Often on this page, we take a light-hearted approach to the issues we face in the world. We might laugh at the stupid policies of the ‘leaders’ while neglecting to comment on the underlying power grab. But as we start this new year, it’s time to shift gears and get serious. Recall this quote from Ronald Reagan:
Turns out Reagan was wrong — freedom slips away much more quickly than over a generation. As we move into 2022, the stark truth is that freedom cannot survive another year like 2021. It will be extinct unless we do something. Now.
Previous generations have made incalculable sacrifices to maintain the freedom that we enjoy. In comparison, our job is easy. We don’t have to grab machine guns and storm beaches at Normandy, we simply have to say NO. NO to testing, NO to mandates, NO to authoritarian power grabs, and NO to endless emergencies.
Many of you are outspoken critics of the idiotic policies being pushed by power-mad authoritarians. For you, it’s time to crank up the volume. Share articles and stories across all your social media accounts. Continue to be vocal in your real life to your friends and family. (At least those who will keep talking to you!)
Others of you are closer to the middle. You know the policies don’t work, but don’t want to cause waves in your real life. Maybe the kids have to go to soccer and you gotta fly for your job, so…..you go along to get along. This has been completely understandable, but now it’s time to get off the fence before you find yourself behind it.
A government that can force citizens to undergo a medical procedure without consent has no limit to its power.
Listen to Justin Trudeau talking about the unvaccinated, knowing full well that vaccines don’t stop (and might not even slow) transmission. THIS IS NOT ABOUT A VIRUS. This is about how much the government can control your life.
This man and those like him will not be defeated with quiet submission. They will continue to squish the vocal outspoken, one by one, unless we all stand up en masse. This is the time to stand up for freedom. And like it or not, WE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO MUST DO IT. Otherwise, we’ll be in a much, much worse place this time next year. This is the time to stand up for yourselves, for your children, and for the children they’ll eventually have. The other option is living in shame, knowing our generation was the one where freedom went extinct.
A Not-So-Happy New Year
Amidst all of the pain and suffering something wonderful has arisen. I remember that after September 11 Mr. Rogers advised children that when something terrible happens to try to think about the helpers. That doesn't mean a turning away from the horror. On the contrary. Heroes turn towards the pain, the suffering, the horrors, and the injustice. There have been and there continues to be many heroes throughout this whole epoch. There are heroes large and small. Everyday heroes as well as those known by many. I could name names but this post would be very long and I would be sure to miss many of those who are well known to many of us.
I think we should honor the heroes of this movement. That is what it is, a movement. A movement that promotes truth, justice, liberty, and the dignity of all people. It is a movement of historical proportions. Many have stepped up and have done the right thing instead of the easy thing. Heroes are brave. They place themselves at risk and the possibility of loss to do what in their heart they know to be right. I have been touched by these heroes. They give us hope. Their courage and bravery is contagious.
In March it will be two years since we entered the covid era. As bad as things are it would be much worse without the heroes, those known to many and those known only to some.
I propose that we declare March 5th as Covid Truth Heroes Day. On that day we will celebrate our victories, honor our cause, honor the heroes, and send a loud message that we will not be silenced. Please join me in spreading the word far and wide in making March 5th Covid Truth Heroes Day.
On that day lets gather in state capitals across the US, in provincial capitals across Canada, and in cities across Europe. When we gather we will honor our heroes and what has made them heroes.
It's a delicate balance between wrong and wrung. So many of the working population depends upon corporate spending. From business lunches to limo service to corporate air travel to takeovers (attorneys, accountants, consultants). Who wants to slap their income in the face? We have been corralled into Corporate. I am checking out. Find me operating an RV park somewhere warm. Veterans and Active Military get discounts of course.
