Politically Privileged Pro-Palestinian Protestors Plow Past Peaceful Practices
Predictably, political pandering produces problems
When we last checked in on the “Ceasefire in Gaza” movement, protestors were shutting down Union Station and similar venues in big blue cities. Seeing extremely little pushback from authorities (and/or lack of effectiveness from shutting down train stations), protestors stepped up their games over the holidays, disrupting air travel across the country:
In addition to blocking the road to the Portland airport, protestors also shut down the Morrison bridge — something they’re very proud of!
(Locals may be reminded of the summer of 2020, when a similar-looking, also well-funded protest group shut down the same bridge!)
As with the Portland airport protests, no arrests were made.
Ceasefire protestors then proceeded to disrupt the Colorado House, just as they had done last November:
In case you’re wondering — of course that’s not insurrection! It’s just a group of very loud Americans exercising their right to free speech! We value the input of (nearly) all of our constituents!
Put a couple of those protestors in MAGA hats, though……..
Similar scenes played out in Sacramento. (I found this particular article interesting because it repeatedly notes that some of the protestors are Jewish.)
Additionally, protestors dogged Connecticut governor Ned Lamont while making a completely unrelated economic speech:
Alas, Ned Lamont does not have the power to pick up the phone and stop the bombs.
To be fair, the ceasefire movement wasn’t without its victories. Here, the San Francisco local council celebrates ending the war by passing a ceasefire resolution. (I feel like I could spend all day trying to unpack everything in this 9-second clip.)
Despite this stunning and brave achievement in San Francisco, the bloodshed in Gaza continued.
Undeterred by their continued lack of success, protestors at Dallas Love Field Airport attempted to storm the tarmac as Joe Biden’s plane was landing.
Predictably, there WERE arrests for this stunt.
The insanity wasn’t limited to the United States, with protestors in Montreal showing up at the home of Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Mélanie Joly.
This reminds me of a line in a “Loki” episode I recently watched:
I guess when you think the ends justify the means, there's not much you won't do.
And as if to prove this true, back in the states protestors performed a totally not insurrection at the White House, as captured by Wid Lyman:
People who did far less than this on January 6th are being sentenced to years in jail:
No arrests were made in this clash with officers — but don’t worry, the media is here to PROVIDE CONTEXT to the claim no arrests were made!
So maybe they didn’t arrest the people who threw stuff at officers and dislodged the security gate in front of the White House, but they DID arrest an entirely different group of people at a totally different time in a completely different area.
CONTEXT, PEOPLE!
It’s no surprise this lack of consequences led to another escalation: protesting outside New York City’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which also functions as a pediatric hospital.
Alas, cancer patients also do not have the power to stop the war — so we can expect the protests to continue and escalate.
In reading about these protests around the country, I see over and over again protestors saying that there will be no “normal” until the Biden administration stops funding war in Israel. (Of all the things that won’t happen, that won’t happen the most. Funding overseas wars is basically our entire national identity at this point.)
But how can so many people protest for so long in so many places? It may or may not surprise you to find out that many protestors are getting paid — some directly, others via non-profit organizations partially funded by taxpayers! Yes, you could be paying for the idiot standing in the road preventing you from catching your flight!
Any of this starting to remind you of anything? Near-instant nationwide protests organized by well-funded groups who won’t allow you a moment of peace unless you bend the knee to their particular cause?
No? What if I add a picture?
How about now?
But while these might be the same types of protestors being funded by the same types of people as in 2020, politically we’re in a much, much different place. Of course, back then, Democrats openly cheered for protestors as they attacked federal buildings and officers. They even complained when Trump moved to protect both when local governments refused to act.
Even though, at its core, BLM was largely a movement that accused big blue cities of having racist police forces, the Democratic mayors of those cities AGREED WITH THE PROTESTORS! (How crazy is that!)
In 2020, the over-arching narrative was that Trump’s America was a dangerous place to live, and if he tried to make it a little less dangerous, that was EVEN MORE DANGEROUS FOR AMERICA.
All of 2020’s realities are irrelevant now that Biden is in the White House and standing in direct opposition to the protestors. And while support of Israel used to be incredibly bipartisan, ceasefire protestors are nearly exclusive to the left, as exampled by the makeup of the group that interrupted Lamont’s speech:
This fracturing of the left has driven Biden’s support to new lows (the one constant of his presidency!) as the youth vote abandons him over his handling of Israel. This is quite a problem for Biden, as the “oppressors/oppressed” filter much of the left (especially the young left) uses means they actively cheer against American policy and for Palestine — or Yemeni pirates. (As if the world were black-and-white like a Marvel movie. Well, Marvel movies aren’t IN black-and-white, but you know what I mean!)
Ultimately, I think Biden will continue his current strategy of pretending these protestors don’t exist. It’s extremely unlikely the hardcore left will actually vote for Donald Trump, so Biden is unlikely to ultimately pay much of a political price at the ballot box — which seems to be the only calculation that matters these days.
This is terrible news for everybody, because emboldened protestors will steadily increase the annoyance of their events until the public VERY PUBLICLY lashes out against them. (When it happens, that will be racism, obviously.)
In 2020 we found out the left will encourage rioters for political reasons. In 2024, I fear we’ll find the left will ignore rioters for political reasons as well.

We had the same here when the lib lunatic idiot running NM was interrupted several times but called the protesters brave or courageous 🤬🖕🏻🙄

Murder is wrong no matter who does it for whatever reason. Murder is distinct from the word kill.
