(Note for new subscribers: On Monday, I recap some of the positive stories/funny memes I’ve come across in the last week. We can ALL use some extra joy this week, so please add your own in the comments!)
We’re going to start today off with two apologies! First, I was too hungover yesterday to finish the longform article I’m working on, so it will be out tomorrow instead. When did booze get so strong, anyway? I could have sworn I used to be able to drink way more……..
Second, a few of you have mentioned a lack of dogs in the most recent Monday posts, so I went out of my way to find some puppy videos this week. (The things I do for you!)
That said, let’s start this thing off right! (Best with sound for the first 2 seconds)
When you’re just out doing your thing, but you see the Monday post has puppies:
When I was a young boy, said put away those young boy ways.
Now that I’m getting older, so much older — I long for those young boy days.
Weird how the 5-year-olds are like 200 these days. I guess age really IS just a number!
Today’s onion-cutting story of the day comes to us from Grottoes, Virginia courtesy of WHSV. While at a recent medical appointment, local woman Robin Sipe told her doctor that she was feeling depressed after the recent loss of her kitty. (A pain many of us know all too well.)
Doctor Earl King immediately wrote a prescription — yes, an actual prescription — for Sipe to get a new cat. (King obviously knows of the many health benefits of having a kitty around!)
“Cats and dogs are important for patients for comfort or touch or wellbeing of their cardiovascular health, lung health,” Dr. King said.
That VERY SAME DAY after leaving her medical appointment, Sipe traveled to a local farm to buy some produce. There, she ran into Earlene (the small fuzzy one below):
Due to an accident shortly after she was born, Earlene is missing most of one of her front paws. Despite this physical challenge, Earlene loves to play with her new owner, who states that both of them are much happier with the company of the other.
Maybe the most touching thing about the story is every time Sipe calls out Earlene’s name, she’ll be reminded of the doctor who brought them together: Earl King.
This was an insta-add to the Happy folder:
This article is for things that make me laugh…..even if they may not be legal.
The *bop* out of the window is the chef’s kiss here. I could watch it a hundred times!
Speaking of illegal things, and also things that make me laugh:
It’s funny and we (or at least I) can laugh about it now, but this video is a perfect example of why police shouldn’t be doing no-knock raids: any idiot can say “POLICE” as he’s kicking in your front door.
My buddy and I are playing through Baldur’s Gate III, and couldn’t resist taking a photo after “liberating” Gortash’s throne room:
I’m the owlbear on the throne — making this technically a pawsitivity post!
There’s been a lot of talk about Joe and Hunter selling “The Biden brand.” But what IS the Biden brand? That’s easy:
That will be 40%, please.
That’s it for today! I’m out of here……..eventually………

Dawgs!
I'd seen the 'police' vid, but got a hoot again when that last perp kicked the door open and took a blast from the home owner. Too bad it wasn't a shotgun the homeowner was using. Still, I'm thinking those thugs might have needed some extra strength Tide for their skivvy's.
That is one smart kitty in that last vid!
i loathe--i really do loathe--dogs like that. it's not their fault of course that they've been bred so far from their rightful selves. but still. give us some videos of proper working dogs, working.
that bicyclist is sort of everything wrong with much of modern maleness. driver's the opposite.
