Apparently not happy with the threat of a nuclear war with ONE country, last week Nancy Pelosi poked China by making an incomprehensible stop in Taiwan.
With the political acumen of our ‘leaders’, I wouldn’t be surprised if this visit ended up angering Taiwan AND China. “Why on earth did you Americans send this woman here to babble at us and piss off the mainland? Now they’re lobbing missiles over our heads.”
China has also enacted trade sanctions in response to the visit. For what, exactly? There was never any strategic political goal to be obtained. Pelosi is, of course, free to visit wherever she wants as a private citizen — but she’s not entitled to a military transport just because she wants to pump up her investments.
How did we get to the point where historically unpopular octogenarians are galivanting around the globe, bringing us dangerously close to armed conflict with nuclear-capable countries? Can you imagine how much the rest of the world is laughing at us?
Side note, I was pretty sure I remembered that Ben Franklin quote differently — I thought it was about the perils of trading (actual) liberty for (imagined) security. Turns out I was mistaken and Pelosi nailed it.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend — it might be the last.
And still wearing that ridiculous effin diaper over her smug, deranged, deluded, corrupt, evil, lying, tyrannical mouth. That's enough for me to feel like nuking someone.
I’m 65. My parents are 85 and 89. I feel well-qualified to say there is NO WAY that elderly people should be running anything, much less our entire government. Ageism is another piece of leftist BS. If you have lived a full life of raising good kids and working hard, by age 65 you no longer have the mental energy required to run the government. Doesn’t mean you can’t contribute, as a (hopefully) sage elder, but no way as the person in charge. Octogenarian leaders are dangerous, and then there’s also the mental illness aspect...
