. I am thinking that freedom surrendered to fear. Too many people were ordered to vaccinate and complied. I cannot envision the Aquarium changing policy. In fact I think unless big donors back off the policy the Aquarium is happy to toe the line. In San Francisco the cunning of the City closing businesses and reopening saw bar and restaurant owners beg for vaccine only indoors. Again, unless a major shift in the wind comes these laws are etched in stone. And by major I mean walking back propaganda of two years, walking back LA demanding masks for Superbowl despite politicians posing for pictures unmasked.

Timothy Andrew Staples/pop122's avatar

Your pessimism is understandable, and you might be right that things will continue to get worse, but I can't believe it can last for TOO long.

Btw, imo, the demand from businesses for stricter lockdowns is of a piece with the well-known crony-Capitalist phenomena of "competition restriction." Once the public starts taking off their masks, the businesses will welcome the business, have no doubt.

Stegiel's avatar

They would. However the utility of fear is the issue. Omicron on our SF Bay TV keeps the fear alive. The attractiveness of fascism for Californians does not, in itself, explain the Covid defeat but it helps us to understand the ease, the naturalness, with which the Sanitary Emergencyregime was set up in California and the wide consensus it enjoyed. We now know that Covid-19 was neither an accident nor an aberration but the logical sequel to a host of imaginative attempts at political renewal in the half-century which preceded the collapse of 2020. The thinking on the Left as well as on the Right - contributed to the Covid confinements and helped promote a distinctive mentality valuing masking, social distance, vaccines, and the repression of liberalism and individualism arising from the overall concept of Safety. Californians upper strata is the bourgeois type who corresponds to certain definite psychological predispositions. In other words there is such a thing as a bourgeois soul and it is in this rather than in economic circumstance that the whole development of the bourgeois culture finds its ultimate root. The holy ego must be protected.

Timothy Andrew Staples/pop122's avatar

Very well stated, and I hope it doesn't surprise you that I agree completely with your take on things here. I just think that the arc of history is not set in stone, and with dawning realization among even this damn California bourgeois culture (a most apt description for California's own post-WWII historical arc) that SARS-Covid-19 is NOT the threat these un-knowing Fascists (an even more apt description, imo) either 1) made it out to be, nor 2) responded to at all! All they did was use it to further destroy Capitalism (if that term bothers you, substitute Classical Liberalism; they mean the same thing historically).

You may be right. The end of Covid might not change a thing.

But I think it will. I think the silver lining might just be another nail in the coffin of the anti-Capitalism (again, you don't have to agree with my preferred terminology, but I think you know what I mean by now) of the Left (substitute Progressive, Neo-liberal, Modern Liberal, Socialist, Fascist, ....)

Stegiel's avatar

Yes, this is accurate. On the other hand dialing back the restrictions is a kind of Gorbachev moment. After Tianamen China did not dial back. This moment is very dangerous because any concessions can sink the ship. If as I think mass murder and tyranny are the objectives-ADE from vaccines, etc, and creation of a broken public,-they cannot dial back much. Actually what they have to do is strike harder and simultaneously dial back. They have to strike harder because in the next few months a lot of very sick people from vaccinations globally will be obvious. Perhaps this is why everything points to either domestic civil war or foreign war. Supply chain woes hit hard soon also. Democrats do not dare lose mid-Terms or jig is up. Cannot cancel them just yet either.

SimulationCommander's avatar

And that's the simple fact: At some point reality is going to win and these people are going to be forced to acknowledge it. Will they be able to handle the fact that everything they sacrificed was for nothing? Will they be able to handle the fact that they were never 'heroes' for wearing a mask? What happens when the 'leaders' have moved on but these people are still acting like it's March 2020?

Kamran Pasha's avatar

Just saw a customer at a Whole Foods in Los Angeles yell at a cashier for wearing a cloth mask instead of an N-95. These mask fascists will continue to fight the war after it is over, like that Japanese soldier who hid in the woods for decades after WWII.

Timothy Andrew Staples/pop122's avatar

But the proverbial soldier was hidden. We know right where to find the Authoritarian Socialists in our midst, and we will doggedly expose them.

Do the opposite of the State: trust the People.

SimulationCommander's avatar

I wish I had the time to just follow that woman around and scream at her every time she touched her mask. I watch people all the time, and it's rare that somebody goes 30 seconds without fiddling with it.

Timothy Andrew Staples/pop122's avatar

Yes, the "kicking and screaming" will certainly be painful to society, and a certain crowd will continue doubling down.

Sigh. (And I hate it when a post is ended with a "sigh.")

Hidden Markov Respecter's avatar

Even their state-by-state % reduction map is pretty weak sauce: if a state started this reduction analysis in the twilight zone of near-zero, a 50% reduction in cases would be hard to achieve. But then, that state is made to look like it isn't doing too hot. Alabama is still in the throes of a cresting wave, but I don't want to point out the race demographics of AL, nor the fact that for 40 years they have been our most obese, most diabetic state.

streamfortyseven's avatar

The darker the skin, the less endogenous D3 produced. That's why blacks, Native Americans, and Hispanics have taken greater hits that people with white skins.

Hello300's avatar

We haven’t had restrictions in Alabama since last spring so a change in numbers doesn’t matter. It is true that the only people who I know died from Covid (2) were black. That makes the lack of early treatment or even providing Vitamin D seem like genocide to me.

