Happy New Year, Screamers! I’ve never really been a big New Year’s Eve partier, (All the ‘casual’ drinkers out clogging up the bars and streets? No thanks.) and I think New Year’s resolutions make no sense. (If you think of something you want to fix on August 12th, start fixing it on August 12th!) The combination of these two ‘traditions’ leads many people heading into a new year with determination…….and a pounding headache that nullifies it.
But ultimately I’m an optimistic person, and LOVE new beginnings. At the end of something, you look back and remember what was — at the start of something, you look forward and dream of what’s to come. (You can tell I’m a Royals fan.)
And often an end for somebody is a beginning for somebody else:
Heading in 2024, we’ve got plenty of problems as a country — there’s no denying that. But these problems have opened the eyes of millions of Americans who are starting to understand why government is supposed to be restricted to a small subset of American life. The more that government does (for our own good, of course), the worse life gets for the people.
And it’s very likely going to get worse - the looting and lies and gaslighting necessarily increase in frequency and intensity as the system struggles to survive.
Life might get worse all year long.
But like suffering through a hangover on January 1st, this pain is a necessary part of the healing from past terrible mistakes — and moving to correct them. As a country we’ve been getting drunk without worrying about the crashing headache we’re now experiencing. But unlike the hangover victim, it feels like the country is ready to listen (even if just from necessity).
While the authoritarians and censors officially still hold sway, the snowball of resistance is only growing. We have the power, we have the knowledge, and now we have the connections to destroy these mid-level thinkers who believe they have the power to demand from us what they refuse to do themselves.
Imagine this video of a man throwing a log into the ditch is the WEF and their agenda:
I don’t what frame of that video 2024 represents, but they’re all necessary for the plan’s ultimate backfire. (I’m hoping we’re close to contact!)
As Jeffrey Tucker conveniently points out today, “Consumers Are Rejecting the Great Reset” as they realize the promises of John Kerry the WEF don’t translate to real life. (Ask Sri Lanka about their ESG score sometime!)
The incredible rise of the BBB in the Netherlands after the Dutch farmer protests show what’s possible when a group of people stand up and refuse to be ruled by incompetent, unelected wannabe-technocrats.
2024 seems like a great year for a great awakening, doesn’t it?
It’s time to ride!
Because even though we may sometimes fight amongst ourselves, the important thing is that remain friendly, respectful……..
…….and hilarious.
Because when it comes down to it, we don’t have to be the same to get along!
And by seeing through the BS and sticking together, we can protect the ones we care about from those who want to do them harm. (And hopefully cause a fair bit of bafflement while we do it!)
But unfortunately, the arrival of 2024 does come with certain financial realities. We’ve all been to the grocery store and know prices are out of control. These days it takes more and more to get less and less. However, longtime readers know that I’m adamant about my content remaining free, so to help pick up the slack, I’m driving traffic to the site with a tried-and-true method: posting sleek and sexy cougars lounging on furniture:
I can almost hear the new subs now!
Afraid of commitment? Buy me a coffee on Ko-fi — no subscription required!
Bonus content that really didn’t ‘fit’ into the article!
This video of a seal and her new cub reminds me of Rosemary’s sad story about a squirrel……..
…………but with a happy ending!
Perhaps one of my favorite things about English, explained very well by Doug Stanhope:
God Almighty do I love goats.
Happy New Year to all. And just remember--it's a cycle. We been here before, gonna be here again. Plant gardens and orchards whether you expect to see the flowering or they're gonna delight someone else's eyes. You just do what you can, and hope the markets don't run out of tea.
If you didn’t already see El Gato Malo’s latest Substack, it’s worth a look for the kitty references. I admit the nail polish on the guy threw me off but I love the message. https://open.substack.com/pub/boriquagato/p/newyears-resolution-be-a-house-cat. We should all resolve to be house cats!
