One of the most interesting things I’ve learned about writing is that it takes A LOT of reading. With my Substack subscription list growing, from time to time I’m forced to take a day and catch up on what the brilliant people here are discussing. Normally I just do it — I hardly think any of you are interested in the boring minutia in my life — but it was a pretty interesting weekend and there’s lots to discuss. If I’m gonna be here reading, I might as well start up a discussion thread to talk about it!
First up, Tulsi Gabbard jumps aboard (at least publicly) the train stating the FBI and intelligence agencies colluded to swing the 2020 election.
I’ll be the first (maybe) to say it — Tulsi Gabbard did not kill herself.
It’s been a couple weeks since the Nordstream pipelines were blown up, and nobody seems to be interested in getting to the bottom of the mystery. Eugyppius has a wonderful series of articles about this. (For what it’s worth, I agree with him and the bad cat and think the US is responsible.) The lack of curiosity about this in the media is eerily reminiscent of the lack of the CDC’s curiosity when it comes to vaccine data — they aren’t interested in looking because they probably know what they will find.
Speaking of vaccine data, the Surgeon General of Florida was censored by Twitter after tweeting that the state was no longer recommending covid vaccines in males aged 18-39 due to increased risk of heart problems. Florida follows numerous European countries that have discontinued jabbing young adults for the same reason. The ‘experts’ talk a lot about how misinformation is ‘causing harm’ — yet I’ll bet dollars to donuts that nobody in the public sphere (or Twitter) will be held accountable for the certain harm that will befall thousands (if not millions) of kids who get these shots.
These risks are not unknown. They’ve been part of the data since we started collecting the data. Yet it’s still censored by Twitter (almost certainly at the behest of government). I’m starting to think maybe the ‘experts’ aren’t driven by public health at all!
Joe Biden has been talking an awful lot about Armageddon. (No, not that one.) The media declares this is ‘clarifying the stakes’ that the world faces in Ukraine. I’m sure that the idea was to rally the country around the president in a time of crisis. However, since this situation in Ukraine was completely created by Biden and his inept handlers, Americans aren’t exactly lining up behind him to march into a nuclear holocaust. Perhaps Americans aren’t thrilled at the idea of a nuclear World War with this guy at the helm:
In NYC, a judge ruled in favor of extending legal protections to polyamorous relationships. I’ve always thought that it was EXTREMELY strange to say ‘People should be able to marry whoever they love’ but not to extend this to multi-partner relationships. And in the ensuing years that I brought this contradiction up to gay marriage supporters, they have acknowledged the disparity but always found some excuse why polyamorous relationships “are different”.
From what I can gather, these people feel poly relationships are ‘icky’ — the exact same way the public thought gay relationships were ‘icky’. And before that, the exact same way the public thought inter-racial relationships were ‘icky’. In fact, the marriage license arose in the United States as a way to keep inter-racial relationships illegal.
But a relationship making you feel icky isn’t a valid reason to keep it illegal. This is (yet another) argument in favor of getting government completely out of marriage. The state doesn’t need to license a marriage in able to be able to mediate a divorce.
Finally, what’s your mood today? (Choose multiple if required!)
Tulsi Gabbard left the Democrat party
Today = 4, 5, 7, and 9. A little more freaked out than usual.
