One of the (very few) ways I provide value to subscribers is reading through lengthy documents and providing summaries. This sometimes involves files obtained through FOIA requests, but often the information is public and just waiting for somebody with too much time on their hands to come by. This latter group encompasses today’s article, which covers yesterday’s 41-page filing from Trump’s lawyers in Jack Smith’s long and winding case against the former president. (In the last “important” twist, Smith recently argued Trump should be barred from discussing ‘irregularities’ surrounding January 6th and the 2020 election.)
I love doing articles like this because there’s usually a chance to discover a hidden gem or two.
Not so in this case. Trump’s filing can be summarized by this video:
In fact, this filing looks very similar to the 71-page document filed on December 23rd, which makes many of the same arguments.
Here’s the more recent document’s summary of argument:
…….and that’s basically it. The document goes on to cite cases and give reasons the government is wrong in its indictments. Trump’s lawyers argue the proper (and only) outlet to punish a president performing his official duties is through impeachment and removal — and barring those events, Trump remains immune to criminal prosecution for official acts made while president.
The law seems to be on Trump’s side here, although I believe we’re long past the law being the determining factor in this case. Oral arguments in the case are expected to resume on January 9th.
Apologies for the brevity of today’s article, but there simply wasn’t that much “there” there! Maybe next time we’ll get something juicy……until then, have a great day, Screamers!

To “muck it up” a bit, I suppose we can discuss the ridiculous (but predictable) reaction to this case from the usual suspects on the left that if Trump is immune, then Biden can just stay in power forever. I find these admissions a little telling, and am I reminded that “everything Hitler did was legal.”
The way I see this case, it is a win-win for Trump and his lawyers.
If SCOTUS rules Trump is immune great.
If they rule against immunity, that opens up Obama, Bush, Clinton and the estates of every presidents' families to being sued.
The traitor/parasite class has painted itself into a very nasty corner. IMO
You do the heavy lifting, what a man!
