Delaware Supreme Court Takes One Small Step Toward Election Integrity
We've still a long way to go
We’re slowly regaining our election sanity in America.
This follows along with Wisconsin ruling that ballot drop boxes are illegal and Michigan finding that the Secretary of State illegally changed election rules for 2020. Similar cases had similar results in Pennsylvania, where universal mailing of ballots was declared illegal AND that Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State had no authority to arbitrarily change election deadlines. Ditto in Virginia, where the rule allowing mail-in ballots to arrive late WITHOUT A POSTMARK was determined to be illegal. (No giant integrity hole there, no siree!)
I previously wrote that it’s likely we’ll never know the truth about the 2020 election (mostly thanks to the huge holes blown in our election integrity due to covid rules), but with Biden’s plan to federalize voting procedures completely dead and state courts slowly clawing back their power, hopefully we won’t have to worry about these same holes next election.
Biden repeatedly claims to be defending our traditions and our democracy. If he was really serious about defending our traditions and our REPUBLIC, job #1 would be to ensure election integrity so the American people accept election results. That he’s instead trying to do the exact opposite tells you all you need to know about how important election integrity (and defending the Republic) really is to this administration.
The way to ensure election integrity is shut the fuck up, election-denying terrorist!
I think it's safe to assume at this point that election integrity has basically become the Democratic Party's kryptonite. Nearly everything about the 2020 election was sketchy. The notion that it was "the most secure ever" is laughable.
Before the 2020 election at least, it was commonly accepted that mail-in voting practically invites fraud. In 2005, the Carter-Baker Commission Report, which was conducted after the 2000 election to rebuild voter confidence, concluded that mail-in balloting is inherently vulnerable to fraud and abuse. In fact, the report states that mail-in ballots are “the largest source of potential voter fraud.” And wouldn’t you know it, until this past election cycle the Carter-Baker Report was considered the gold standard for election integrity, and has even been cited by the Supreme Court.
In 2012, the New York Times published a story entitled “Error and Fraud at Issue as Absentee Voting Rises.” That story’s conclusion? That “votes cast by mail are less likely to be counted, more likely to be compromised and more likely to be contested than those cast in a voting booth, statistics show.” According to the article, election officials reject double the number of ballots cast by mail than for in-person voting.
