And to think Joe Rogan said Michelle would make a great presidential candidate.
And to think I know that because-- despite decidedly not being in the demographic of likely listeners-- the calls for censoring Rogan caused me to download Spotify and begin listening to his podcast.
Spot on. My wife taught in public and private schools in Santa Barbara, San Francisco, and Marin. I was shocked to learn in private Catholic high schools in San Francisco text books were 30 years old. I was equally astonished by private schools K-6 with no library, only Ipads and this true as well for a costly private high school. Marin county fared little better but did have school libraries and old text books. Education reflects the type of culture which funds it and as with many other insights arising from Covid criminality reveals how we have fallen far and fast since John Dewey's progressive education model was adopted.
The argument is a straw man. Why pay 50K per year to give a kid a science text from the 1970's? One might think over paying 50K in the first place if not providing a child with the best. The texts are not replaced because it is cheaper, not because they are superior.
No offense taken. I was coming from a different direction. To be honest the notion of what texts are taught is important, but I was not considering it.
I am fighting for my freedom in Cook County but not sure how much longer I can stay living under such tyranny. The jabs don’t stop transmission nor keep people from catching this cold virus. It’s beyond ridiculous I am not allowed in my gym with natural T cell immunity to stay healthy and fit. This is not about health at all!
I’m here in Chicago too. Boycotting all restaurants and will do so until we move out of state soon. I hope you can find like minded people here but I also hope you can seek freedom elsewhere. Lori has no plans to lift the vax mandate.
I haven't worn a mask in King County in a few months but it never stops being anxiety producing to go into stores and wonder if I'm going to be yelled at. The "I didn't get screamed at" high is pretty great though. I'm similarly pessimistic about Inslee ever lifting any of the mandates.
The public education system is beyond broken. Has been for time out of mind. On the other hand, parents were dumbed down in public schools as well, and grand parents. And to be frank, private schools are differently inculcating stupidity. The Voucher system of education has the merit of allowing tax payers to use their money to find a superior way of education. It is not perfect. However far superior to the schooling for barbarians that is brutality. I have thought for many years that a private tutor is far better than a credentialed teacher. Then of course there is https://livingjoyfully.ca/deschooling/
One silver lining here has been the creation of learning pods. 10 or so parents all chipping in to create a 'classroom', paying the teacher directly. I can't help but think how closely it mirrors early American education where the locals would hire a teacher for their one-room school..........
The GoFundMe cancellation may work to the Truckers benefit as they have switched to GiveSendGo and reportedly have already received 1.1 million. More people will likely get behind the truckers for this.
Oakdale is a small Central California town full of conservatives. I’m surprised they let the school get away with something like that. Not surprised by the protest, though.

The Streisand Effect strikes again!

Well if the old textbooks aren't Howard Zinn, that may be a good thing. Plus less indoctrination in them.

Sorry to offend you. I was addressing the textbooks and not the cost issues. I'm on your side so carry on...

So you don’t think she is going to lift it at all?
Not any time soon. Chicago will be the last to lift.
King Inslee accepts the challenge.

I can’t conceive of parents allowing their children to suffer the mask abuse for two years. Locking them in a gym with no heat? Incandescent.

I certainly hope so!
Remember, these are just poor confused souls that need hugs and kisses.

I have no sympathy for parents who do not pull their kids from these schools.
I generally agree with that statement, but you do realize how nearly impossible that option is for so many parents, right?
No I don’t. Because of all things to protect aren’t your children of the highest value? What is more valuable?
its funny these lefties were all happy to be on Spotify with R Kelly
BURN!
