Wonderful. Though your speech credited Brandon with more intelligence, integrity and coherence than he actually has.

I liked his comments. He was speaking of freedom prevailing against autocrats. Hmmm.... look in the mirror Joe Biden. Look in the mirror.

Biden talks about how this is going to wreck Russia's economy, which is funny. We financed this invasion when Biden made us reliant on Russian gas and oil, to the point where I cannot find a reliable source for how much oil we're buying from Russia on a daily basis.

This is the ultimate cost of Trump Derangement Syndrome. I'm not a Trump fan, never voted for him, but I have to note that Biden is actually a major downgrade.

I began following Trump in the early 1970s. He didn't get his start with inherited money, he got it with tilting the playing field through corrupt relationships with officials. He hasn't changed in the interim; the only thing that changed since Democrats were lining up in front of him with kneepads is that he changed Party registration.

With all this sanctions talk, can't Russia buy whatever they need from China (already their top trade partner)? https://globaledge.msu.edu/countries/russia/tradestats

India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Amenia, Afghanistan (well maybe not, plenty of bad blood there), Vietnam, DPRK, Kambodja, Burma, Somalia, Ethiopia, Cuba, Venezuela - heck name one South American or Latin American country not wanting to stick it to the US - Albania, Serbia, Makedonia maybe, Syria, Iran, the list goes on.

Might be an expensive old do for mr Biden and his nation, paying to keep Russia isolated.

To be frank, I think most people outside the West feels "What has this got to do with us?"

Meaning Biden will have to offer more profit for them in blocking off Russia, than not doing it. And then keep tabs in smuggling. Good luck with that, seeing as he (and to be honest no US presidents since Eisenhower or Truman maybe) hasn't been able to keep the southern border a border rather than a rounding mark. (We have the exact same problem, only worse.)

Wow, I didn't realize he was actually late - in fact, the video runs for 27:46 minutes before he begins! (You'd think someone in the WH would want to edit that for replay purposes, right?) And OF COURSE comments are disabled - they don't want to be overwhelmed with supportive feedback from the American people. Said No One Ever.

To be fair to Joe, the feed picked up roughly 15 minutes before he was supposed to begin. He was still 15 minutes late. I will be sending him a bill for my time. 😝

It's amazing. With the way these monsters talk, you'd think that Putin is the one who locked America down, coerced experimental medicines into people, installed "contact tracing" apps on our digital devices without our consent, closed our businesses, masked our population, demanded testing to work or get on a plane, demanded masks to get on a plane, shut off our oil pipelines with the stroke of a pen, gave police the "authority" to arrest people and even beat them up for not wearing a mask, implemented "passports" to get a cup of coffee, threatened parents who just care about what is being taught to their children in school (and the list goes on and on and on). No, it wasn't Putin who did this. It was the bloated and evil government right here in America. I'm not falling for this attempt at getting our minds off of the true villains right now in America who have, and are, maiming and killing thousands of people in the name of a virus. Nope. Not falling for it. Not this time.

I was hoping he'd find a way to recycle the "dark winter" speech. I actually think that one would have been just the right shade of threatening (if not directed at one's own citizens).

At this point a real President would pull out of NATO and tell the EU to give us a call when they wake up. A real President would turn our oil production back on, ignore the left idiots, and at some point offer to sell LNG to Europe, but at a significantly higher cost. A real President would have America producing our semiconductor chips in America and not allow sales of rare earths to China. A real President would also start removing China from our shopping lists. A real President would have left Afghanistan after we got our people and equipment out, and would not be funding the Taliban.

But of course we have a sock puppet that needs 100cc's of B-12 to read off a teleprompter.

COVID is unpopular, gotta stuff that in the closet before November. Interestingly, the actual number of people dying from COVID will probably ride the same roller coaster as last year, since the vaccinated will never develop natural-type immunity.

Ironically, the very Karens that made the whole covid response possible might be the reason the politicians can't just ignore it.

CDC eases mask guidelines for 70% of US

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) eased mask restrictions for 70% of the US population on Friday. The decision follows the adoption of a new COVID-19 monitoring framework that focuses less on positive test results and more on how the virus is affecting hospitals, AP reports. The new system identifies 70% of the US population in areas with “low” to “medium” COVID-19 community level, meaning most people can stop wearing masks, The Hill reports. The mask mandate remains in effect for public transportation.

From The Telegraph's article entitled *Greater Russia is now a full-spectrum commodity superpower, less vulnerable to sanctions than Europe itself*

"Who knew that almost 90pc of Europe’s imports of rapeseed oil comes from Ukraine, or Spain's jamon iberica depends on grain feed from the black earth belt of the Ukrainian steppe?

Ukraine turns Putin’s neo-Tsarist empire into the Saudi Arabia of food, controlling 30pc of global wheat exports and 20pc of corn exports.

It is not just Brent crude oil that has spiked violently, hitting an eight-year high of $102. Aluminium smashed all records on Thursday. Chicago wheat futures have hit $9.32 a bushel, the highest since the hunger riots before the Arab Spring. "

My favorite part of all of these press conferences with politicians and their mouthpieces is the lack of masking of the government's stooge. No masks for Jen Psaki, no mask for Biden (he looks so frail, Slow Joe should probably always be in an iron lung), no masks for the beautiful people. But the tame press? Mask up, little ones, only daddy gets to be maskless.

yep, masks are dehumanizing, both as a visual demarker of power to outsiders and as a self-debasing tool for the wearer.

Excellent summary..

We should wonder why no one reacted like this when they annexed Crimea. Or occupied the Donbas region since 2014. Why now? Putin is doing it because he can. Pretty simple. Joe's reaction is more complicated, and more insidious.

I believe those are formally referred to as the Queen-in-Council and Queen-in-Parliament
