Late to the party here… has anyone mentioned that Nome’s on again off again affair with Cory Lewandowski was going to be low hanging fruit for media looking for smut before the mid-terms..
Interesting how the Dems and the fake news instantly lied about Noem being "fired". She was so successful at her job that she received a promotion from Trump. And her position will be filled by another true MAGA patriot. All good.
I never trusted her... I've lived in SDakota for 21 years... she is not a horrible person but she appreciates success over honesty. I do have examples but not worth it. There are far many people worse than she but once I have seen someone lie, they are not my friend.
I was not surprised. I very much liked Noem's record as governor (and looked on enviously from Minnesota), but I never understood how that qualified her to run DHS of all things. It always felt like she got the nod simply for being a hot female conservative.
I just don't see how being the governor of South Dakota lends one any particular national security expertise. Doug Burgum for Interior made perfect sense to me, and he's been fantastic. Noem just seemed like a weird fit. Why DHS?
On the one hand, firing a key cabinet member involved in a key administrative agenda item is a negative PR event.
On the other hand, Trump fires people that are not performing at the top requirement, while Democrats never fire even the most demonstrated incompetent boob.
The thing about Trump that has been consistent his second term is appointing a cabinet of people that are smarter than him in their lane. I think Noem was in over her head… maybe the most politically charged role of any cabinet member. However, she is holding some remaining advisory position. Fauci was very qualified in his lane, just corrupt.
👍🙂 Kind of amused to see a cartoon or meme showing "all" the dogs in Christendom giving a thumbs up to Kristi having gotten the boot, or hook, as the case may be. Not sure of the back story there, but seems she had killed her own dog at one point. Although it is unknown, at this point, at least in that story, whether it was because she found the dog "inconvenient" or because she took pity on it and put it out of its misery. So maybe that thumbs-up bears a different interpretation or three.
Though, en passant and apropos of which, kind of amused by some Google search results by their AI, Gemini, that indicated the thumbs-up is taken as an insult by many Muslims whereas in Western cultures it's often a sign of approval. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Intergalactic wars, 1066 and all that.
Though I doubt I would ever give a sign of approval to any Muslim, though there are some exceptions, or to Islam in general. Muslim reformer Shireen Qudosi once argued that Islam itself needs to "reform or it needs to die". Which certainly has my vote, either way.
But, ICYMI, my older elaboration on that theme echoed or endorsed by some of those potential reformers:
Though, if I remember correctly, the editors there at Post Millennial had replaced the "coexist" in my requested article title with their own "coincide". Which I rather objected to, though I didn't get or find the opportunity to raise my objections with them.
But that sort of mass-approved mistake shows a lack of political savvy that's almost certainly fatal at a high level. Sort of like DeSantis and his '24 run. There were ways that he could have pulled it off but he did none of them. He's a great governor and continues to deliver for Florida, but that sort of mistake you usually don't recover from.
Hundreds of people must have looked over that book before publication -- the fact that none of them nixed it is worrisome.
Thanks. Though that reminds me of a video, one I think you posted the other day, of a cat sitting on a fence post as a mother hen and her chicks went by. A fox, a tail-end Charlie, had swooped in to pick up a straggling chicken, and both cat and mother hen leaped into the fray to drive the fox off, though I missed the final scenes. 🙂
But I can't say that I'd fault Kristi for putting that in her book. The "dog" was clearly more wolf than not and needed to take its lumps.
DHS posted this on the 5th: "Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem, America is Safer" https://www.dhs.gov/news/2026/03/05/thanks-president-trump-and-secretary-noem-america-safer
It's extraordinarily long; someone's being extremely defensive.
I would like any one of us to attempt to do any Cabinet job, for even one day....
So after the bogus globalist "Board of Peace" we are getting the "Shield of the Americas." Dick Cheney would be so happy.
She got promoted!

Mullin is indeed a member of the Cherokee Nation. Will he ever make a joke about a "Native American" trying "to Keep our Border Secure"?
I live in South Dakota and I liked her as our governor very much. Less so in the DHS role.

He is no "true MAGA patriot." Might need to go do your research.

A good administrator with gubernatorial experience should be able to run any cabinet department if loyal to the president who appointed him/her.

It's called political payback.
She was loyal, that's for sure.

Let's be honest, Trump is a bit trigger-happy, the puzzle being why he didn't fire Fauci.

Because everyone outshone Biden
The dark side of the moon outshines him.
Ritual sacrifice. Donald's running scared, I think.
lol
Am I really shallow to say that I never trusted a woman who opted for lip injections to be in charge of a massive federal agency?
Oh, looks like it takes her 2 hours to get her look together for each event. I don't take someone seriously when they look like her and Bondi.
💋👄🫦
Am I really shallow that I don't trust any woman to be in charge of anything?
Since I am a woman (a grandma!) that’s farther than I’m willing to go.
I'm willing to make an exception for grandmothers without tattoos
Deal! No tattoos here.
But Noem and not Bondi? It’s been a year and neither improved.
Bondi is WAY worse than Noem, IMO.
Way!
I count 14 position vacancies at https://www.dhs.gov/leadership, including all 4 FEMA posts, although Karen Evans is acting administrator.
Noem complained this week about FEMA not getting enough support from Congress.

IIRC the dog killed some chickens. Killing it was the right thing to do -- putting it in her book was not.
The point was to show she wasn’t some city snowflake.
Out in the country things need to be done and you are the only one who can.
I think it was a tone thing and the crazies were always going to be horrified and hateful.
Oh I get what she was trying to do.

It was a specific signal and it was not directed at the woke
I have a hell of a lot more respect for someone who shoots their own dog instead of paying someone else to.
