As Election Nears, Biden Administration Intensifies Lawfare
We're way past just trying to lock up Trump....
Believe it or not, we’re only seven months out from the 2024 presidential election, but that hasn’t slowed the effort to remove Republican frontrunner Donald Trump from ballots. The latest ‘removal’ effort comes out of Illinois:
The judge in this case normally handles minor traffic violations, so it makes perfect sense that she gets to determine who’s on the presidential ballot in her state. As is typical these days, the decision is stayed to allow for appeal, though it seems Democrats have learned from attempts to remove Trump in Maine and Colorado — the Illinois primary is only weeks away (March 19th), and early voting has already begun.
Pretty soon they’ll be disqualifying Trump after the votes have already been cast.
Of course, this is all happening as Jack Smith’s classified documents case against Trump winds its way through the court:
The left must have sent out talking points via The JournoList or something, because their uniform reaction was to call the Supreme Court corrupt, in bed with Trump, illegitimate, or some combination of the three.
This is especially ironic as they’ve been complaining Republicans are attacking “American institutions that are vital to our democracy” for the last three years. But as soon as something MAYBE doesn’t go their way, those institutions are the problem!
We can’t have voters determining the course of Our Democracy!
And you know who convinces voters? Journalists. Not the MSM bobbleheads peddling the narrative 24/7, but real journalists like The Blaze’s Steve Baker (who’s responsible for narrative-smashing footage of 1/6).
Today, Baker was forced to turn himself in to the FBI for charges stemming from his (completely non-violent) actions as a reporter on January 6th.
Remember all the way back to last week when we were supposed to be outraged at Putin’s treatment of political prisoner Alexei Navalny? Yet here’s the FBI arresting a reporter on unknown charges because of the nature of that reporter’s completely legal actions.
If only Baker had stuck to the narrative, he’d be celebrated as a brave hero documenting a deadly insurrection like Ashley Gilbertson — but since Baker’s footage instead drills holes in the narrative, he’ll likely be spending the weekend in federal custody.
For democracy, you see.
Edit: Baker will NOT be spending the weekend in federal custody! Here’s a video made after his release.
Unfortunately, Baker’s case isn’t the government’s only recent attack on the press. Journalist Catherine Herridge was recently fired from CBS — seemingly for her investigation into the Hunter Biden laptop. The company then seized her private files, which is completely unprecedented as far as I know.
In a coincidence (?), Herridge has now been jailed for contempt of court for not revealing her source in a years-old trial. In the 24-page ruling affirming Herridge’s contempt, the court repeatedly claims to SERIOUSLY CONSIDER Herridge’s Constitutional rights — immediately before ignoring those rights.
The decision basically comes down to the idea that if government REALLY wants to know your sources, you have to give them up.
Remind me again how many journalists were forced to give up their sources for completely fake Russiagate-era claims? But those were convenient lies, so of course nobody got punished for making them. (Except via the market!) When somebody comes along spitting uncomfortable truths, the system goes into overdrive to protect itself.
We certainly saw this during the covid years, when the censorship machine kicked into overdrive to protect the covid narrative. (And, ironically, the Hunter laptop narrative as well.) I’m sure more than a few readers had dealing with Karens across the world (including those in the media) who scolded us for comparing covid to a bad flu.
In a totally unrelated story, guess what the CDC says now?
Somebody at the CDC should have checked with the CDC like three years ago — they would have found that we could have ALWAYS treated it like the flu:
A quick update on the article I wrote a couple days ago about the Online Harms Act:
Yes, it really is as crazy as it sounds:
Who could be suspected of potentially committing a hate crime in the future?
Literally anybody, which is exactly the point.
Finally, some good news on the January 6th videos front: the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight is currently releasing hundreds of hours of video — though many I’ve skimmed through are completely devoid of anything interesting at all. (Do we need 2 hours of a deserted set of stairs?)
I’ll let you know if I find anything interesting!

Baker was released after appearing before a judge -- but they put him in leg irons! LOL
Edit: LOL look at the hoops NBC jumps through to avoid calling Baker a journalist:
A former singer of a David Bowie tribute band who entered the Capitol on Jan. 6 and now works as a writer for Glenn Beck's 'The Blaze' website was arrested on misdemeanor Capitol attack charges after turning himself into federal authorities.
