Those waves call to me. Water calls me.

Thanks you. But then again, pain. I’m not there.

Anyone have any idea how to reach the management of Substack? They've totally changed the format of most of the posts I receive today, squeezing them into a tiny left hand section of the screen.

Long read, but so worth the history. Incidentally, I disagree somewhat with Mr. Cannon here, but I now plan on reading every entry in his The 1735 Project.

Saturday I walked my only daughter down the aisle. Yesterday we finished cleaning up and took some much-needed rest. Today I'm back at work. Life just keeps moving along, sometimes far too quickly. Thanks for the relaxing video.

Rinsed and repeated a couple times since it's been pouring buckets (flash flood warnings the past two days) where I is now. I'm sure the climate kooks will make something of it.

Knew it was a sunset, reminds me of growing up on a Florida coast. Think I'll pass it along to a few folks to mellow...

I kind of love the time-difference. You put up a nice shot of sunrise/-set (?) over the ocean, perfect weather and all.

Here, it's as black as agent Dale Cooper's coffee and the various stingers and biters are out in force.

Currently enjoying watching "Smokey and the Bandit" with a grog and a cup of coffee, listening to some kind of animal or other shrieking out in the forest (fox, or lynx).

Soothing and needed today. The more we learn, the more the dark side of humanity shows. God still brings the sunrise and for that, I am eternally grateful. Watched this several times; thank you.

Today is our wedding anniversary. 40 years!!! holy moly.

When we got married on that Sunday, it was 101º in Alexandria Virginia. But no one sneezed over it or had a coronary either.

Anyway. on THE 9/11 my hubbs was working in Crystal City Arlington Va and he did indeed have a meeting at the pentagon/ We discussed the days plans in the morning bc he wa going to come home early and we would get some chinese with the girls. Anyway.

At 9:00 am I was listening to my fav classical music station and of course they cut in with the planes and all of that horror. I thought, 'wow too bad. crazy mooslems" and donned my skate bag and drove to the ice rink close by. I got there and there was no skating bc everyone was outside looking for planes to come crashing into the ice rink in Ashburn Va..... What a day. Anyway, when they mentioned the Pentagon I freaked.

long story short, you know that video they have on Wiki I think of the plane hitting the helipad and smashing the side of the pentagon? There is a pentagon shuttle bus stop there, and that bus is usually late. However for some nutty reason it was on time and picked up my hubbs and as he was leaving, like completely OUT and away from the area, the plane hit. My hubbs did not see it. So he was back in Crystal City and it was impossible to get him by phone bc tech bk then was sucky. Anyway, I got frantic and he finally called me at noon-ish. he was stuck in Arlington the sky was black, the interstates were clogged and there was no way he was coming home any time soon.

He did make it home, I can't remember what time.

The only thing I will never forget is his voice and his response. He was in shock. First off, he was quite well aware of the area that was destroyed and he knew people there that died instantly.

Secondly, when he called me, he was with his work mates (government people, he worked at DIA) and he was kind of "laughing" and telling me he was okay. I really did not like that call. I begged him to come home.

Anyway, that was that. It was a terrible and sad day.

We are making pizza's for dinner out of naan bread and then having apple pie.

We have been eating too much (using up daddy's meal plan and Ashby Ponds/they give you piles of food) and I do not feel like getting stuffed at a local restaurant, Maybe tomorrow.

Most of us (assuming we're old enough) have pretty dull 9/11 stories, especially if they don't take place in the Northeast. But that one's worth re-telling.

You know what is fun, comparing aging rockers music persona to their vaxx statements. Gene Simmons, such a rebel!!

Sacramento.

Was supposed to be for a year, 30 years later...

I still visit family down there, but if I tried to surf now I'd probably die because I'd accidentally cut off some kid who thinks he is God's gift to the waves and he and his buddies would shank me. I was in Santa Cruz in late July and I was shocked how many people were in the water, waiting for an EPIC 4 foot wave. So much of life seems to be driven by Istagram now, "I look so cool with my board and my wetsuit (surf without one, junior, you'd be tougher) and my posts about my unbelievably awesome riding skills, I'd go pro, but this job at Apple is really about saving the world." Clowns.

Seems like every 20 year-old thinks he/she/it/xi/si/di is Bohdi from Point Break.

Strava is a social media app for "athletes", bike, run, swim, you can share with your friends what you did for a workout. Since they added the photo option into the app instead of linked to Instagram 6 or 7 years ago, the amount of time some of my wife's friends spend taking pictures of themselves during/after every run has exploded exponentially. I always warn my nephew's, if you marry a vapid person, prepare to spend 2 hours everyday waiting for your significant other to do something, and be prepared to be treated like a dog.