Hidden Markov Respecter's avatar

Why does Brandon hate black people?

Timothy Andrew Staples/pop122's avatar

Well, to be honest (and to answer your rhetorical question as if it were ernest, which really isn't fair to your excellent point), Mr. Biden doesn't really hate (or even care!) about Blacks.

As all grifters, he's just glad they are here for his use.

SimulationCommander's avatar

Definitely can't point out those things!

BHerr's avatar

Great job! Glad you're saving the receipts so we can shove it into their nose holes.

Leana Wen sure is a piece of work. It's amazing to see psychopaths in action, and we've sure seen our share. These people, like Leana (who I suspect is a Chinese plant), literally pushed death and destruction for 2+years, and now they think they can just about face when the winds are shifting.

I'm not a psychopath, so I don't know how to go to sleep with a head full of wickedness and hypocrisy, but they sure do. It's up to us to keep them awake at night and force thir noses into the shit and death that they've piled up. Maker it indelible in their psyche's so every time they even THINK of running another scam, they'll remember that stench and throw up.

SimulationCommander's avatar

Glad you like it! This isn't the piece I was talking about earlier, I'm still wordsmithing that one to make it all pretty. I just couldn't resist showing the contrast of advice and the continuing triumph of The Political Science over The Science.

Timothy Andrew Staples/pop122's avatar

"Political science" (like "economic science") is an oxymoron, and is only used to obfuscate the truth, and fool the People.

There exists no science in politics, but there exists way too much politics in science.

Bryan L's avatar

Any bets that Gauleiter Inslee is among the last to remove the mask mandate? The WA State Covid Dashboard (https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/COVID19/DataDashboard) landing page has every county marked red because they're all over 100 cases per 100,000 people (statewide is currently 1527). But to get down to blue a county has to hit 10/100,000 (effectively Zero Covid). So they're setting the goalposts up so that they will never be reached and therefore justify their perpetual emergency.

SimulationCommander's avatar

Ding ding ding you win! Of course he had to do it with the cover of the other governors.

SimulationCommander's avatar

Dunno how long you've been reading, but I went over how Washington is lying with statistics here:

https://simulationcommander.substack.com/p/lying-with-statistics

When the data doesn't look scary enough, simply move the goalposts and "boom", everything is scary red.

Bryan L's avatar

Yeah, I went back and read that one. I've also noticed that the topline "percent vaccinated" keeps jumping down because they keep lowering the age bracket. I'm sure we hit 80% fully vaccinated *of adults* long ago, but then they lumped in 12-18 and that number went down, and now it's 5-12.

SimulationCommander's avatar

And from what I can tell, our available beds have dropped to roughly 7,000. (From 9,000 at the first "adult acute beds" goalpost) https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/COVID19/DataDashboard - Healthcare system Readiness - Hospital Occupancy. This shows our 7-day bed total is 50,000 or so, or just over 7,000 per day.

So after two years of time to prepare to save the hospitals, we're running about 78% of our former capacity.

Bryan L's avatar

Yeah, I would take healthcare workers' complaints a lot more seriously if they had spent the last two years improving capacity instead of dancing on TikTok and firing a quarter of their staff.

SimulationCommander's avatar

I hold out a tiny sliver of hope that all the dancing videos were to show people how much time they had without explicitly speaking out against the narrative.

I’m afraid Inslee and Brown are going to keep masks indefinitely. Already in Oregon, it’s permanent. They “promise it will get lifted ‘eventually’ and it’s not ‘forever’”

SimulationCommander's avatar

It's amazing how fast these tyrants have ruined the Pacific Northwest.

Tessa VB's avatar

It truly is. But, mask mandate protests are gaining at local schools, and now there’s a bill introduced into legislature that will finally limit Inslee’s emergency powers and it was introduced by house democrats so maybe team reality is beginning to shine here

I live in a VERY small county in PNW… we’ve not only had mask mandates, but vax mandates to enter bars/restaurants. And the people on my Nextdoor App Are still 100% scared to death for them to be lifted. It’s absolute insanity.

And without knowing anything else, I'm guessing your numbers were mirrored by places nearby without all the dumb rules......

By the way, if you want to see the corner the Democrats have painted themselves into, read the comments on that Twitter post. They have no idea whatsoever that millions of people have been living without covid rules for months and months, yet the virus is still receding.

Kim's avatar

This is exactly what I find when I try and discuss things with friends. Everyone is living in their own echo chambers and the gaps between them are not surmountable. There is no overlap so no ability to compromise. They really are different realities and when something happens that doesn't make sense, the disconnect is jarring and upsetting. Someone should just tell them Leana Wen is just trying to calm the nonbelievers enough so they won't bother to vote in the upcoming elections. Then she'll be more than happy to clamp down again for the winter flu season.

It’s dumb ignorance. In the absence of knowledge, intelligent thought and critical analysis, their empty, idle minds fill up with propaganda, that’s what makes them perfect dupes for the machinations of the ruling elites.

Never confuse intelligence with smart. An adult Chimp has the same intelligence as a Human 5 year old, but it cannot do what a child can nor learn and develop like it will through life.

So when I observe these dupes - who are well dispersed throughout all areas of society - I think Chimp.
