A couple of weeks ago I posted a video of a human trick, and everybody knows the only way to top a human trick is to make it a dog trick. Enter Wolfgang Lauenburger and his adorable puppers Balu:

In a story that sounds like something out of a Tom Hanks movie (which was about a real story), a man who had been in stateless limbo for years has been cleared to fly to his new home of Canada.
Hassan Al Kontar, a former Syrian national, was working in the United Arab Emirates when Syria’s civil war broke out. When the UAE didn’t renew Al Kontar’s passport and he refused to go back to Syria (and be forced into military service), the former Syrian found himself without a home. Al Kontar wrote a book about his experiences, in which he credits social media for giving him the voice that eventually led to his “forever home.”

And in more serious good news, after being trapped for more than 8 hours by a trench collapse on Wednesday, Jason Hansell was rescued (and has since been cleared to leave the hospital). Just before his rescue, Hansell got some news to keep his spirits up during the harrowing adventure:
First responders were barely able to corral Hansell and prevent him from diving back into the trench. (I kid, I kid!)

One of my favorite MLK speeches, on MLK day!
Thanks for the MLK speech clip. I showed it to a youngster in my life who thought that MLK was “about black rights.” We talked about MLK being for constitutional rights for all people, of all races. We talked about Freedom of Speech, and Freedom of Assembly. What would MLK say about current legislation that threatens those equal jrights? Like HB 1333 in WA or this federal bill https://trendingpoliticsnews.com/house-democrat-introduces-legislation-to-end-free-speech-for-white-people/ ? Both bills try to define domestic extremist or hate speech only as white speech- what would MLK say?
