Reading the media the last couple days, I’ve been sort of stunned. We’re literally watching the exact same people who said Trump would start a war with Russia nearly DEMAND that we start a war with Russia.
Even though after covid I knew our ‘leaders’ were anything but, I assumed they couldn’t bumble us into a nuclear war. Yet at every turn they seem insistent on ratcheting up the rhetoric, while continuing to buy oil from Russia.
The swiftness with which the covid narrative was replaced with the Ukraine narrative was horrifying. Now we’re spiraling toward Cuban Missile Crisis II: Radioactive Boogaloo, and there’s not a JFK (or even a Ron Paul!) to be found.
The American people will never care about Ukraine as much as Russia (or Hunter Biden) does. Just because the first family and their corrupt buddies are balls-deep in Ukraine doesn’t mean the rest of us should be. And worst of all, this signals to every country in the world that you shouldn’t give up your nukes based on the promises of Americans.
Depressing stuff. But here’s an adorable kitty.

Yes, but if Trump would have gone to war with Russia, it would have been wrong. Because Trump, mainly.
Since Russia was according to Russia (and the people who think if you disbelieve one narrative then the opposing one must be true) protecting russians in eastern Ukraine. (Ignore the thousands of russian troops who committed war crimes by establishing footholds there 2014 - because fighting without uniform, identifying insignia and so on is a war crime.)
Can't have Trump using the US armed forces playing world police, can we? That's for the regular owners of the two completely different parties. That's how you know the US is a democracy, they have two parties instead of one. Hey China, all you need is another communist party and you too can be a democracy!
(Insert Kuwait Benghazi Bay of Pigs Tonkin Panama Cuba Iran-Contras Indochina whatever here to virtue signal your desired tribal loyalties.)
Insert alt-narrative strawman fallacy here:
Yes but Azov Batallion! Curious how that wasn't a bit relevant until now. But they are nazis! Are they? They use nazi-imagery! Such as eagles, wreaths, lightning, skulls, and such? Yeah! Oh, well do yourself a favour mate, never take a gander at oh say US military badges and symbols, plenty of such symbols there. Well, maybe not skulls? But that's completely different! Sure it is, but then maybe don't pick symbols - instead produce statements where leaders for the unit states their political goals? (If that takes too much time, well politics isn't for you - stick with computer games.)
You know, like a speech or a pamphlet or program something - like what ACLU, BLM, Antifa and such produces. Lots of nazi ideas in their programmes, actually, such as tax-funded public kindergartens, that's an old nazi idea. Or general socialised health care, social housing, medical passports, sorting people by race and so on. All nazi ideas that.
Right, stop the rant, that's silly! Yes, brigadier it is, but it's silly with a point. Well, get to it then man! Sorry brigadier, get to what? The point, man! Right, yes well the point is - modern politicised discourse is not designed to enable us, the galley slaves/voters, to have that: civil discourse on topics.
It's designed to make us pick tribes and then scream and fling shit at eachother - like that scene in '2001' at the start when all people were apes.
Because if we can hold civil discourse, on topic, without logical fallacies? Well, can't have that. Last time the plebs and oiks had that, it took seventy years to bring the socialist block down and get business back on track, since all western leaders had to maintain politics showing that "Oh no us liberal democratic monopoly capitalist (don't say that last part out loud!) bankers and tools of the finance clans - why we love democracy! We love your itty bitty widdle notions of civil rights and equality before the law! Honest injun guv, we would nevah evah want to emulate a corporatist system, oh no not us!"
And without the soviet bogeyman, there was nothing holding [Them] back. Just remember to not use the same iconography and imagery and the hoi-polloi won't see it's the same totalitarian shackles for shekels, only gilded and online this time.
Topic, what topic?
Neoconservative elements of both parties have been floating the idea of a preemptive first strike on Russian nukes since 2006. The CFR magazine had a paper arguing our "nuclear primacy" (high tech nukes and ways of launching them) was destabilizing and might cause Russia to attack us. The best route then being nuking all their nukes real quick and maybe China's too. This was basically the foreign policy Hillary! ran on, and she was supposed to be the one to get it done. Trump's election postponed those plans, and now Biden is their man. The paper is paywalled.on CFR site now, here's link to pdf (these people are too crazy and filled with hubris to be believed, and yet) https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.belfercenter.org/sites/default/files/legacy/files/is3004_advanceproof_lieberandpress.pdf
