I read decades ago that Webster created his dictionary because he was aware of the creeping, slippery, sliding changes of definitions mainly by lawyers and politicians. Not that that has stopped it. Now they use slang to re-define words, like "sick" means good, or "wicked" means terrific. Gay once meant happy and care free, now it's a sexual orientation and so on.
SimulationCommander, this redefinition of words by gutting them of their useful meaning has been in the playbook for decades now. Do you recall the rhetorical tricks played by those who campaigned for the change of the meaning of the word marriage? The word violence, also has been gutted and its empty shell stuffed with ambiguity that is now endlessly pliable in the hands of the manipulators. The various terms used to identify people by skin colour has also undergone many shifts. Then there is the abortion issue which has advanced only by shutting down people whose reasonable arguments and views are called extremist even in our courts because of the surgical strikes on key words and their useful meaning. You may notice that many of these examples have become what the MSM refer to as hot button issues which in itself is a marginalization of the substance of the issues and the exageration of the smoke and mirrors. It does not matter that the constitution had a clear meaning, its no longer relevant in the view of the covidmaniacs. The capture of the language is the capture of the capacity of people to imagine and to concieve of ideas that carry great significance but which become husks and dust under the grinding of the Ministry of Truth. Its wheels never stop.
Shocking. BLM was not peaceful and did not have any legitimate grievance but captured and conquered hearts and minds while looting and rioting. Now you have this trucker protest backed by Soros stooges and Ottowa escalates. Imagine that. Tamara Lich, co-organizer and spokesperson for ‘Canada unity’ is heavily involved in George Soros' Wexit movement headed by Peter Downing. Lich is on the board of directors of the ‘maverick party’, formerly Wexit Canada, after her involvement with Wexit Alberta which became the ‘wildrose independent party’
The organization receiving all this gofundyourself money is 'canada unity'; who has been thoroughly exposed for using this as an attempt to install communist styles citizens committees under the guise of human rights. "canada unity' itself is for all practical purposes a fundraising and activism organization stemming from the Wexit movement.
I'm not arguing. I'm just saying. I work in healthcare & we have always gotten a flu "vaccine". I don't know that the definition changed for COVID. I too have since wondered how in 1964 I got a vaccine that protected me from disease & in this glorious age of modern medicine they can no longer pull that off
If I redefine mass so that boulders fly off into space when you kick them as hard as you can, will you kick a boulder? What they claim is a lie, just as they've been lying all the time. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Everything these people say or claim is a self-serving lie, better to ignore their words altogether and make up your own mind from your own knowledge and experience.
The Left has been changing words/definitions for years, e.g. illegal aliens became undocumented workers. Under the guise of political correctness, compassion, whatever, they have taken control of the language. If you control the language, you control the conversation and alter the way people think.
"Antivaxxer" has always been a meaningless term parroted by imbeciles. Parents who vaccinated their children but regretted it because of vaccine injury were "antivaxxers". Doctors who professionally vaccinate children like Bob Sears are "antivaxxers"

Worth noting also, the definition of "Pandemic" was changed not too long ago. This whole thing would not have been possible otherwise.

While I don't necessarily disagree and unless I missed them, you need to reference where you are getting the old and new definitions.

How can I trust the science when the science changes month to month? That's a question we can put to the public health authorities in particular.
