(Note for new subscribers: On Monday, I recap some of the positive stories/funny memes I’ve come across in the last week. Please add your own in the comments!)
Although it was a pretty positive week in general, there’s EVEN MORE to smile about on this Monday before Thanksgiving. (Short work week for the win!)
We might as well get the political stuff out the way quickly. Last night, Argentina elected Javier Milei as president — the highest office ever held by a libertarian candidate:
Argentina has been suffering from one economic crisis after another, leading the way for the country’s “Ron Paul on cocaine”:
That all sounds great…..but now comes the hard part — actually doing what he promised.
Milei’s first economics lesson should be — Minimum wage makes it illegal for those with minimal skills to bargain with the only chip they have: price.
Turning to our own economic crisis….imagine a not-so-distant future in which rising prices have forced therapists out of their posh offices and back into the workforce. Luckily for them, in THIS America, mental health professionals are needed everywhere:
It’s either laugh about it or cry about it, so……….
Is it funny even though it’s the truth, or is it funny BECAUSE it’s the truth?
Every day, a child experiences the joy and wonder of nature for the first time:
Today, that was a different child.
This isn’t exactly FUNNY, but I came across it this week and knew more than a few people would appreciate it:
And that’s also true of this one…….
Christmas is fast approaching, and it’s important to know the difference between Jolly Old Saint Nicholas and Neocon Nikki Haley (you do NOT want your Christmas wish list in the hands of Haley — especially if Ending the Fed is one of your wishes):
Instead of putting coal into your stocking, Nikki turns you into ash.
To finish up this Thanksgiving week positive post, here’s an onion-cutting video that highlights what’s REALLY important this holiday season:
These get me every time.
That’s it for today’s post, although I’m planning a special Thanksgiving Edition of Pawsitivity, as well — watch for it on Thursday!

A bonus picture of G in his nap box. He was not thrilled about the intrusion.
I also came across a surprisingly good book from 40 years ago called Rules of Thumb. One of them is: "If your doctor treats your cold, it will go away in two weeks. If you leave it alone, it will go away in fourteen days."
I’m excited about Milei winning! Most Americans have no idea what an economic basket case Argentina has been for that past hundred years - bouts of runaway inflation, regime collapse, you name it. I read an article about six months ago that said the Argentinian peso was so worthless that absolutely everyone used American dollars for their transactions- even real estate buys were done using suitcases of $100 bills. So, if Milei can get that country on a course opposite of corrupt socialism and toward a free-market system, wow, the entire Southern Hemisphere could start heading toward prosperity! Possibilities, possibilities!
